The magnetic cables are awesome. Nice to see that Simagic is now also using this system on their new GT Neo Wheel when u order the seperat System for third party wheelbases.
I generally prefer wheel rims without car branding for the same reasons you mention. I do have a Porsche GT3 Cup wheel but it's unbranded. I'd even go further and say I'd prefer a wheel without the wheel manufacturer logo on it or at least for it to not be too "loud".
Top review! Thank you for staying unbiased! I like the wheel. 320mm would not put me off. The logo is makes me doubt it, as I don't drive AMG much. Like the overall layout etc. Love the anodized red elements. But it's hard to choose this over the F-Core, as that has dual clutch and the toggle switches. For both wheels, I would love 2 mode rotary/tumb switches, but that's not a dealbreaker. F-Pro ergonomics are not my favorite and that wheel looks a bit busy, or 'cluthered'.
The Merc emblem no bueno driving a Porsche or BMW. I’ve got the x-29 and the thumb encoders not having them is a little disappointing for ease of use and not taking hands off the wheel. 320 is big but let’s see if Daniel Morad will be using this rim to replicate his gt3/gt3 Mercs
With this wheel alone who needs a button box Jeez .😅 The magnetic cables 👌🏼 and yes couldn't agree more about the double logo deal... never been a fan of that myself. Wow what an excellect review DS. Seems like a great wheel for those who can afford it. good stuff
It triggers my OCD too. And i made that “mistake” twice. I am making the same mistake 3 times. The wheel is amazing though and the price is even better.
The GSI FPE feels like a 320 mm wheel due to them measuring at the narrowwest point near the index fingers ( it widens beyond 310 in the lower grip). It is also super heavy. Would have loved to see these overlapping or side by side for reference.
@Dan Suzuki "Thank you for this review, much appreciated. I'm hesitating between this model and the V1 Tony Kahan from GSI. The GSI has a Dual Clutch, is it very useful to have or is it just a 'nice to have'? What would you recommend between the two? I'm looking for a wheel dedicated to GT3 and GT4. Thanks and keep up the great work!"
Great review, wheel looks nice and simple but it is too big for me, i`m saving my money for the new ascher wheels that were announced almost a year ago, hopefully they will release them soon
I ordered mine an hour ago and I'm definitely going to put a sticker on it... I almost only drive a Porsche... but I think it'll be an SRS sticker or something because I honestly don't want to see the star all the time ;-)
As always a very informative and honest review! If I were an AMG-Fanboy, I would get this right away, especially for this price tag, which REALLY surprised me! Unfortunately I am (still, for some reason) a big Porsche-Fan . And considering how much the GRID 911 RSR replica wheel costs, I think at least half of the money goes onto Porsche Motorsport's bank account. So this 'low price' (which it really isn't! We are still talking about super expensive gaming and simulation hardware, no matter how sophisticated these have become) really suprised me and I think this is a good developement.
Hey Dan, not sure why your cube controls application is not being able to be dragged around. I am able to drag the program around on my triples. As a note, I have other issues with my triples when it comes to programs. The issue may be specific to the GC drivers. Great review of the wheel!
Hello, in the end do you recommend this wheel ? I am fairly new to sim racing and I would like to buy my first good wheel without having to constantly want to upgrade in the future. So my reasoning is to try to identify what "premium" wheel to choose without going crazy either (more than 1K euros seems too much for a wheel tbh). I'm just looking for a wheel that is premium enough, has good buttons, led buttons cuz I'm a geek (but not 100% obligatory), a good size, large gear pedals, and that works with my Moza R9 :D I was interested in this wheel (not interested in clutch at all) but I'm afraid by its size... despite it seems the rest seems to tick all the boxes for me. Is it a wheel you would recommend ? Or Any other wheel worth checking maybe ? Mainly for GT3. Thanks :)
Thanks for the review - I gave you a like, but switched off as soon as I heard it was 320mm diameter. Nothing to do with you, just that I have no interest in a 320mm GT style rim.
What he says in the first secons is the correct german pronunciation of "Mercedes AMG" (Aufrecht Melcher Großaspach). But even though I am German, due to watching english content of F1, I meanwhile expect to hear Mur-say-dees Ey-Am-Gee everywhere. 😆
Nice wheel. But I always prefer wheels that are not tied to a specific brand. It's ok to have a Fanatec or Cube Controls or GSR logo on the wheel but not a car manufacturer. As you said: Driving a Ferrari with a Mercedes branded wheel is not so satisfying...
Not only have I been waiting to check out this wheel, at 32cm it is perfect for my next wheel as I wanted a 32cm GT wheel. Given I'm still very happy with my Cube Controls F-Pro, I think I'll be buying a Merc wheel very quickly, even if Merc isn't my favourite car brand.
the buttons felt very squishy the exact point of activation was hard to feel and the rotaries were very light to rotate. Might just be the showcase wheel tho..@@DanSuzuki
Looks great. Glad the CUBE logo is not blue
The magnetic cables are awesome. Nice to see that Simagic is now also using this system on their new GT Neo Wheel when u order the seperat System for third party wheelbases.
How you don't have 100k subs is beyond me. Good work as always.

