When you were playing cooking mama and couldn't believe it was actually that simple.
Lies again? WTA Fish
*sweats*I watched an anime called,Free! And Haru is OBSESSED with mackrel. It has me curious now.
@@capedluna News flash: Its not simple to prepare fish at ALL and Haru just loves mackerel THAT much that he goes out of his way to make it repeatedly. Then again, mackerel is easier to prepare than other fish, so maybe that's why
I always order grilled salted saba at restaurant. DIdn't know it was this simple.
@JapaneseCooking101 I made this today and it was great! Any tips to prevent the mackerel skin sticking to the foil?
What's the point of the aluminum foil? Just wash your damn pan after cooking
I'm gonna try this today with my catch from yesterday evening :)
How'd it come out? Lol

I just came back from visiting Japan and this fish is by far the best fish I’ve ever had.
Haru chan will love this xD
Thanks for sharing this simple recipe!
Did all as she said and as shown in video but my mackerel stuck to the foil :(
Aluminium is known to be controversial to health. You should use cooking parchment instead
Woo, I did it! That was really easy. Though I may have cooked mine for too long. :P
Love your grater as well, small but quite handy for small job. Can you give the link to the website where it sold pls, if possible. Thanks

Isn’t cooking in aluminium bad for health?

That's looks Delicious, and for desert Kabocha Pie, with a Whip cream !
Thank you so much.. ありがとうございました。とても簡単です
'Cept tin foil is unhealthy .... So is non stick pan :(
my favorite japan cooking channel of all time
I had this dish in japanese restaurant but couldn't work out how it was so tasty. Now u show me the way. Quite simple indeed. Thanks for sharing.
Where where where?
That foil is a bad idea, the fish sticks to it and when you try to remove it, small pieces of foil rips off.
There is non stick foil available at the supermarket.
Uhh...
I like the recipe but aluminum and non stick teflon pan😨
Same thoughts... Very toxic : (
I saw some aluminium foil stuck to the mackerel
robina daud it’s the fish skin that got stuck to the foil. The silver part is the fish not the foil :)
@@julia7810 Thanks
robina daud 😊😊
I came for Haru xD
Same hahaha
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
Can I soak the fish in salt before I cook to get rid of fishy smell? Or Saba suppose to smell fishy before cooking, then the fishy smell goes away?
It's amazing something so simple can taste soooooo good. I made this for my 82-yo mom and we both loved it.
You should never cook in aluminum only use it for serving or converting
i never though this my top favorite dish is easy to make!! Thanks for the video XD
Can someone tell me if it was okay to put foil on their teflon pan? I just want to make sure that my pan will be unharmed. I can't wait to try this recipe!
Ohhh that’s so yummy like much
How do you orevent the fish from sticking tonthe foil?
Can I use other kind of fish? if so, what would it be?
If saba/mackerel is too fishy for you, this is great using (skin on) salmon fillets.
the hard part is finding mackerel in my location lol.
how does daikon radish taste like?
I actually love saba fish more then salmon
I love saba!
Thank you for sharing❤
Is the daikon radish eaten raw?
Hi,
Just subscribed your channel recently. Look Japanese food. Anyway, is it possible for you to show how to make kabayaki sauce? 😊
Without any alcohol in it please. Thank you.

Love Saba
Enak banget ini ikan
What if I'm using frozen saba instead?
+Kuromuto Kirisaki You can then use frozen daikon radish and fresh thawed soy sauce for best match.
Japanese mackerel was love at first bite for me 😊
Mackerel is my favorite! :)
Thanks!
Why no lemon
So this is what caused Mio chan and Yuuko to fight
Yakisoba, not Yakisaba 😂

I like how we don't have to use any oil in this recipe. Thanks
you need to, just a bit on the foil

Watson Piriya dumbass their accent is Japanese.
That looks sooo good, I think I know what we're having for dinner tonight!!
Japanese portions are fit for birds and squirrels. I need to triple it for a meal lol
+StarryFantastic then eat it with rice, vegetable, and soup to make it more filling and nutricious
J. Tee lol dumbass think before commenting i swear this is one of the problem of UA-cam comments
Actually, the Japanese are credited with having the most correct portion (rations) in the world - most of us in the west over-consume food on such a scale that it is literally making us sick. Also, the amount of animal based proteins we eat is about 150-350% more than what we should be eating for a healthy, sustainable diet. I think we call all learn a thing or two from the Japanese when it comes to food - after all, they are amongst the healthiest people on the planet.
You don't NEED triple the portion unless you actually burn a lot of calories (extreme bodybuilding, twelve-hour hard labor workdays, and so forth). The human body is amazingly efficient. A small piece of fish, a small portion of rice, a pinch of vegetables and maybe a vegetable-based soup is all you need for a meal. If you're used to eating a lot, it will seem like it's too little, but you will get used to it and your body will thank you for not overeating. It has to work harder when you overeat.
this is appetizer only
man, this is a really great way to destroy the coating on a teflon pan.
Haha I thought so as well 😂
what type of mackerel is this? Spanish? I was at a fish market today and noticed there are many kinds
Actually just mackerel (saba in romanji), Spanish mackerel (sawara in romanji) is a rather different - though related - fish with a leaner taste profile. Of course Spanish mackerel also tastes great on the grill, but it also tends to have a higher heavy metal content as they are far more predatory than true mackerel if that is your concern.
You need to oil the fish before you place it on pan or it will stick. The video doesn't tell you this. The skin came off, and I was very disappointed. Lesson learned.
+S L She did say to oil the surface at 1:30
Score the skin
