I'm a 35 year old straight man, and every time Steve looks at the camera and smiles while shaking, I smirk like a teeenage girl who's crush just waved at them!
The step-by-step instructions make it easy for viewers to recreate these drinks at home and enjoy a taste of the tropical paradise. The enthusiasm and expertise of the mixologists really shine through, and their passion for rum cocktails is infectious.
I like to take a clear solo cup, put 3/4 of an inch of spiced rum on the bottom, half and half some ice & sprite on top. Then meter my straw in the cup to get sips of soda and rum as I want

Love to learn a lot from Mr. Steve the Bartender he is so clear in explaining all the ingredients for every cocktails with such a lovely & pleasant smile 🤗
Here in Brazil we have a classic cocktail called "Bombeirinho" (Little Fireman). Which is Cachaça, lime and grenadine. It doesn't seem like they originated from the same place, but I thought it was interesting the name and ingredients being quite similar.
I’ve learned a lot from your videos, now I am collecting some beverages and started to make or copy some of your mixed cocktail drinks, thank you so much.
I love when u shake It, cheers from México!! Thanx a lot for the recipes, I've recently started my Bar, so You help me so much. Thank You wonderful teacher!!
Well now, I beg to differ BUT Bacardi IS a Cuban rum based in Puerto Rico, the company moved to Bermuda as their new headquarters then expanded to NY and Puerto Rico for distillery (yes I know a bit of history lesson of this legendary rum company) Havana Club however is a case of stolen identity from a Cuban family named Arechabala who owned Havana Club rum which was confiscated by the Cuban Government after the revolution and stole the name, Bacaradi has since tried to reestablish the Archabala's company name and bought their original recipe, still trying to take back the stolen name. (yes I know to much information, hope it's interesting) Thanks for the wonderful recipes love this channel.
The Fireman's is basically a daiquiri. Rum, Lime, and a sweetener. I didn't know it had a name but just experimenting I made one by chance about a week ago...sans oeuf... no egg. A Pomegranate Daiquiri. It's quite good. I use Plantation 3 Star. I made a variation of Rum, Lime and Apricot liqueur recently which has been a hit. Rum, Lime and Cream of Coconut is quite good too. "You put de lime in de coconut..." It's fun and easy to experiment.
I just made the Fireman's Sour this afternoon, and it is so good! I'm glad I discovered your channel. You do a great job of making things simple for those of us who are beginners. Plus, I love the variety and creativity that goes into your drinks. Thanks my friend!
One thing I really appreciate is that you use easy to find and nicely priced liquors. The fact that you can make these really nice drinks with standard booze makes me wanna try them more!
Steve's smile is so genuine and happy. Steve, this the first of your videos I've ever seen, but you're such a friendly and welcoming-feeling channel that I have to sub to you. I love experimenting with mixed drinks at home or with my friends. You make great videos, have a wonderful rest of the evening and keep up the outstanding work
I make my Piña Coladas with frozen really ripe pineapple and mix of rum and Malibu as the coconut creme often lacks much coconut flavor if you get the unsweetened kind.
@@StevetheBartender_ Might be better, but I find that at some of the sweetened ones have a really strong artificial flavoring taste to them. Maybe I just need to find a better brand. Either way I think the Malibu gives it a good flavor.
Hello Steve, I love your smile when you shake the shaker. I know it's not going to happen but I'd love to hire you for my daughter's upcoming wedding in California. Love your video. Thanks.
You need to do a caipirinha. Brazilian"version" of the mojito but a bit better imo You muddle lime wedges and sugar together at the bottom of a glass to make a quick "limeade" add cachaça then add crushed ice to the top. Garnish with a lime wheel.
Forgot to mention, Cachaça is technically not a rum. It is made with fresh sugarcane juice instead of molasses but it produces a more clean finish that is a bit sweeter but also a bit grassy and fresh tasting. (Could do a video on the liquor itself??) The caipirinha should taste almost like straight limeade but it usually has a high alcohol content and is used by locals to get foreigners messed up. (I know that from experience)
My favourite would have to be piña colada. I’m not a big rum fan (causes headaches). Generally when I make my own, I blend the ingredients and add the rum afterwards and stir. It makes it slightly more pungent. 👌🏼
Thanks for the recipes, bro! I didn't know how to mix water and ice and thanks to you many of my friends think I am a real bartender (of course I always give all the credit to you). Thank you!!
Not sure if there is an equivalent in Australia, but for those in the States, I cannot recommend highly enough that you get Mexican Coke for your Cuba Libre. Those are made with cane sugar instead of corn syrup, and the flavor is far superior. They're available in the "Latin Foods" aisle st your supermarket. Cheers!
The equivalent in Australia is just Australian coke. Like you said the difference is the real sugar and Australian coke is made with real sugar. Infact you will find America is the only country to make their soft drink or "soda" with corn syrup.
You can try it without the egg white, though it's not technically a 'sour' at that point, I think. It'll be a little thinner at the mouth feel, but the taste shouldn't change much.
If you want ti use bacardi (wich many people use) for a cuba libre i highly recomend carta oro (the brown/golden rum) it relly gives a betyer taste and bacardi themselvs recomend carta oro instead of carta blanc.
Married to a fireman for 25 years so yes Ive had many a firemans sour. Its the signature drink often at annual banquets. I never knew the original was made with egg white though! I think all the ones Ive had were shaken with sour mix? Interesting channel. Im new here but all the smile comments certainly make sense and Ill be back for sure!
the initial pour of the fireman's sour didn't quite make it to the rim of the glass, what was done after the fact to get that foam to rise? time, or was there some extra that needed to be made
So we got 1 dry Steve shake, and 2 dry shakes. Its a good day. You are the best drink maker I have ever seen. I am not a fan of pina colada, but yours looks good, and not too sweet. Not a fan of soda in drinks. Egg white apparently is good, but frightens me, So I would choose the hurricane first, then the planters punch. I love how you make your own syrups, no chemicals and clean grenadine. One of your best vids.
Interesting planters punch! At the tiki bar I work at, our planters punch uses a spice based liquor with Demerara syrup! I actually prefer the way you made it because I’m not a huge fan of the 5 spice liquor we use so thank you :)
Wow the fireman sour looks so delicious 🤤 I loved them all ! A lot of bars also use normal cream inside the pina colada interesting that you don’t need so many ingredients
I like Cuba Libre the most, it's so simple to make and it's tasty, I often change white rum with Malibu it's so tasty with a little bit of that coconut flavor from Malibu. Hurricane is similar to Zombie? I made Zombie few times, it's great. I don't like Pina Colada because it's too heavy and I don't like creamy cocktails.
You took me back a good 40 yrs ago at the bar with these. We use lime instead of lemon with Cuba Libres. I havent had the fireman's that I know of .. or is it, just can't remember 🙃😄 cheers/thanks
Never seen the fireman sour made with an egg white...it is actually one of the few cocktails made with an 'egg yolk'...1/2 to be exact. Might want to check your recipe on that one.
Hi steve the bartender guy..😊 how come your maraschino cherries are so dark? I buy mine from Dan Murphy's.. they are a bright red cherry with a bright red stem.. Love your cocktails ..
I’m not what the difference is in the production.. but the Sandburst ones that Dan Murphys sells look like those glacé cherries (candied).. Try making some next. Cherry season! 🍒

