Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it's only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice's name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.

Well, he and Tim Burton have remained close friends for all those years, even though they haven't worked together professionally very much. So with the wig, makeup, and familiar costume, it was probably very easy for him to slip right back into the role's mindset.

I've always wondered the rules in this regard. Do the 3 have to be said in rapid succession or does the 3rd time have an unlimited limit? Like that's how he gets summoned, Lydia finally says the third Beetlejuice years later.

The Day O scene is likely the most iconic from the movie, but we love the theme from Danny Elfman (especially if you watched the cartoon). Please don't replace it, have them both!

Took me off guard when i saw this at the theater. As soon as i saw that red "barn/bridge", i was like "what? Beetlejuice?!". Had no clue they were finally making a sequel. It's good to see him again haha
You know it’s crazy that Michael Keaton played Beetlejuice before he played Batman and of course he goes over 30 years without playing Batman reprises his character and then after that reprises his role Beetlejuice. Really glad after all this time he had an opportunity to play this character again.

The interesting thing with Keaton reprising his role is that his age actually adds to the character. He looks more like what you expect Beetlejuice should look like. In the original you can tell that he was a younger man that they were trying to make look old and ragged. Now he’s actually at the appropriate age for the character.

Keaton's performance in the first movie is up there with Carey's Ace Ventura, Sellers' Inspector Clouseau, Ferrell's Ron Burgundy and Myers' Austin Powers/Dr. Evil, as one of the best of all time.
We lost Glenn Shadix (Otho) in real life, but is still alive out there in story, meanwhile, Jeffrey Jones (Charles) is still walking the earth, but they kill off his character.

I didn't even grow up with the original, so I don't have any real sentimental attachment to it, but this gave me chills. And it's so full of that witty humor that I've always loved in Tim Burton films. I actually felt like that was ironically absent in Wednesday for some reason. But you can tell that working on this awakened some of that old energy for everyone involved.
Keaton is still iconic. Winona is just as enchanting as ever. Ortega is a perfect new addition. And they didn't need to cram the entire plot of the film into a 60-second trailer.
This is gonna be so good!

That iconic scene at Academy Awards, when Arnold and DeVito provoqued him and he reacts with the eyes and fingers inviting them to fight, of course kiding, but showing he´s still up to any challenge. Michael Keaton is Batman to so many, but he has always been Beetlejuice to me. The first film was my introduction to Keaton, and was my favorite film when I first saw it at 6 years old. I've never been more excited for a film in my life.

I really didn’t want sequel to this, but with part of the original cast and naming it Beetlejuice Beetlejuice instead of Beetlejuice 2 has me excited honestly.

@@Gamxin I mean..... You act like they don't exist, but Happy Halloween, Alien Romulus, just to name a few really good modern sequels. And Prey, too. I see it like this: If the teaser trailer alone can make it seem like it's more for money than love, then you know it's gonna be a bad sequel. This, this actually has a really good vibe. Plus, some good mysteries.
And when Beetlejuice 3 comes out, it will be iconic because you know

I know everyone is excited to see Keaton reprise his role, but it is Winona i love ❤️. She really deserves a big comeback! I know Stranger Things is a hit, but she is so underused in that, Winona was kooky, the outsider, but still managed to be the IT girl back in the day.

Yes. My faves of her were Heathers, Edward Scissorhands, Mermaids, Beetlejuice, Reality Bites and The Crucible…. Just remembered Dracula, Little Women and The Age of Innocence …
I honestly was kinda disappointed when I found out this will be more centered around Beetlejuice and her daughter (jenna). Hopefully we still get lots of interactions between her and Beetlejuice in this one. I loved their chemistry in the original

All these years later and everyone stepped back into that world effortlessly. There was so much attention to detail in the trailer alone, it really feels like that world has been perfectly recreated.
They literally rebuilt the house. Insane work!
Having not watched the original, id have to take your word! I love every name involved, and will def have to check out the og.
So much work went into it, if it bombs I will feel bad for everyone involved. The Flash was horrible and it bombed. I'm sure Keaton knew it would bomb, too. I really hope this is good. Big part of my childhood.
Even if this sequel bombs (younger generation), people who grew up with it back in 1988 & the 90's will thoroughly enjoy this ride!

Same here. I might be more excited if they remade the Goonies BUT they couldn't because you'd need new kids and that would ruin it so better to just leave the Goonies alone as the masterpiece it is.

I was horrified that they were doing a reboot until I saw Wynona Rider. Then I was happy. Then I saw Keaton and now won’t wait for it to stream. Theater time.
At this point, I think we all got PTSP from reboots, I was also scared they will ruin another great movie 😂
Burton wouldn't allow anything less.
Reflecting these previous replies, I would add, it's hard not to feel immediately galvanized by a re-ensemble cast, a phenomenon most of us have been crying out loud for now several decades past. And finally somebody said, "hey, why don't we just bring back all the same characters?"

@@davidjohnson5703 Yeah and I think it's good to theater time a movie like this. It puts in perspective what people want and we want movies we think are actually gonna be good to pay the extra money to see it like that. In a case like this, "take my money" 😊
