The music and voice is so calming I’m considering doing my entire flight in backfly.

I recently did my SIV with Jocky and his crew, learned a lot and had an awesome time. We finished off with a flight to Butterfly Valley, cold beers and yoga on the beach. 😊

the video quality has skyrocketed! thanks for sharing this lesson with us. stalls are scaring but very useful, being able to see it from so close makes it look so easy!

This was great! Wish I'd have gotten in for fall's SIV/acro dates as my stalls certainly need work ;) See you around the LZ Jockey!

Great video. Hope to see you back in Turkey next year to practice 2 stage stalls with you. As you say, they are much cleaner than full stalls with the wing flapping around passed the back fly stage.

Great content, with lots of details, appreciated!
I practice stalls on my wings, but I didn't have a case in flight that I need to initiate it to reset. So, I'm curious in which situation would you actually do it?
I imagine that in "real life" scenario, wing will be deformed in different ways, hence the entrance will be quite different than going into backfly from well formed wing as we do it on SIV's.
Also, there's an "auto-rotation" technique that seems more efficient to do when having a cravate, do you agree?

Why are you not teaching to tuck your legs in for pod harness users? That's a mindbogglingly simple solution to avoid getting twisted.

      That’s what jockey always teaches

A good reason might be because in the wild, your legs are out, thermal stall happens, is there enough time to yoink them in?

I only have about 30 hours of flight time so far but I really want to get into a SIV course.

Hi Drake. You would benefit from a good course that respects your experience and confidence now.

These are fabulous videos but for the life of me I cannot imagine having any wing flying under
Defect and intentionally stalling. If it will launch it will fly. If it will fly it will land.

Grand. Question, my glider has tip steering toggles, I usually fly with both tip steering toggles and brakes in hand. Should I use both toggles when initiating a two stage backfly? I fly the APCO F3 paramotor.

I would be careful 2 stage stalling a PPG glider. You need to train on a normal glider first as they can dive fast if you miss it.

@@JockySandersonparagliding it's a large 26 meter, so it's a bit slower to respond than a wing with heavier loading. Also, i have the apco hybrid tandem and hybrid small wing... any advise on a stall and backfly with an apco hybrid wing?

Reflex don't love to much going in full stall, and they are powerful to come out, get yourself an SIV if you already don't be in one. i can do in reflex everything i just respect full stall and it's one of the maneuvers that's so fun to do.

as soon as you feel comfortable with controlling the brake pressure as you ease up the brakes. as soon as possible really.
