WOW! 'The widowmaker' in mint condition! Jay Leno has a video where he rides one of these H2's! Love these old 2-strokes- they are the essence of motorcycling! I have several bikes, large and small, and believe it or not, the biggest 'fun factor' is riding my vintage 1982 HONDA MB5! It's only 50cc, 7.1 HP, 5-speed, but it hits 53 MPH with my 220 pound frame!
The 72 H2 was the fastest. Each year after they changed the ports to make it easier to ride. I was the BSSK record holder at New England Dragway. They added the K for a separate class as no other 750cc bike could touch it. I did run the longer swing arm of the 74 as mine was a 72. You could update but not backdate. The bike was lowered, drag bars, rear shocks replaced with struts, Denco chambers that were supposed to be a 10% hp boost. No porting and stock carbs. I also had a lighter aftermarket front fender and a race seat. I have my record holder certificates 11.62 I ran this from 1974 to 1980. You hear about the 74 KJ 900, not even close. I had to spot them in SS eliminator. Jack Doyle one the originators of NE Dragways sons Pat and Jay ran bikes at the time. I had a partial sponsor that helped. Dover Kawasaki on the Littleworth Road. George Nicol. In 78 I was runner up in BSS. At Atco Dragway in NJ. Wes Nyce out of Trevose Pennsylvania blew me off with an 11.21.My best run ever was an 11.39.
Wes is from Pottstown and just stopped racing a few years ago after a mishap at Reading Motorcycle Club 1/8th mile .. still helps with others bikes tuning.. if I see him, I’ll tell him you mentioned him Jack!
Gotta LOVE them ring ah ding ding 2strokes. I have two 74's. A S3 and the clone to this one. My H2 only has 1,600 miles tho even came with a gift from original owner. A factory oem set of black drag pipes he purchased from dealer he never installed. My question to yall is this....my right side of tank the KAWASAKI paint (yellow) is faded lookin from the left. Exactly like this one! I thot mine was from storing by a window by orig owner & was just sun fade? Btw..this bike was worth every penny the gentleman was askin.
I was weaned on H2’s.. we always mixed and matched parts from 72,73,74 for our street bikes.. my last one had a 72 motor, 74 swing arm, Tracy 1 piece fiberglass body, Lester mags, dual discs up front from a 900 LTD, chrome Denco chambers, Denco drag bars. I used to get pulled over a lot, not for speeding, the cops just had no idea what is was.. great memories!
Almost bought one in 74, but came to my senses & got an rd350 Yamaha & later 1000 LTD. These were crazy, not as crazy as maybe a 72-73 but crazy nontheless!
Had a 73 h2 with king cobra porting and expansion chambers carbs done. 120 hp. Wheelie in first three gears, scare the shit out of you at any given time but I grew accustomed to the wiggles under full throttle.
that scott guy that sold it probably had black and blue balls...poor bastard..what a survivor...the official "widow maker" "propensity to wheelie"..i guess so when its at high rpm and entering the next gear
Hideous and a thing of beauty at the same time, way, way too fast for the rest of the bike to handle, the H2 probably did more for the Japanese reputation of making bad handling bikes than any other, obviously rectified since them but I guess it was still early days for the Japanese motorcycle industry they were still finding their feet at the time.
According to a friend who successfully roadraced an H2 750 at Sears Point, it was a better handling bike than the H1 500. The bigger bike was less evil.
This Bike means more to me than the modern H2, nice to see an original survivor.
litearray my favorite color scheme on the H2 was the blue and stripe, stood out in a crowd, first H2 I ever owned.
I would Blow a small Horse in front my grandmother for this bike
Full credit to Scott for the way he has loved and preserved this piece of his and motorcyclings history. Thanks Ken and Ken jnr for sharing .

Jack Norman is my name
Epping is still a great strip as I still race it. Still a few H2s on the circuit and of course the Z1 900s still hold thier own.

That paint just pops in the sun, after all these years is truly remarkable, i would price this at $ 35000.
Exactly what I paid in 2024, mine is a 1975, Purple Haze
Had one identical, just as nice.Gave 500 dollars for it in 84. Ashamed to say what i sold it for, it had 11000 miles and needed nothing.

The man him self on the beast wearing a crash hat reputation goes before.
I have the H2 250 Kawasaki with/8,000 miles/1974 Model
