If I could afford to do so, I would retire near Heungdeok in Gochang County. There is a beautiful lake on top of one of the mountains and it is surrounded by raspberry farms that supply the berries for the blackberry wine industry.

When I lived in Ulsan, I used to ride my motorcycle to Gyeongju almost every weekend. Back then it was spelled Kyongju. Near Boolguksa down the hill a bit is the best dolsot (sp?) bibimbap in the country. If a person has walking problems he/she will need help in Boolguksa, which is an active Buddhist monastery that takes an entire day to see.
