    NC are made here in Northern Ireland and very popular. Do all sorts of agricultural/construction equipment. Had an NC low loader for about 20 years and it has been great.

    Kubota has two tracked dumpers even here in Canada.

    The payloads for dumpers and loaders is normally, if not always, calculated around the average material density figure of 1.80 tonne per cube, so if your dumper has carrying capacity of 800 litres then its max payload should be 1.44 tonnes.

      And the liter capacity is rated with heaped material. I just looked it up.

    Looked at the thwaites same as you,but ended up buying an Ausa D150AHG,same engine,same transmission,full road lights,fantastic bit of kit, loads of power and £2500 less than the thwaites!

      Good point, I hadn't even considered the Ausa, there aren't any dealers near me that I am aware of. Hope she serves you well.

      @@Olliegunns had an Ausa CH150 compact 4 wheel drive mini forklift for over 12 year's now,great machine only 2.7 ton,can tow behind pickup ,lifts 1.5 ton,if the dumper is as good I think it will be in use for a long time 👍

      Wacker Neuson also has 2 different 1.5t models. Or rather the same machine with two different skips. 800L and 1000l capability, both numbers are with heaped material.

    A new bobcat t450 skidsteer (smaller one) is the bones of 50k , your dumper is a better option what ever way you weigh it up.

    • @Olliegunns

      I think it really depends on your work. The skid steer is more expensive but also much more versatile in that it can do a lot more than carry and dump dirt. The dumper is useless without another machine to load it! But works really well for my kind of work.

    The swivel bucket and centre pivot are great. Nice machine and size, do the tyres tear up lawns?

    • @Olliegunns
      @Olliegunns  Рік тому

      Not really unless its very soft. You can spec turf tyres for it and I have considered this, but its not really been an issue for me.

    Got a 2005 Thwaites 2 tonne swivel. Still a good machine. Did you get a price on the 1.5 high tip swivel??

    do you service your dumper and digger your self?

    • @Olliegunns
      @Olliegunns  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Thomas, I used to, but planned maintenance gets done by a local mechanic now. I find I earn more driving them than I do fixing them and my time is better spent doing that. Spanners are never far away though in case I get a breakdown.

    Why not using a wheel loader instead?

    • @Olliegunns
      @Olliegunns  3 роки тому +2

      Its a good point, and one I thought about quite a lot before buying this dumper. I was actually thinking of a skid steer really for my kind of work. The problem is to run an excavator and a loader efficiently, you need to have an operator in each, and I only have one of me. The other downside is the UK hasn't got its head around loaders yet. Its either excavators with dumpers and if something needs moving then they hire a telehandler! No concept of a loader being able to do both jobs! When I am on day rate work, the client is happy to hire my dumper to work alongside my machine, and this makes me more money. I don't think they will stretch to a loader yet as they haven't seen them about

      @@Olliegunns When loading the dumper with gravel you have to do it with your excavator anyway, right? A medium sized loader would be the solution I think. Hard to do everything by yourself 🙂
