i notice as his videos go throughout the years he gains more and more markers now he got like every single color lol you can see his 2012 vids he got like 5 now he got like 30
It's helpful when students ask questions because sometimes I feel a little bit confused. Math isn't my strength but you teach it very well. I enjoy the setting of the video. Thanks for teaching me math!
teacher your sooo helpful im in grd 7 and i got 98% in math just by watching your videos. im happy that i found a guy like u in youtube. I think your the best online teacher EVER. Bottom line, THANK YOU. :)
Thanks for this! My daughter always has an A in math but she missed a couple days of school and fell behind. She came to me for help on these absolute value inequalities and I was completely lost! This video totally saved me!
oh my gosh thank you so much for this. I have been STRUGGLING with absolute value equations and inequalities and this is the first time i actually GET IT. I can't thank you enough
You know this is so much better than watching my grade 12 teacher sit in the back of the class on an overhead projector go through the problem in a monotone voice. Saying you should just understand what's going on.
I know you probably won't see this but this video helped me so much. I was so stressed about solving absolute value inequalities until I found this video and it makes sense.
Be my 8th grade advanced math teacher. You do the best job I've ever seen. The only way I'm going to pass my test is through you. Your videos always help and even 6 years later your still making my life easier. THANKS!!!!!
turns out I never learned that we write or if it's >, and this was the problem. I already knew everything THOROUGHLY, but I didn't know that I was supposed to look for a union instead of an intersection 😭😭 thank you, this is the first video where I saw this covered
i don't know if you read these things, but i'm a substitute with a bunch of areas on the teaching license. I want to add high school math, and if i can teach half as good as yourself i think the students would come alive for math. In minutes i learned things that some of them take weeks to comprehend. (but i'm a geek that way). All teachers should be like you. I'm assuming you are high school? I know it is also what the community college calls precalculus algebra (I used to teach English in Comm at the local one in my area, but i like teaching high school more)
very good helpful vid! i suck at math but now im a little more prepared for my test tmr! hope ur still teaching math even 10 yrs later, keep up the good work:))
perhaps a better way to explain the sign is as follows: |2Z+5| < 2, which also can be written as |-(2Z+2)| < 2; the second expression lead to -(2Z+5) < 2 which can leads to 2Z+5 > -2 (inequality multiply by a negative factor reverses the sign. That is it!
I'm a lil confused about the "and/or" thing, isn't that very dependent on which side you happen to choose to write the variable on. For example, using the vid's inequality: A) 3|2x+5|+22 inequality A and inequality B are the same thing, but according to this vid the top inequality would be "and" while the bottom one would be "or". What am I doing wrong?
oh, is it the inequality sign of the isolated absolute value form of the inequality that determines if it's "and" or "or"? That would make sense if so.
Dear Brianmclogan, if you see modulus as distance and use number line you could have done in 1/4th time, space and labour. It would have been more elementary. Kindly consider
First of all ladies and gentlemen - Brian Mclogan Welcome ladies and gentleman - Brian Mclogan Ladies and gentleman listen carefully - Brian Mclogan Before we proceed, ladies and gentleman - Brian Mclogan So do you have any questions ladies and gentlemen? - Brian Mclogan :D
ahhh I do not have any of those, just remember to set up two cases when the abs is isolated, if you take the square root remember to flip the inequality sign for the negative case
Like if you’re here because most math instructors have trouble understanding that most students in a lower level math class in college are the students who have/had math anxiety and didn’t perform well in high school math classes and that students who do have math anxiety tend to also have interpersonal anxiety and feel like they cannot stop a class to tell a teacher to slow down or go back out of fear of looking stupid so you end up lost during lecture. So you go to UA-cam to watch videos to understand better and at your own pace. Heyyyy eyyyyyy
Dudes on his phone?? Id give up my phone for years to have this man as my math teacher
Chris Banas flipping same
LOL he'd be the same kid claiming the teacher didnt teach well

taking an online algebra class and your videos are a lifesaver
happy to be there for you.

I have a Unit 2 test and not trying to hate but my teacher didn't teach us anything about absolute Values so THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Saved my life I am so bad at absolute values and this really just helped me prepare for my test tomorrow, ur awesome bro

Very good explanation, sir. Thanks a lot.

Great lesson sir, significantly helpful . Also astonished at the fact that you were part of J.A .
lol these videos are gold during virual learning thank you so much
Thanks for your great explanation am really humbled 🙏
Why did you switch the inequality sign at the end for both equations before graphing? And when do I need to do this.
any time you have an "and" inequality
@@brianmclogan so, you don't flip the sign for an "or" inequality?
he switched it because like he said, (example) |2x-3|
Thank you now I understand inequalities with absolute value.
Good Job Sir, Thanks!!
learned more in 1 minute than my teacher taught us in a whole hour
