I’ve only been sewing for about 2 years and am self-taught via UA-cam videos. When I first started sewing I bought several yards of double gauze because I love it for summer clothing. It didn’t take me long to see that I wasn’t ready for such a fussy fabric. I finally just made myself a top from it and kind of invented my own ways of dealing with it (such as using twill tape over side seams and stay tape at the shoulders). Anyway, the top is beautiful BUT I am not anxious to jump back into another dbl-gauze project right away! PS I used “Bubble gauze” from Joann and I think it’s good quality for the price.
Great video! Not many people talk about gauze fabric, but it is soo soft and beautiful! I had been searching for weeks for different suppliers and online stores that carried double cotton gauze. In the last few weeks of my search, as I was giving up hope, Joann Fabric added a bubble gauze to their inventory! I picked up a few yards to make a duvet cover and I found it to be somewhat scratchy when you first touch it, but after washing it one time it definitely softened up! With the convenience of shopping online AND instore, and with their amazing coupons, I would highly recommend trying it!!
Thank you! I need to know which company make best quality of gauze fabric. Cause I’ m planning to make 4 layers gauze comforter for my granddaughter’s summer comforter as her birthday gift. This video is helpful! Thanks again. I’ll buy double layer product of South Korea!! And I want to make my gauze scarf with remnants! 😊🎵🎵
You'd have to be careful. It's a pretty delicate fabric that can snag easily. Too much weight from sequins or beads would probably not hold up well. But you could maybe add a few here and there, especially if you added a stabilizer to the back
Very thorough and helpful. Thank you for sharing this.

I haven't tried Joann's bubble gauze- I'll have to check it out! A top from gauze is brave as a first project. I bet it's so comfy to wear!
I've been wanting to learn about double gauze and a little confused by the options, this was super helpful!

Well analyzed and much appreciated! I am putting lace on my double gauze baby blanket to make it a little cuter. How do you feel about this?
I think that sounds adorable!!
Can you do some light pressing on double gause fabric after washing?
That should be fine!
I wonder what would happen if you bought single layer and doubled it.
That would definitely be an interesting experiment
Thank you. Great content.
So glad you liked it!
Can you sew sequins and beads onto it ?

what kind of thread should be used for these baby projects?
For baby projects I usually try to stay with natural materials, so I'd go with a cotton thread.
The Korean fabric is single gauze...at least that’s what it looks like. That’s why it’s more delicate looking.
Good call!
😂😂😂😂 you said you'll make a scarf because you don't spit up on your scarves everyday like a baby does with his blankets.
