Excellent video. One thing I noticed that was not commented on- the Sony seemed to crush blacks and lose shadow detail. On the same scene I could see all of the details in the dark areas with the JVC. Also in the extreme HDR scenes on the Sony the detail was lost in the bright areas. From what I see I agree Sony has more detail with processing but the HDR/black level/shadow detail goes to JVC. I’d be happy either way.

The Sony to me had a little more pop but at times the colors looked a little oversaturated. I’m sure they’re both excellent projectors but $1000 is a $1000 that you can put in your pocket and that could be the deciding factor

I really appreciate you NOT telling us which was which at the start to eliminate bias. It could be the camera being used, but I did not see any issues with blacks and HDR on the Sony and the colours were much more vivid, pushing a bit too saturated on some scenes (like Mad Max). The underwater scene in The Meg was a hands down winner for the JVC.

Just reminds me of the past glorious NEC 9" high end CRT projectors (which had the best skin tones). The 9.5 Gen Pioneer Kuro also had the best skin tones that i have seen on a flat panel. In every scene there are huge color differences, suggesting that the projectors were not properly calibrated for either rec 709 or bt2020. After calibration both should display the same colors. The differences are there to be seen but not in color accuracy at last not in rec 709.
Also at 3:00 what Sony does is just oversharpening the image by defoult, as we can see a lot of artefacts caused by this. You can achive this on JVC too if that is what you want to see but in my oppinion it makes the image worse, not better.
You can get rid of the grain on both projectors if you tweek the settings but at the expense of loosing a bit detail.
In my oppinon the Sony needs a calibration , it can't be used out of the box since colors are completely wrong, with red all over the place. In most scenes it looks almost cartoonish.

I don’t want a projector to look like a tv. I want a projector to look like a projector. I don’t go to the movies to watch tv. JVC all the way

Will take the new 325ES over both of them for half the price.

I would too take the 325ES for almost half the price. But how well does it compare to the two projectors on this video?

@@so.calcat6476 in a batcave it sucks but if your in a room with some light or white walls then the 325 is a winner

Nice comparison. The Sony looks over sharpened and the JVC looks more natural. Both projectors look fantastic though.
JVC all the way for the better blacks and more natural looking image.

JVC is way better! Sony is great just not on the same level, who wants to constantly adjust the picture.
JVC makes it easy , set and forget perfect every time .

The JVC is a much better projector. Much better. Not even close. It would be a disservice to all of our viewers to suggest otherwise.

i don't know the prices in USA but here 715 is actually the same price as N5 so I belive this is it's natural competitor, not N7

"no stock in any of these companies" you work for a company that is a dealer for JVC. If you were a dealer for both JVC and Sony this might make the video a little more unbiased.
