I met Kate O'Mara on the staircase of the back stage area at the Plymouth Theatre Royal. She was singing away to herself and beamed when she saw me. A very sweet lady - totally unlike the Rani.
In 1986. I was there to interview Gerry & The Cruisers for Radio Devon. She was vocal exercising walking up the steps. She smiled and said hello. She seemed lovely, unlike The Rani
You know what I love about the Rani. She's only the bad guy because she doesn't care. The Master just delights in evil whereas the Rani is just without conscience so will do whatever to get her goals. If anything she's a more formidable opponent to the Doctor than the Master is. Throughout the whole episode it was the Master screwing things up. The Rani had the Doctor a prisoner and it was the Master's pride that let him escape. It was also the Rani that let them escape the Doctor and the Master that stupidly blew up the mine causing them to rush into the TARDIS.
Someone told me once that they went to a Dr Who convention where Colin Baker said that he was tied up but forgotten about! Thus he spent the lunch break in filming an episode tied up and some real people [not extras] walked past and thought that he was an escaped mental patient! Wonder if that could have been this episode!
One of my favourite Colin Baker stories. Brilliant cliffhanger. Will the Doctor go down the pit..Tune in to the next episode to see what happens. Or play your DVD or Blu Ray to enjoy the story again

Olivia Wilde who played the princess on Year One should be the Rani. She's american, but she can do accents really well. She would have been a great Rani for Tennant's Doctor and Simm's Master.
At the end of the mark of the rani the master says that he has put the fluid next to his hearts. Both of them. The Anthony Ainley Master took Trema's body. A new body at last. Did Trema's have 2 hearts ?
In the Five Doctors, the Time Lords agreed to give the Master a new regenerative cycle if he helped. I think that might have altered his physiology to become Time Lord once again, only with his Tremas exterior still in place.
Lol. hardly.... with that story maybe. but other stories from the same series (22 I believe) had such topics as rape , cannibalism , voyeurism , genetic engineering , torture , forced amputations , acid baths, binge eating disorder ,animal cruelty, commentary on video nasties and ahead of it's time commentary on social media infact , people at the time complained that the show was becoming too violent.
Ron is not evil period. But when the Master and Rani were younger I'm sure they weren't that evil either. In Divided Loyalties, they acted similar to Ron and Hermione and that's why I suggested them.
ever seen sanctuary, same buzz. as young ones buddies to the end. they grow up fall out and even though on opposite sides of the argument, still harbour a little tinge of old school friendship. on the outside looks wtf. imagine harry potter (the dr) Ron (the master) and Hermione (the rani) buzz buzz.
I believe she had a couple of things in her favor, both of them upstaged Peter Davison's regeneration. They didn't call the next story the "Twin Dilemma" for nothing ;-D

Whos here after the giggle the third/ final episode of the three 2023 special episodes with David Tennant and Neil Patrick Harris as the toymaker where the person with the red nails 💅💅💅 picked up the tooth 🦷 I think that's the Rani who's picked up the tooth 🦷 that the masters in. Theory : I think ainley and simm and Jacobi and Gomez all 4 of them will reprise their roles as the master/missy and they will bi generate too just like Tennant/gatwa did and the 4 of them will come back because I heard they 4 of them laughing just when the hand ✋ picked the tooth 🦷 up and that's what will happen and Helena Bonham Carter I think will play the next Rani actress it all going to be exciting it's all going to come crashing down exciting exciting
Peri and Mel both… they just set my teeth on edge with how obnoxious. Given their appearances in more recent times… frankly it really falls to John Nathan Turner’s bungling as show runner at the end vs. the actresses themselves.

The TARDIS has fallen down the side of a mountain before. The Bakers projecting the idea that the Ship could be destroyed by dumping it into a pit is just ludicrously sloppy writing on their part.

No, the exterior cannot be damaged. That was established in numerous episodes prior to this one.
