- Bratwurst is one of the “perfect” meals. It is seasoned meat within a casing and all you have to do is cook them. But what is the best way? If you want the easiest and most flavorful then look no further. Watch this video and I will show you.
Here there’s no flareups, no charred skin, no underdone insides because people are hungry and the coals are dying out. Just crispy brown skin and perfectly rendered insides. Bake some frozen steak fries to make this extra special. I stagger them slightly so the fries are nice and hot as the brats are cooled enough to handle.
This is the perfect travel meal for a cabin trip, an AirBNB, or even a hotel with a kitchenette. You could do this in a Dutch oven if you are camping outdoors. You can cook brats perfect every time with this method.

Preheat and put in @ 425 F
After 20 minutes flip, add onions and peppers. Insert fries.
After 20 minutes flip again. Flip fries.
After 15-20 min, take out brats and let cool.
After about 10 minutes take out fries.

If you really want the best brat ever.., deep fry! I'm talking about fresh Sheboygan style, not the preboiled ones, although they're good to. When the brats are brown and float, they are done. They have a great snap, are juicy. I had a chef from a stared restaurant tell me he never had a brat so good.