Hey Dan, great review. Any news on the release date for this wheel?
Only 700?? I assumed this was over 1k
It's nearly 940€ with VAT and Shipping to Germany. That puts that wheel in the same spot as the grid mpx.
Agree with the Logo issue. I wish they'd have kept just the Mercedes logo on the front instead of having both.
ONLY BUY BRANDED WHEEL ONCE YOU GOT A MAIN ONE, I bought a GSI FPEV2 and now saving for the AMG for when i specifically drive the AMG
With this wheel alone who needs a button box Jeez .😅

OOOOOO I've been waiting for a review on this and who better to do it!
It triggers my OCD too. And i made that “mistake” twice. I am making the same mistake 3 times. The wheel is amazing though and the price is even better.
Excellent no BS review.
Wow, compared to the fanatec bmw steering wheel, this is a great deal!

The AMG wheel feels MUCH bigger than the FPE.
No dual clutch will be a real deal breaker for some. Cool wheel nontheless.
Mercedes loves big wheels, the one on the AMG GT3 is 330 or something like that
Honestly the car itself feels like a car you use a fat wheel with, i always drive the AMG GT2/3/4 in Iracing and ACC
How does it compare to the GSI GXL Pro? That is a similar size I believe
This is really nice! But no Dual Clutch is a downer
@Dan Suzuki

Beautiful wheel and not a bit annoyed by the Mercedes Logo

Can you use the RGB lights as RPM indicators ?

What a wheel!
Can you help me please, I can't connect it by bluetooth. The right LED should flash in blue, but it's not, so I can't find it with my pc bluetooth
I’ve been waiting YEARS for an AMG wheel to come out that’s not custom made
How do you get the buttons to flash in simhub for flags etc?
Hi, There is something I am not clear about. While this Bluetooth connection is still working with Simhub? Thanks and good video.
Yes, it works with Simhub just fine

“Developed with Mercedes I am gay”

🤣
@@driflysh4597 Ahhh fair enough. 🤙
Nice wheel very interested, but no dual clutch, not even an option for more money that kills it.
Does anyone know which headset Dan's using?
I know! 🤣 It's the Beyerdynamic DT797
I'd just go with the generic (if you can call ut that) Cube Controls wheel for $200 less. No OCD to worry about when running any car. 😅
When will they release it?
Nice wheel. But I always prefer wheels that are not tied to a specific brand. It's ok to have a Fanatec or Cube Controls or GSR logo on the wheel but not a car manufacturer. As you said: Driving a Ferrari with a Mercedes branded wheel is not so satisfying...
1st comment :D nice review, 320 is huge and I thought my GXL was big haha release date?
Not only have I been waiting to check out this wheel, at 32cm it is perfect for my next wheel as I wanted a 32cm GT wheel. Given I'm still very happy with my Cube Controls F-Pro, I think I'll be buying a Merc wheel very quickly, even if Merc isn't my favourite car brand.
Best is to have 20 different wheels for 20 different car models. So you use each wheel for their own model but then we will get bankrupt 😅
Not a fan of having two logos on the front…should just be Mercedes imo
It would trigger my OCD too
Ahhh Em Ghee
I had this in my hands on sim expo and the buttons+rotaries felt pretty bad..
Really? That's surprising - what did you dislike about them?
the buttons felt very squishy the exact point of activation was hard to feel and the rotaries were very light to rotate. Might just be the showcase wheel tho..@@DanSuzuki
$709 CHEAP??? WHAT???
for simracers who know the market, yes it's cheap
@@stryker1992 that's not you included I see. FULL Fanatec gear here, bro. Step aside and let the real ones talk here.
its not a replica just a badge stuck on it? pointless
It’s a shame: Too big, two logos, no double clutch = NO GO 🙈
1st (this minute)
Nope! I’d never buy another cube controls wheel. I’ve had two and they just kept on sticking with the gears. NO THANKS!!!
