A gt3 would be a very hard choice over a Carrera t with a DMS automotive remap and Lichfield's suspension setup. Especially when a 991.2 gt3 is 70k more

Great vid! For occasional track use a T is just fine. And for road use it’s arguably better than a GT3. Cracking car. 😎
Good cause too. There’s no such thing as a healthy tan. Everyone thinks skin cancer “won’t happen to me”, until it does and it has much bigger implications than just being something on your skin.
It’s where it can do off to elsewhere in your body that is the serious part.

Respectfully, the Carrera T can’t compete with the naturally aspirated greatness of the GT3. Great car though and I’m envious of your collection. 🍻

Talking and driving is a very difficult skill to do especially when driving fast
The smile on your face says it all Tom, the “T” is a great all rounder. The relief on your face when you pulled into the pits was classic!
The 991 T is a sweet spot of the modern 911 models IMO. Still the classic 911 weight balance making it interesting to drive and a fairly narrow body which makes it suitable for smaller roads as well. Lovely manual box. Characterful, rev-friendly engine. Love the yellow, Tom. Absolutely great car you have there, mate. Enjoy and drive safely.

The carrera T is essentially a rebirth of classic 911's to me. I'd love to have one. I think Porsche should simplify their lineup. 911 T, (maybe GTS), Turbo and GT3 and maybe a carrera S with rear seats for people who want to daily it. I think if I had the cash for a 911 (maybe older model) I would convert it to something like a 911 T. Yours looks amazing!

IMO the 911T is probably the next best thing to the GT3 for the track in the way of Porsches.

The Carrera T is definitely underrated, proper visual stress relief at the end there going into the pits though 🤣
I had a red 914 with the wide arch kit back in the late 90's and it was epic. In truth, it was a bit on the tatty side but rock solid. I wish I still had it now! I think I sold it for about £1700! Am still loving my 996.2 C2 and have had it a few weeks now. Just fitted a Mod07 steering wheel and feels way better now. Anyway, love the porker content as usual Tom.

engine internals completely different, transmission in a gt3 with the gearing being more robust, chassis reinforcement. i love when people with carrera Ts say its a baby GT3. no its not

Your Carrera T looked good on track lad! That 914 and 911 slant nose were absolutely incredible 😍 Oh.. And not forgetting the 964 RS too 😎
Carrera T is my favourite of the modern 911's. For the money I don't think you will get better. They are different enough to stand out they get that mechanical feel due to the sound deadening being removed. And they are easily tuned by a specialist if you want to get more power out of them. A trip to Litchfield will get you up and running with a GT3 if you wish.
I’ve toyed with tuning but I think part of the fun of this car is being able to absolute hoof it and laugh, not do mental speeds instantly and die.
@@TGE I agree completely there is something to be said for driving a slower car at 9/10ths than a faster one at 3/4 and being limited by either the road or track from going any faster.
A lovely line up of Porsche’s there. Have to admit that I played the intro over to take in the eye-candy a second time! When you say that the T isn’t a track car, I think all 911’s are essentially a track car. It’s not necessarily about competing in classes, but the experience of driving on the track in a car engineered to do so. Personal bests, and mastering your car is just as satisfying as competing against others. Plus…the yellow T LOOKED the business!

I work as a vehicle Damage assessor for the Porsche bodyshop that did the work on the targa that you mistaked for your own and I can see you know the owner and he would recommend us as we do all his cars and maybe you could look at getting your cars done with us at some time
Very cool car - I actually drive a 1971 version of this car in Irish green with houndstooth - complete with added rattles, air flow through the glovebox and all the latest technical gizmos.......a clock :-)

Nice one! Ceramics are pretty hard to modulate on track but the car looked planted and you had fun if a bit relieved at the end 😁

Great content this one|!! i think it would be really good interesting to see you go out with a pro driver and get some tips to see if you could beat your existing lap time in one of your cars. Maybe ex stig or any racing car driver abit like the you did with archie...

your 911 T is beautiful, I would love to have one in the future, but I think it is like a "cheap" version of the gt3 Touring. To me the touring looks a bit better and with the NA engine sounds also better (991.2 GT3 Touring is my favorite modern car). Anyway your T is stunning.

The Carrera T really is a corker! As for noise limits? The CGT is music! Go for broke and buy the Slantnose if it really is keenly priced, what you need is a little bit of financial "jiggery pockery" as a colleague of mine in car sales used to say. Big thumbs up for the Cayman R and 964 RS. Great to see TGE enjoying the T on track. On another note I gather that Classic Giveaways will donate to a charity from each contest. How about a donation towards the Nurburg area flood disaster? Guys like fellow UA-camr Misha Charoudin are battling daily to help the poor souls affected. I am astonished that many UA-camrs who have sought Misha's support and constantly bang on about how much they love the Nurburgring (TGE not included) are not now putting out special announcements to help amplify the voice on Misha's channel. I am sure that any support that TGE and his community can give would be enormously appreciated. Thank you.
We’ve got a pre decided charity & have causes I support in other ways too - but I also think it’s very telling that none of the usual names do anything with their platforms for charity at all, literally nothing in years from any of them. In any direction. So the ‘ring thing doesn’t surprise me!
