I had the brown one, the only other color offered in 76, and it was a beast. Good old bikes from the good old days! Let the good times roll..... indeed!
As time goes by your video's just keep getting better and better. Sound is great. That bike is great. I love 70's superbikes. I like watching you guys ride them because I'm a tad shorter and it gives me a good idea how I would look on them.
There was KZ 900 running around may area in the middle 70s when I was a young lad. Have always wanted one but with two sons in college I will have to wait a bit. Love the green.
That's a real GEM you got there Ken! My first cousin had a KZ650 in orange Metallic. It would do 130 + mph no problem! I know, because I was on the back of it at the age of 12. These bikes have a beautiful note to their exhaust. Good luck getting that bike! I wish I had the extra cash I would bid on it! Looking for a dirt bike now. I think it was sunset orange or sunset gold metallic. Not sure.
DUDES!!! Awesome bike! KAWASAKI GRANDPA!!! Kawasaki has been kicking everyone’s ass ever since. They ARE the innovators, all the rest are just imitators. Witness the 2015 H2. 2019, 18, 17, 16, 15 World SuperBike Champions also! TEAM MEAN GREEN rules!!!
The best year other than the first year (73’) is the 75’ Z1b. I just happen to have a nice example in my garage. Unadulterated except for a 4/1 header. Bike runs like stink; high 11’s in the quarter at 120 thru the traps. I’ve owned it now for 25 yrs. Picked it up from an uninformed seller for $50; it’s appreciated 160x over in my ownership. I will never sell it.....well maybe when I’m 85 and ready for the grave. 😎
My biggest mistake was selling my 1979 KZ1300A. I purchased it new and it was the fastest production bike at that time. I babied it but sold it when I got a divorce. Best bike ever made. Wonder why they stopped making them?
Stop saying confidence inspiring... leave that “Feels” crap outside of the world that is motorcycles, besides that, great bike, and great detailed description. Anyone would be fortunate to have the ability to purchase this bike. It is a collectible and is part of motorcycle history.
Thats a hell of a vintage kawi, GO GREEN!!!

The KAWASAKI Z1A 750 was released prior to the Z1A 900.
I have a mint 3 page fold out factory brochure of the Z1A 900.
