Tony Hutson: Y'all Gonna Tick Me Off, and I'll Preach Mad

- In the sermon A Good Church is Like a Good Woman, preached at Hopewell Independent Baptist Church during their winter revival in 2022, Tony Hutson tells the congregation that they are going to "tick me off" and that he will "preach mad" at them. Later in the sermon he is screaming at them because someone apparently looked down during the service.
Original sermon link: • A Good Church Is Like ...
To justify his anger, Tony Hutson quotes a portion of Ephesians 4:26, "Be ye angry," and says he likes that verse. I have heard several pastors use those three words to justify getting angry without using any other part of that verse to look at it in context.
What else does the Bible say about a preacher? How about I Timothy 3 saying a bishop is one who is "not a brawler?" How about Titus 1 which says a bishop should be "not selfwilled, not soon angry?" How about II Timothy 4 which states that when preaching, a preacher must reprove, rebuke, and exhort "with all longsuffering and doctrine." Pulling a verse out of context to tell others that you may "preach mad" at them does not sound like either "longsuffering" or "doctrine."
They keep looking down because they are trying to find what he is preaching about in the Bible...
He's never met a buffet he didn't like. Needs to preach on gluttony. Like he never eats out lol.
Tony Hutson is a King of the Hill character.
Don’t insult King of the Hill! Lol!
So his merits of a good woman are whether or not they can sew a button on a shirt…. Here’s the scary thing about guys like this. They set their personal opinions at the same authority of Scripture. Legalism at its finest.
He may not find a good a woman but he ain’t having any trouble finding a good buffet!
"Hey, is everybody ok?"
I sincerely doubt it.
Yeah I’m sure the women are not but they can’t speak in church so.
A good message on fasting would be probably where I would start
Obviously you don't have a clue what scriptural fasting really is. I'm sure you study the Bible in depth every day though, you could definitely set the preacher straight and get him lined out.
@@No6edtime gluttony is a sin 🤷🏻♂️
@@s.l.2409 one that I’m sure you haven’t ever done, among all of the other sins you don’t commit. Naturally y’all couldn’t sit on here bashing someone else for their sin unless you had none of your own. Please, teach us how to live blameless like you do!
@@No6edtime I go to an IFB church and you are definitely a programmed hardliner lol
@@s.l.2409 I don’t know what that means but I do not go to an IFB church, I just know what you’re doing is wrong and God isn’t going to bless it. It’s all well and good to disagree with someone else’s beliefs but to get on the internet and just slam them is of a critical spirit.
He should preach on Gluttony and Sloth.
They stopped sewing buttons on his shirts because everyone they did they’d just pop off. HAYMEN!
I am IFB but this is just hateful spirited. The Spirit of God does not bear witness with this type of preaching.

Why didn't he complete that verse?
@@raymatthews4319 That is the $64,000 question, my friend! I'm pretty sure it's just so he can justify being angry.
None of that changes the fact that it still says be ye angry
@@hitlard5305 Commands you to be angry, or tells you how to handle yourself when you are? The Bible also says, "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice;" which comes not far after the 1/2 verse that he quotes. (Ephesians 4:31)
How does, "Be ye angry," fit into Ephesians 4:31 if you leave off the, "and sin not," part? How does that fit into the context of, "Let not the sun go down on your wrath," which is part of that verse? Context matters, my friend. The Bible is telling us how to handle our anger if we become angry. It's not telling us to be angry.
@@IFBPreachers it said “be ye angry AND sin not”
That means both
He might not be able to "find a good woman" but he obviously can find a good buffet.
AMEN BROTHER TONY!! This is good preaching man!!
I couldn't listen to this guy for 5 minutes.
I'm sure he loses sleep every single night over that. You probably like Joel Olsteen and Joyce Meyer.
@@No6edtime boy you got a nasty nasty judgmental spirit inside you wow. When it comes to looking down on other the IFB boys are KING OF THE HILL. Always sneering and dismantling others around them.
@@s.l.2409 interesting enough I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody said the same thing about you. Tell me more about all of the things wrong with everyone else. You sure must have attained spiritually if you can correct and criticize everybody else.
@@No6edtime coming from a Ruckman follower it’s hard for me to take you serious. Ruckman was the most slanderous, divisive, racist, mean spirited scorner the IFB ever knew. The stuff that guy is on record for saying is wild!
@@s.l.2409 nobody said anything about Ruckman. I just can’t wait to see all of the rewards in heaven you get for your UA-cam ministry of correction.
I was waiting on him to assault one of the women cause they ate at the devils food aka Mcdonalds😂
Anyway it’s just ridiculous.
I can't find any Tony Hudson sermons on gluttony. Can you help me look?
Not to mention the snarkiness and sarcasm he used showing his ' righteous anger ' and contempt towards those ladies.
That is one of the things that gets me is the overall way in which many IFB pastors come across as they speak. They talk about "reprove, rebuke, and exhort," but forget the next words "with all longsuffering and doctrine." Instead it seems like it is "put down, degrade, and 'rip your face off' with all sarcasm and condescension."
