You got a good kid there. You raised him right.
Great job my grandson Tyler is doing Nana loves you.
Won't be long, perhaps just a few years ,some young woman's gonna snag him and hope to turn out some kidlings just as awesome as the one she found ..Grandkids, the long term project!!
I like the honesty. "I didn't take the tire off because I was being lazy". It gives hope to those of us who don't do it perfect the first time, or realize later it would have been worth it.
Thanks for taking us along.
😂👍
When you work for it you appreciate it more.
That's a fact
Cherokee 4 the win!
Hector I respect how you believe in your kids working for what they want. They will take care of it more if they have to pay for it instead of having it bought for them.
I am looking forward to the next video
XJ jeeps are awesome.
I'm working on the third "old jeep" build with my third child. They've had to pay for most of the repairs and improvements (which is why our current ZJ project has been sitting in the garage for two weeks waiting on a fuel pump) themselves. I can't even explain how valuable this has been for my children and for me. The time together, the mechanical knowledge, the confidence that comes from doing these projects is priceless.
I agree!
That’s being a good parent, teaching them how to become responsible adults.
It is apparent You and your wife have been Excellent Role Models to Tyler.
Great to see the kids at it. Young men. Need more videos Hector. Love that he wants to off road. It mixes up the love of all gears. Hector you haven’t built anything J ? Get on it …..
Good video. Nice to see young people working with their hands and not staring at a screen.
Great to see your son working on his XJ. Those are really nice and capable vehicles.
Your a great dad Hector, making him earn it and learn it . Can't wait to see the end results.
Cool man!!! 🎸 NW Montana USA
Holy motherless goat.I just went back to the 80's
😂
Earn and learn... best way to appreciate the build...
16 year old in a Lane Frost hat.. love it... can't wait till the next one.. I'm actually making a hide away winch plate for the xj I got... can't wait to get it all done and mounted.
Awesome. We will do a winch at some point in the future
Good that you include your family in your videos.
Great job Hector you and the boys did great.
keep at it your video's are getting better as you go along thanks guys
"Mullets flyin!" God that takes me back. Brother, you and your son give me hope for this country. Keep raisin him right. If you're every wheelin on the eastern side of the country holler at me.
Awesome, thank you
Grear job teaching your son responsibility. Reminds me when my dad taught me way back in the day.
Those young men are working hard. Great example of your mentorship!!
Yes they are!
If you have a good son that works and goes to school...you as a parent should validate his efforts by helping him financially with his projects. Show support bro.
He is validating his son by working on his truck and helping his son. It doesn't need money or things to validate love and support.
That's right that is the only way someone appreciates anything you work for awesome dad move
Raising them right, brother. They're gonna have a good future. Good work ethic
I love the idea of a "whatever I find on FB Market Place" build, it makes it more like a scavenger hunt.
The cuts don't matter a whole lot because your axles are going to move outwardly to the 4 corners when you ad a 4 link.
I would start looking for some long travel shocks for cheap to invision the scale of things to come and scale by knowing how big a shock you can score.
Lots of prep for paint.. Great way to get the younger guys involved in
the project. Always appreciate it more with Sweat Equity..
For sure!
Loved that George Sr. fan.. what a great guy 👍😎✊
Tyler has a good head on him thanks to you Hector. Refreshing to see young ones taking interest in learning and doing.
Those were great cuts you did Those fenders...good job.
Thank you
Awesome keep up the great videos brother!
Leg little wolf now that wide heavy tires eat wheel bearings up. There are no real advantages with wider tires climbing rocks. I see the pride you have for Little Wolf, it shows, and my brother, it is very cool to see.
Your teaching him wisdom and common sense that today is a super power Hector awesome love the jeep and the storyline
great family time don't see that anymore
Man that's the way . That's the way my Dad did in our body and fender shop I worked for all my cars and trucks .
Gotta let them eat time in healthy ways. They gave us the tools even if we didn't pick them back up for a few. Good kn you for passing it down. Humbling days for sure seeing g the next generation pick it up an run with it. Thanks for the share
You're a great father, raising 'em right! God bless you all!
Thank you!
I didn’t think young men like these existed anymore. Keep up the good work. Your XJ is looking great after the paint job. I hope you understand how much better than a new car that is. Simple enough to fix it yourself and more reliable than most cars the day their warranty runs out.😂 This is one proud dad I bet. These kids are being raised for success unlike most kids today.
Thank you very much. That really means a lot to me. The best thing in my life are these kids no doubt. Thank you
Raising him right great job looking forward for the paint👍😃
Great info on simple way to clear fender wells on the cheap. Thanks looking forward to painting.