Yes, but it’s made in Puerto Rico so I tend to refer to it as Puerto Rican.. thanks for the extra info 🙏

I like the hurricane... Will definitely be trying that.
Superb. Keep making more.
Dude, the fireman's sour is my new favorite drink. Ever.
you are the reason i bought a rum the other day in order to try all of these cocktails :P

I like this channel. One thing I do, is I use the ice from the shaker, not new ice. Especially with a margarita.
I make my Piña Coladas with frozen really ripe pineapple and mix of rum and Malibu as the coconut creme often lacks much coconut flavor if you get the unsweetened kind.
Best to use cream of coconut which as added sugar.. I didn't mention this in the video :(
@@StevetheBartender_ Might be better, but I find that at some of the sweetened ones have a really strong artificial flavoring taste to them. Maybe I just need to find a better brand. Either way I think the Malibu gives it a good flavor.

Cuba libre and the hurricane would be my favorite rum cocktails.
As a rather inexperienced drinker, it may be a bit too powerful for me, but i think i'd like to give a Hurricane a try!
They are pretty boozy! 😂
He’s my best bartender to watch. I learned a lot the simple and easy way, all are so awesome cocktails. I Love it. Thanks Steve. Cheers 😁
They all look good; I especially like Pina Colada because I like coconut.
I tried the hurricane with your tutorial. Thank you. Easy and very good !
I love this channel! Can you teach us how you spin the shaker cup like that.
I’m a one trick pony 😬
my favorite rum cocktail: Rum and lemonade, I call it sweeet lemonade ya sweeet lemonade
I've made that. Works with either light or dark rum. You get two different flavors. Both good.

Fireman sour and hurricane look amazing
I made the daiquiri from volume 1 and it was so good!

I had never heard about the fireman's sour. I''ll surely try it soon. Thank you!

Thanks for the recipes, bro! I didn't know how to mix water and ice and thanks to you many of my friends think I am a real bartender (of course I always give all the credit to you). Thank you!!
You’re welcome bro! 🙌
Being a latinamerican i never heard before the cuba libre was maded with white rum, we use the gold one.
Regards.
You are Awesome, you have inspired me to turn make cocktails a hobby.
I love planter’s punch. I use the smugglers cove recipe but I split Plantation OFTD (1oz) and Botran 12 (2oz)
How can you not like this man?
I can not like him because he's a *ginger **_fuck._* Gingers are not human, they're lizard aliens.
I would totally choose the fireman's sour but planters punch also made me curious!

I would definitely try the first four. The last one is pretty, but the egg white is a turn off for me. Thanks for sharing.
I've made several sour cocktails with egg whites! I can guarantee you don't taste anything eggy! It just adds a very slight thickness to the drink.
You can try it without the egg white, though it's not technically a 'sour' at that point, I think.
It'll be a little thinner at the mouth feel, but the taste shouldn't change much.
You can try it without or use a foamer (bar supply store sells it) or use aquafaba (water from the can of chick peas) Steve also did a video on that.
If you want ti use bacardi (wich many people use) for a cuba libre i highly recomend carta oro (the brown/golden rum) it relly gives a betyer taste and bacardi themselvs recomend carta oro instead of carta blanc.
Cuba Libre for me, though the hurricane is tempting

Fireman’s Sour because I’ve never had it and it looks delicious!
It works surprisingly well!!
Love doing a nice Cuba Libre with black rum and Mexican Coke!
Hi Steve, just wondering if the cuba libre needs lemon or lime juice because the rind looked yellow. Or does it not matter?
neil m it’s with lime - it was just very light/yellow..
I'd probably go for the Fireman's Sour. I need more grenadine recipes to go with my go to Scofflaw.
