A new Veselko favorite? High praise indeed! I was so jealous when you claimed this game to review and I’m even more so now. Two AI’s! Bidding! Hidden rats! Yes! Not sure what it says about you that you managed to take EVERY rat that round. I love that they were hidden so just when you think you did well taking the trick…. I think I would change the art. Instead of fighting for turtles, I’d have gone for making the suits bags of gold, bottles of rum, and parrots and other desirable pirate booty. I can tell you love it by the actuary tables you made. What a nerd! (and can you send me copy?)
I actually agree with the art comment. Though the animals look cool, because the cards are the point values in the game it makes thematic sense to make them valuable things like cash, rum, jewels, etc. Though I am envisioning a retool of ECK as a Lilith de Sharque game where the cards are gems with different polygon shapes...
@@johnburton3960 Ohhh, I love the idea of creating games within a set world. ECK could be some kind of gambling game Lilith plays with fellow pirates when in port....
Thanks Veselko. Had this on my list for a while but got exhausted playing my first 15 from the contest! Now i can play the pcio until i build it. My wife and I used to play 2 handed 500 with hidden cards which was fun - looks like that a bit. Can you really look through scoring cards? That seems like cheating but suppose gives you an idea of strategy and what's under the shown cards. "The 10 is going to be higher so the joke is on them" - Love it! Thanks again for another great video 😃
Thanks, Bill. Yeah, scoring cards are dealt out face up, so you can plan your moves. I tried 11 games from the contest so far, and I, too, am exhausted 😁
I think it seems that way because I'm explaining AI's moves and other stuff. Usually, AI turn is shorter than yours, plus you clear the cards and grab the score card.
The first time I played it did feel like a lot of upkeep. By the second time I was starting to understand the logic of the AI table and didn't have to refer to it nearly as often, and the game was more enjoyable. One thing that needs to be emphasized here is that the AI always plays the card nearest the top of the triangle that fits the other criteria. Same thing goes for filling in blank places from a 2-card stack. In case of any choices to be made, go with the one that gets you closest to the top of the triangle.

@@VeselkoKelava Never.
@@johnburton3960 Will this game come to Gamecrafter, eventually? I bought ECK and The Brambles from there and really like them :)

Quite an interesting game - it just seems to me like a lot of upkeep. Is that also how you experienced it?

@@VeselkoKelava Yeah, that's possible - it may only seem that way.
