I have the Titan set, and I'm happy with those so far. I'm sure I would like those too especially the warranty. I learned a long time ago to use the tool for what is designed to do and it will hold up just fine. Not everything is a hammer. Thanks Catus

The Titan ones are on sale right now on Amazon as well, I probably didn't need them, but that didn't stop me from picking them up.

I just picked them up for $5.40 shipped after using a $5 credit I had on Amazon (from…. Something?)
      Pretty darn good deal.

Never had a single problem with the lifetime warranty. I brought in tools I've used for years, all banged up. Simple trade.

Have a pair that works fine, I grabbed them when they were on sale and added a no exclusion coupon.

When were these extra long cutters on sale They just came out to the stores a couple weeks ago

@darrenporsch i guess sales price is the incorrect wording. I have a knack of getting things before they hit the shelf and usually the price is cheaper than when it gets a shelf sticker. The 12,17and 21 inch quick adjust pliers i had a few weeks before it got a slot on shelf and that price was 5,5 and 10 higher when it hit the shelf. The Quinn 3/4 drive accessories set went uo 10.00 also when it got a place on the shelf, had that for a few weeks to.. I consider that a sales price quite often there a store only has 1 or 2 of each prior to being set into store and often employees had no idea they had things until they opened the box and brought them forward.. when a shelf price when a location is created is higher that to me is kinda a sale price. I use to have people inform me of new things at sears back when tool territory gobbled up my money. I do miss that area

I have the old orange Pittsburgh long reach pliers, the new Icons, and the Snap On version at work. The old orange Pittsburgh pliers cut better than the Icons and are actually thicker than the Icons. I had bought the Icons to match my other pliers at home and move the Pittsburgh pliers to the pick your part bag. I still have not move the Pittsburgh pliers to the bag because the cut better than the Icon.

I got those in a couple of days ago, and the pair I received are pretty decent compared to many of the cheaper ones out there. The blades line up nicely, there's no play in the joint, and they open and close smoothly. I don't plan on using them to cut thick nails or anything like that. That's where I'd get out a pair of 8" or 10" bolt cutters anyway, so they should last me a while. I almost ordered the Titan, but there were too many negative reviews for me to order those off Amazon. I've done that before, and I hate getting something I've ordered and waited for, only to have to send them right back and wait for a replacement or refund. I did order the Icons, but at least if there was anything wrong with those, I could just run over to Harbor Freight and swap them out for a good pair. I can't fault their warranty. It's the closest thing to Sears' old Craftsman warranty I've seen.

I've had good luck with HF Icon. Some jobs, good enough, is good enough.

Long cutters & needle nose are indispensable for safety wire... reaching into tight areas. Most safety wire is .032" stainless, but larger is sometimes specified... .041" for instance.

Hey, say to cut things like Bicycle cables you should only use cable cutters I do a lot of that stuff but I don’t have the cable cutters I only have wire cutters I’d be interested to know if harbor freight had a dedicated cable cutter and if it made a difference. It’s very easy to Fredo’s bicycle cables then you have to start over again with a new one.

      @CatusMaximus  19 днів тому

I agree, Felco cable cutters are best for those types of jobs!

With any of these hand tools out of HF you got self QC best fit/finish/function from what on the display rack .
Good effort with self QC and milking any coupon deals it hard to complain on tool as price good and with lifetime warranty tool lines they currently easy on warranty process (although don't expect that be same scenario for decades)
I use a few ICON hand tools professionally and they doing totally fine .
Doubt I bother with these cutters unless super deal on and I browsing and spot a flawless pair .

I guess I don't understand the need for these. If you are going to cut things that you need more leverage, then why not just buy longer standard diagonal pliers? I have 10 inch knipex pliers that are great. I would say that the way the Icon handles are shaped, you would get more leverage from a standard set. Also, if you are cutting wires that need that reach around some obstruction then you better not be splicing them because there is no way to get your hands down in there. I just don't see the niche it's trying to fill in the marketplace.

I went a picked a pair of these up and out of the 4 that they had in stock, only 1 pair had their jaws aligned correctly. Your's seems to have alignment issues as well, so it appears to be a consistent theme. I bet a lot of them are going to have jaw alignment issues. I have noticed that as time passes and harbor freight continues to have new batches made, things are tweaked and improved upon, so hopefully these will be no different. I'm really looking forward to their new G2 ratchets that are set to be released next year. I really hope they get them right because if they do, they are going to shake the tool game up. They look like they are really going to be great ratcehts.

I don't understand the need for long reach cutters unless whatever is being cut isn't being repaired.

To tell you the truth. $25 is expensive for those cheesy Icon pliers.