@@IFBPreachers That's what we call cherry picking scripture that's convenient for oneself. Scripture also says somewhere in one of the 📚 of CORINTHIANS not to make one feel excessive sorrow for an error but to restore them. Naturally, they don't regard that either.
@@debbiebrown4420 so you don't even know where the scripture is in the bible but you're going to set the preacher straight? 10-4
Wish you would show us how it’s done
@@No6edtime 2 CORINTHIANS 2:5-8 is the passage speaking against causing one to be swallowed up in excessive sorrow.
Hilarious. Few comics this funny. I'll be back.
Pulpit bully and yes men, dangerous combination.
Things you won’t find in the New Testament: playing Sunday morning dress up in order to honor God, Christians being commanded to tithe on their income, the teaching that the Bible will only be preserved in a language which didn’t exist at the time the Bible was written, addressing a man with the special religious title of “pastor,” that Christians should expect to escape tribulation, teaching that someone can live in an unrepentant lifestyle of sin and still go to heaven because “once saved (prayed), always saved,” that it is ok to divorce and remarry, that it is ok to join the military and kill your nations enemies as a Christian, to demand your right to own a deadly weapon so you can fight the government if they try to take it from you, to get involved in earthly politics, that the frequency of your presence in a special religious building with a determines how godly you are.
Wow wow wow you hit it on the head. Amen brother
That is one problem I have found with those that do teach the right gospel; is that sooner or later they also use verses out of context, sometimes those verses don't hurt anything when used that way and other times, it is just so out of place and wrong. Verses in Hebrews get used that way often. One time they are used to point out the loss of the mission of Israel and other times they are taught to prove Gods discipline on a wayward believer. How does that happen?
That's something I've noticed for many years. It seems that a lot of IFB pastors have no understanding of context or for religious history. They preach whatever idea comes to their minds when they read something. I've heard pastors take three, two, or even one word out of a verse and preach a whole message without any regard to what the Scripture is actually saying.
I guess you're the foremost authority on the context of the scriptures and how preaching and teaching should really be done huh? Wish you would start a bible college so you could educate the rest of us and help us all be more spiritual.
@@No6edtimeShut up
@@No6edtime, He’s not claiming to be an expert who can teach everyone else. He’s saying that his personal discernment is setting off red flags. Do you not rely on discernment? Do you believe everyone always uses the Bible verses in context? Obviously you do. Based on your comment.
@@shawnglass108 that’s not true. He has targeted a group of believers who preach a certain way and criticizing everything they do. Have you spent any time on this channel? It’s all they do. Nothing positive or encouraging at all. Just bashing independent baptist preachers. He’s literally saying IFB pastors have no understanding of context or religious history. The truth is because preachers teach topical and not all expository they are claiming they are arrogant and ignorant. My spiritual discernment raises every red flag when things like this are going on. Many preachers have chosen a select group of words or a phrase to preach messages. Just because they don’t teach the context for half an hour before they get started, doesn’t mean they are doing something wrong. There are accounts in the Bible where the same thing happens 😂
How about he finish the verse. Be ye angry and sin not:let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Ephesians 4:26🤨
What fun is that? Just convince the folks that the Bible gives you the right to be angry at them whenever you get "ticked off." lol!
the sun goes down to end the day. the context of that verse is that you don't stop being mad about things that are worthy of being angry about. Sin, the devil, etc. Obviously it's a shame bro tony can't go to your bible college and learn from you.
@@No6edtime Right! I havent ever gone to a college. I'd prolly most definitely get kicked out of an IFB bible college on the first week or so if they knew what I believed🤣
@@edwardhershberger6267 So what exactly is it that gives you the right to set the preacher straight? What makes you right and all of them wrong? It's laughable how prideful and arrogant you people are, sitting around on youtube criticizing everybody else's preaching. Guess God didn't call you to preach since you have nothing better to do with your time.
@@No6edtime So using your argument then, what makes you think you can criticize me? What I have a problem with is when IFB preachers or anyone else twist the plain teaching of the bible to say what they want it to say and not what it actually says, that's how you get extra biblical crap that isnt even commanded in the bible
No hate like Christian love
Would you provide a link to the full sermon?
The original sermon link is in the description of the video
This man needs to look in the mirror. This man buys his suits off the rack. Can I get an Amen
And people used to be under 350lbs
That which is flesh is flesh
Best part of this sermon is 2:32
If you gotta yell it’s cause your message is weak
This is not representative of a healthy church or a healthy church leader. I’m sad this is even on here.
2:21 haha
HAYMAN!
How could anyone sit under that!!!
Does he even know the Bible???
Putting woman down like that..I love to cook, I know how to sew…it’s done out of love, not a chore!
I never knew this kind of “church” existed..and I too of that people giving their tithing towards that…absolutely not!!!!
