Excellent review. Thank you. I have a 2018 C4S with a manual gearbox. You have inspired me to seek more power from it along with smile factor. Thank you!
The 991 & 992 "T" cars with the manual T are the best bang for buck IMO. Doesn't take much to tune the 3.0 powerplant to 500HP vs paying for a GTS which is about 250lbs heavier and $35-40K USD more.
Great video. I'm debating what to do next to my 911 T. Thinking a tune might help liven it up a bit. These engines are great and can take big power without fuss - APR is running 9 sec 1/4 mile in their T already.
Personally, I’d have mine with 10% more torque for that full GT2 effect (except with a manual). Gearbox might need rebuilding sooner, but then rebuilds are par for the course with Porsche’s, so what the hell. Great video.
Hi , found your channel while looking at various levels of 911 ‘s ad which one would be best for me . Excellent review , thank you , and the first I’ve heard of Litchfield , what a performance upgrade !! . One thing I would like to question , is how do official Porsche dealerships view this upgrade , as against warranty and their own personal points on resales ?
Brilliant I am glad you liked the content. We will be going up to Litchfield again in the next couple of weeks and I am going to get my hands on some very very special cars that they have at the moment. It truly is a mega upgrade and so well engineered. That is going to have to be a question for Litchfield themselves. They are a very friendly bunch, if you give them a bell and ask for Iain (big bossman) I am sure he will explain every question you have. Say that Christian from Motorflix got you on to him and he will look after you very well indeed!
@@Motorflix I’m from the midlands as well and wanted to get an idea of where the footage in the video was filmed? Some good really nice shots there on some v good roads. Also, could do some drag race content if you want; got an M2C, would love to see it go up against similar cars like the Cayman 4.0
@@MrFishrr arrrr fair enough. I film all over, but cotswolds and Wales mainly. I have an M2 CS coming today for a week for filming, which I am very much looking forward to. The only problem with drag races is, they are expensive to film as you need to hire runways etc. They do good numbers and we will be doing them as the channel grows. We have a track film coming with a really special collaboration in a couple of weeks! 👍🏻
Wow! Thanks for the video! I’d love to know more about the modifications on that Carrera T. Probably it got some kind of turbo upgrade, not only the remap/air filter/ exhaust kit, but the results must be fantastic! Any performance data? Even the top speed should be amazing considering the Carrera T is the last narrow body 911 fabricated. Although I like manual transmission ( my two last sport cars were a BMW Z4M Coupe and a Corvette C6 Z06), I’m much happier with the PDK Carrera T. It serves me better in the all too common heavy traffic and it’s faster on track, so I’m not nostalgic about MT. Otherwise the spec of the test car is great! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It has the bigger turbos from a GTS this particular car. If you go on the Litchfield website I am sure there is some performance data there. Thanks for watching!
Jarod I would be too. Have a chat to them, they can do all different states of tune. I wouldn’t trust any old Micky mouse company, these guys a amazing at what they do. Do let them know that you saw the film. 👍🏻
I done my new f80 m3 tune and full exhaust with them a few years ago with absolutely no issues also you can get a tune with the box that you can just remove to take it back to stock settings
I understand what you mean. This level of performance is still brilliant with a manual, but I appreciate you can get more out of it potentially if you are trying to chase lap times. The manual is challenging which gives it loads of character.
100.000 miles = 160.000 km. Why shouldn't it get to 100.000 mls without problems ? My first BMW did 203.000 mls, the second 172.000 and the third the same, all without any problem. And no diesels. In France there was a Ferrari owner (Testa Rossa) +250.000 mls (got an article in a French magazine). In the '80 there was a Aston Martin (V8) owner in Germany who did also 250.000 mls with his car. Got a article in Auto Motor und Sport. Just drove it, regular maintenance and every so and the top up the oil. When you hear owners of some (sports) cars now they think it is an achievement when they get to 60.000 mls. It is pathetic.
Yes,because it will not spend very much of that time at full boost and power. It’s impossible on the road. Probably not delivering max for more thhan10% of those miles. N
@@Tracertme you are right I did so my bad! I think in widening the front track and changing some of the geometry it has made the steering batter. 👍🏻 (you would have to talk to them for more technical details)
@@Motorflix look it does not always mean things get worse, you said steering feel was good, and front end 911's are typically lighter anyway, so all good, just an observation... I rate Litchfield very highly... compared to most ECU remap type shops, they have come a long way and I am delighted they have spread their wings beyond the GTR fame. I enjoy your video's as well, so well done, you are giving them some well deserved media visibility I feel they lack.. If you can borrow a RS6 that would be cool.. PS. I was scrambling through the used 992 GTS for a manual after this article... it really makes sense to a 992 turbo
Good question. I think they can do all levels. You don’t have to go as mad with it as is in their Carrera T. I think an email to them would yield you the answers you are looking for! 👍🏻👍🏻
Just had my 2016 GT3RS in OPC for Warranty claim and renewed warranty for 2 years and was told mods are now allowed so long as they are not the cause for something that fails and becomes a warranty claim. This was good news as I have fitted a v loud Brooks race exhaust!
@@CeeblyBeebly Could however be tricky in case of Warranty claim, because Porsche could try to tell you that this remap is the direct or indirect cause of quite anything. Then remains the legal route...
taimur koi it is all due to Euro 6 and to the strangulation of the engine and exhaust. Also where they aim it in the market place. They could make them better but then no one would buy a GT3 I suppose......
@@Motorflix Yes, suppose that makes sense, Im aware of Litchfield as they have done some work on my GTR. What I really miss is my 964 Turbo which had a triflow sports exhuast, I am trying to find a newer 911 which can be tuned to achieve the same sound and feel.

The feeling of driving a Manual Porsche❤️👌🏾
I think the driving satisfaction of the manual gearbox the pdk could never replicate

610 bhp in a Carrera T would leave a GT3 touring for dead and from a roll would probably have the measure of a Turbo as well

But unfortunately it is really good! HA
Not credible, even to crank. Plus, pretty sure the manual isn't rated to withstand 610 hp load.