Great to see you boy putting in the effort! And his buddy jumping in… that’s awesome! 😎 can’t wait to see the next episode
Good for Tyler & his friend to get a good start on his truck. Nice wheel arch roll. Should look good with fresh paint. A lot of pride in young people to do most of the work themselves. Thanks for sharing
Definitely think about adding a vent to the hood to help cool that 4.0
Your son is great he doesn't need to be baby sat not like fab rats boys daddy has to do it for them your awsome fad Hector 👍🤙💯
Hector he's a good young man..hey he just dove right in. Good for him Teaching him right brother!! Those are great off road vehicles if you're able to properly build that drive train Good work guys, love watching your channel much respect brother.!!!
Great job
You are impressive! You've passed on respect for others and a hellova work ethic on to your kids. Your son is amazing and I have a lot of respect for both of you! Hello from Rock Springs Wyoming!
Jerry Howe
Thank you so much!
Love it.
All I have is Wrangler parts. Wish I has something I could send yall.
Your not only a good father and family man, but you are sincere and true to your friends. God bless you, this world needs more people like you.
Probably too late now but, slip a piece of fishing line under that rubber on the roof and work it back and forth to remove it. For the hood lay some shop towels on the hood and soak it down with vinegar and cover it with plastic, Saran wrap or whatever to keep it moist and in a day or two that surface rust will wipe off. Worked good on my 53 Ford Victoria project 👍
Looking good
Awesome. Just acquired a 97 Cherokee. I've learned a lot from you. Thank you 😅
Teach your son about body roll. Once you lift an xj they are a handful around corners if you get in a hurry. Just a thought, I have had a few with a lift.
That’s awesome you don’t see kids working on there rigs I have a 2000 Cherokee 👍✌️💪🏻❤️☮️
Pretty cool
Awsome job thank u
I think it a good thing and believe that more parents should let the children work for what they want. it makes them realize just how much work and dedication it takes to get what they want and invests them in to the things they get. Sure help them out but don't give them a hand out. Working and good work ethics are just as important now days as ever and the more self reliant children can become the better
Yes, I agree. I'm always willing to help him, but I'm not doing all of it.
Don't know if you've cut the front bumper back yet or not (video posted 4 hours ago), but when you finish the cutting, weld caps onto the ends.
If you haven't cut the front bumper yet, trim & fold it the same way you did the rear fenders then weld it up. Add a bit of strength to it for bashing obstacles
Yes, that's the plan. But I really don't have the time to go around. But we will be upgrading this project in the future, and it will all be on the channel
My dad would buy a car for us to rebuild/resale together to fund work on my 1st car, Dad got his money off top and remainder helped make it affordable at 14-15 years old , perhaps let him earn some of those upgrades and get a Project built & sold, and we resprayed things on windless days in front yard. Dad made sure mechanics were alright, but also made sure I did most if not work myself. Besides your son will appreciate more the things He Buys and Owns if things he really worked for in the long run.
I used to work on cars with my dad and uncles growing up. Thanks for sharing 👍
I had a 2 1/2 inch lift on mine and 33s fit fine. I wanted to put a 5 - 6 inch lift to put 35s on it
I did the cut and fold on my xj years ago
Weld that rear end. 😂😂 I love my junk 96 with 327k heading to Moab from Ft Worth next week...
Awesome!
Hey buddy I have a brand new set of 285/75 or 65/16” thunder MT!! I actually run them on my 2007 Duramax and I actually can get over 45,000 miles on them!! I had them on my 1981 GMC that I still would love to have you paint for me!!! They I believe still have the tits on them kinda!! They do really well in the mud, snow and ice, and even for rock crawling!! These thunder MT and also the pro comp MT2 are probably two of the best off road and on the road tires I have found that actually last!!!
You know that howling wolfs real name was chester burnett I love the blues nothing better
I didn't know that. I love old music
I'm almost 68 I only like old music you know when they could play instruments and didn't need filters or voice correction
👏🏽👏🏽🤚🏽👍🏽🤙🏽🤘🏾🤛🏽✌🏽🙋🏽♂️🎸🎤🎷😎🙋🏽♂️
Will you be wielding any thing to the edge of the finder flare opening edge maybe something like the flares like the Banana has from Matt's off road recovery. It might help keep mud from slinging up on the side or the windshield as much.
We talked about it in the future. I'm on such a time crunch we don't have time. But in the futur, yes, we will.
I would love to buy the fender flares from you.
All we have left are the plastic. The brackets were trashed
Hector is that Heidi’s old jeep
Yes it is
Road in that thing a bunch of times
A little N.W.A.
While working I see..
My playlist consists of pretty much everything, 2000s and older.
AAAHHHH DAD at least 35's lol
Lol 😆
The boy needs to chew your butt for using that cut off wheel without a face shield..
Would that work on 86 s10 blazer Is the fender trick
I'm not sure, but I would imagine it might.
Cool thank u
I am Jeep poor brother 😅😅😅😅😅
Looks like I am, too Now..lol
Good kids don't just happen, you can ask my parents. Maybe I'll move out of their house, I'm almost 50 now 👽🗿👽🗿👽
Please, please quit playing music while you are talking. I enjoy the videos, the music not so much
Rudy @ RAD
Good job there, young men!