Fried chicken and mashed tater macaroni with extra cheese and macaroni salad eating and preaching big boar Baptist preaching
I love it Bless God
This man is not qualified to be a minister of the gospel (and probably never was qualified). I have been graciously blessed to be in the ministry for over 30 years now and this man is a complete embarrassment to the cause of Christ. Further, shame on the pastors that would allow this person to come into the flocks they are supposed to protect and allow him to scream and carry on. Those pastors are also NOT qualified for they are nothing more than hirelings. A real shepherd would never allow a wolf to come in and assault the people.
It’d take preaching like this to get the church half way right. Good preaching.
Your right Bro Amen that is good preachin
The ones that makes the comments are set
In weak chruches
Another display of ignorance and stupidity courtesy of an IFB pastor. Rude, arrogant, overweight, meaner than sin, angry, overbearing, cruel bullies. These NEED to be rebuked and shamed before all, so that others will fear to adopt their tactics. Between the money grubbing, abuse of all kinds, and just plain stupidity, God's people are persecuted both within and without the house of God. Time to clean house...
The "church" that he is "preaching" in is displaying an "anything goes" attitude toward Scripture. Who lets this filth into their pulpit?
All of you need to remember Proverbs 6:16-19. Doubt the salvation of anyone on any side that makes videos like this.
Pastors say outrageous things, and no one bats an eye. Someone highlights those outrageous things, and everyone loses their minds. Thankfully, my salvation doesn't have to be filtered through you or any other man, but through God and His Word. For that I am eternally grateful.
@@IFBPreachers nothing said was Anti Biblical or Anti Gospel. Put Muslims say crazy thing or Hindus or Mormonsand etc. But by you constantly attacking people who claim the same Christ, you claim you’re not hurting his ministry, you’re hurting the name of the Savior!
I’m sorry if somewhere down the line a IFB Preacher hurt you. I hope you find forgiveness for whoever it was and I’m not saying that cynically I’m saying that from the bottom of my heart. Please quit making these videos that bring such a bad name to our Savior.
@@londoncoinandcollectables7614 That's the argument that is always made. A pastor can say the most outrageous things, and the person who asks about it or mentions it is the one hurting the Savior. A pastor can even stand in the pulpit and demonize those who claim the same Savior, and somehow they aren't hurting the Savior when they do.
You say it's not anti Biblical, yet he literally said he was ticked off and was going to preach mad at them because someone looked away from him while he was speaking. He's using the Bible to justify his anger at the people and then blaming them for his anger. But again, if it isn't wrong for him to say it, if he's saying nothing wrong, how is it hurting the Savior to make a video about it? The video is just replaying his words. If it didn't hurt the Savior for him to say it, how is it hurting the Savior to replay it? If it is just and honest and true, it should be helping, not hurting. I mean, you can listen to the sermons that are up on UA-cam and hear the exact same thing.
@@IFBPreachers I am not justifying in any way, shape or form or fashion what is said, but the more that you spread this the more negative impact that it has. It is bad enough if it was even said, but then to make the video get it out there to have many more here, and see it. yes, you are doing more damage then if this video would’ve been left alone to those that chose to watch it. Find something more Christ edifying with your talent that obviously God gave you.
Quit preaching preferences. Preach the Bible
Imagine spending your time outside of work and dealing w kids, house, bills, etc…. Listening to this nonsense. Hope I live to see the day religion like this goes away in America. I honestly feel bad for the young folks born into this garbage.
Don't worry your one world religion will be here soon enough.
Culty much
This is not a real preacher
Good preaching!
Yeah you ought to exercise fork and spoon disclipine.
When you gonna stop preaching your opinion and preach the Word.
Enough of YOUR little fancy preaching! Pull out your BIBLE and let Gods powerful word do the work! Personally I go to church to hear Gods word. Not some fleshy man upset.
It's a shame what passes for preaching. Long on opinion and showmanship. Short on Bible and anything helpful. Smh
Hutson intimidated those young women, trying to get them to break God's commandment that women should stay silent in Church ( _1 Cor 14:34_ )
He is not their husband, _nor_ is he their father, yet he thinks these poor ladies are subject to him, to be yelled at and berated to give him an amen when he tells them they are useless women -- why would anyone give an amen to an accusor, especially when one has not been allowed to present a defence ?
And where were their actual fathers, allowing this impotent little demagogue to chastise and demean the daughters God has put in their care ?
Don't they realise they will answer to *The Lord* for allowing such precious treasures to be driven away from Christ by the rantings of this fool who doesn't meet the qualifications of an elder -- elders whom are called to demonstrate patience, not being prone to anger and not brawlers ? ( _2 Tim 4, 1 Tim 3, Titus 1_ )
I don't expect this comment to last long on the original channel, because bullies can't handle when anyone stands up to them -- but I tell you what, if you keep your children in this church you are allowing them to be abused by someone who can't handle the word of God, and who will push them into the arms of the world.
And Hutson will answer to Christ for his evil haranguing of the flock.
Abuse
What a weird sermon.
