    TOBS Peppermint was all I used for a long time. It was the gateway to the rabbit hole.

    Tobs is cheap but not cheappie
    They have very good products
    and they are a staple in the
    wet shaving world. Sandalwood
    Grapefruit and even newest Oud, Lime zest or Tobacco are
    great samples of how good
    a shaving cream can be but
    without being a bank breaker.
    Good show Matt.👌

    My favorite shave creams. Almond is amazing.

      I got sandlewood and that scent was absolutely amazing, considering the lack of mention of it compared to other ones like the almond and grapefruit I will have to give those a shot as well.

    The lime sounds really nice and refreshing. I bet it would go great with a cold shave on a hot day.

    I prefer TOBS out of all the other brands you mentioned. Personally, I would highly recommend their products, all are of the highest quality, in my view.

    An odd Christmas gift of TOBS shaving cream was what got me into wet shaving with safety razors. A friend had purchased some for her father but he had just gotten put on blood thinners and had to switch to an electric shaver. So I ended up with a hand me down Christmas gift. Decided to to grab a Merkur 34C and a brush and give it a go. That was many years of nicks and learning technique ago. Still love their shaving creams though I have been on a shave soap kick the last year.

    I love the scents from TOBS, some of my favorite. The Sandalwood scent is a league of its own. My only niggle I have is that TOBS's creams do not have the slickness of some of my favorite soaps - Barrister & Mann in particular.

    Royal Forest is fantastic, as is Oud. I can't decide which is my favourite, but both offer some of the best lather out there.

  • @RonnieYates
    @RonnieYates 6 місяців тому +2

    Jermyn st is my fav TOBs and one of my fav scents. Performance is decent. It has the coconut oil so it froths up quick but keep lathering and ensure you use enough product. The old “almond size” recommendation isn’t enough product for me to get a thicker lather.

    I was actually given a tub of the Sandalwood by my sister this day, as a surprise gift. I tried it out for the first time tonight. It was quite nice. I agree that the post-shave feel of my face is excellent, but I tend to credit that more to having a razor of the very best quality: a Rex Envoy XL. A few months ago, I also purchased the Organic unscented cream. I'm not sure what to think about TOBS creams at this time. I have a lot to learn about achieving the perfect shave. I think at this time, I'm moving in the right direction with my razor choices, and still learning about pre-shave treatments and shaving creams.

    I have enjoyed many of TOBS products for many years and have always found them to be excellent performers. I also enjoy the other T's as well. I agree with Matt that the three T's are excellent performers. I also consider Castle Forbes to be among the best shaving creams on the market. To those who say they are too expensive, I say they are a great value because of their high quality, they last for a very long time.using only a small amount of product. In any event, this is about TOBS products which are excellent products that provides wonderful shaves complimented by fine masculine scents.

    Recently got into TOBS. My personal favorites are Sandalwood, Jermyn Street, and Oud. Hopefully, they make an Oud aftershave balm and splash to match the soap.

    This was my intro into better shave creams/soaps once I started DE shaving. I cannot, however, recommend it if you are using a DE shaver. Store bought shaver? Yes. But the last time I used it the razor burn compared to a good shave soap (Razor Emporium, Arianna and Evans, Zingari Man) was very, very noticeable. The scents are good so get them for your family who still use store bought shavers/razors. But for DE shaving you need to upgrade to preshave oil/soap and a good shave soap.

    Visited TOBS in London (Bond Street) a few days ago. The store was super cool but, some of the staff seemed a bit elitist and had surprisingly poor knowledge of shaving. The items were also super overpriced, was hoping to pick-up a Simpsons Chubby but the mark-up was insane. Ended buying the Coconut shaving cream as well as Cedarwood. The Coconut is just glorious!

    While these are decent products, I believe they miss the price for performance mark now. TOBs and Trumpers doesn't even come close to the performance of artisan shaving soaps, but they are just as expensive. If you are going to pay a premium price, you might as well get a premium artisan soap/cream. Stirling soap beeswax for 14$ 6oz...WOW. The Rex soaps are the same price as TOBs but have FAR superior performance. For cheap soaps that match price for performance go with Proraso 5.2 oz 10$, RazoRock soaps, and ARKO.

    Hey RE, I'm someone who has moved away from electric and multi-blade razors because of how often I get ingrown hairs and scars. My hair is extremely coarse and difficult to shave without getting ingrowns. I've tried the Supply SE razor for many months now and I still get ingrowns/scars and the shave is not very close. I use Proraso products, which I like, and I only do one pass shaves as suggested in your prevent ingrown hairs youtube vid. Do you have any recommendations for which razor I should use instead?

    • @RazorEmporium
      @RazorEmporium  5 місяців тому +1

    • @michaelcorpuzyuh
      @michaelcorpuzyuh 5 місяців тому

      @@RazorEmporium Yes! Thanks for that tip. I've tried to follow every piece of advice you gave in that video. Haven't found much luck. My thick Filipino hair seems to be undefeated when it comes to scarring and ingrown hairs. Should I be trying to find a closer shave? Or would that make the ingrowns worse?

    But it is not the same formula. English shaving soaps used to be the best in the world, but due to cost reasons, their products definitely changed at some point.
