I was fortunate to attend this event that day on July 17, 2015. A sad loss today on May 25, 2024 of a music legend.
RIP to this legend
I remember this famous song in the movie Mary Poppins. This is my mother's favorite song.
I was lucky enough to be there that day. There was not a dry eye in the audience. I was sobbing while sitting on a bench.
Richard said that the bird which flew in at the end was Walt himself.....this is so beautiful
I’m sure I’m not the only one, but did you notice the little bird in the background? How surreal!
I had the pleasure of speaking to Richard Sherman many, many times while working at Walt Disney Records. He was a wealth of information, stories, and history about the Walt Disney enterprise and Walt Disney himself. What a great guy!!
This is Gold! There are not too many Disney legends left, so we need to treasure moments like this
Robert was my family's Milkman in the 60's in Woodland Hills.I was so in love with Bobby and dreamed of being his wife. Quite impossible as i wasn't even a teenager yet. Even though i was born in California i never got to go to Disneyland as my parents had 7 children and it wasn't in any budget ever. But now living in Oregon and all grown up i finally got to go ,when i was 50.I cried when i arrived and cried when the park closed. I love Walt. Not just Disneyland but" Walt"as a person. That Man was a genius and has captured the love of Millions upon Millions of children's hearts I will never ever forget every Sunday night with my entire family together watching "The Wonderful World of Disney". What a life it once was. Memories to last a lifetime...I Love Walt Disney. But God more..
In all honesty i wasn't expecting to like this as it wasnt sung by Julie Andrews but wow this lady was wonderful and brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful
To Richard and Robert Sherman and walt Disney they may be gone but not forgotten still going strong walt Disney would sit in his office and be proud and smiling one of his favorite songs ever by julie Andrew and Ashley brown great job people you should be proud really enjoyed and appreciate your singing I try not to get teary eyed and emotional I'm left speechless way to go very impressed RIP walt Disney and Richard and Robert Sherman. Joe
I was there that day when Richard Sherman played “Feed the Birds” on the 60th Anniversary day. I was somewhere in the crowd near the “Partners” statue in the 101*F weather, watching everything in awe. And when Richard finished playing the song at the end, I couldn’t help but cry. Probably the only thing the hot weather couldn’t dry up immediately for me at that moment. 🥹🥰
A classic performed by one of the most incredible talents of the Broadway stage. Ashley Brown is the best!!! To see her perform with Richard Sherman, god bless you still healthy and still sharing those amazing stories of Walt Disney. RIP Walt
THANK YOU WHO ALL CAME OUT
I'm not a very emotional person but this song and many like it bring tears to my eyes. 😀😭❤️
Notice the bird towards the end of the song. Thanks Walt. And thank you Richard and Ashley.
I can only imagine Walt's smile as he listened, wherever he is.
Forever mind blown that I was there for this. One of my favourite Disney memories! Brought me to tears then and still does today
I'll NEVER forget the silence in Disneyland that day! 💔💔💔💔
And that is the excellence of a great song writer. Just beautful and classic.
R.I.P Walt Disney a imaginative kind loving 🥰 person it doesn’t take much to do a kind act for someone else and in a time when things seem at their lowest, their darkest you have to look for the light it reminds me of music like that and how it inspires people
Richard and Ashley ☂🐧 Perfection 🕊
She looks fantastic
THE BIRD AT 7:50!!!! Too perfect.
Wonderful.
On the Mary Poppins anniversary DVD (I can't recall the year, but its the two disc one with the 'Cat Who Grinned At The King' short based on another Poppins story and has Julie Andrews in it.) Richard Sherman tells the story about playing the song at the dedication of the Walt Disney statue in the park and a bird flying down as well.
Kate Reilly That was Walt saying "Thank you."
i love it!
I absolutely LOVE this song. You can just feel the words.
**edit** today Richard passed away, he was just days away from turning 96😢
I feel like in terms of who was part of the walt team, richard is the only person who is still apart of it. i wish i could have been there that day and i ended up at knotts soak city instead😂 but this song is so beautiful and i would cry if i listened to it at disneyland 😭😍
To walt Disney and the Sherman brothers you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong after all these years appreciate great musicians and songs ever you should be proud much love and respect and appreciation job well done you should be amazed and proud love you guys thanks !!! Joe
