Growing up I personally have never given a S about a jig. After watching your video I did some research and found that todays jigs are amazing. So many colors and styles. Anyways, I've been hitting 3 ponds close to my house here in central Ohio. For the 3rd day in a row I have gone out and caught 1-3lb bass every day using a beautiful pbj buckeye lures jig. I went from never using them to making them my most go to lure. They look so pretty all set up with a nice bait cast. Throw it way out, let it drop then wait 5 seconds and you get someone's attention. Thank you so much for making me a believer of these and giving them the respect, they deserve because they work!

It’s not too long for you, trust me. A longer rod will help you get further casts and better hookup ratios. Get the combo I have linked in the video description, or anything by Mach, and you’ll be set 👍🏼

Best fishing advice channel on UA-cam. Idk how you don’t have 3 million subscribers yet. I used to only fish for catfish, but I’ve gotten into bass fishing hard this year thanks to your channel and a couple others. Thanks for all your advice Tyler!
I have caught lots of fish in Florida on a jig. Go lighter like 3/8, and swim it above the vegetation. Unless it’s “snot” grass, you should be able to hop the jig around the grass
I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.
I don’t trust the connection knot on line that size. I trust it on small line like 15lb braid to 10lb fluoro. I just don’t tie a good enough FG to go from 40lb braid to 17lb flouro
I have never caught a fish on a jig really wanting to get into it

@@TylersReelFishing I’m on a quest to find the best jig for me so thank you, I’ll order me a few to try out.
Be blessed.
Best fishing advice channel on UA-cam. Idk how you don’t have 3 million subscribers yet. I used to only fish for catfish, but I’ve gotten into bass fishing hard this year thanks to your channel and a couple others. Thanks for all your advice Tyler!
I appreciate that! Maybe one day!
Caught my first ever fish on a jig like 2 weeks ago on my 3rd cast. I go to throw my 4th cast and got hung up. 😅 lol.
On topic of hard hooksets my buddy caught his bass ever and it was on a jig his hookset wasn’t even a hookset he just started reeling faster lol
Like I said, you CAN hook em on it with a little hookset, it’s just gonna be harder
I want to catch one on a jig but here in Florida there’s so much vegetation and the bottom is so muddy and weedy, makes it near impossible
I have caught lots of fish in Florida on a jig. Go lighter like 3/8, and swim it above the vegetation. Unless it’s “snot” grass, you should be able to hop the jig around the grass
I’m a saltwater bass fisherman here and was wondering why more freshwater bass fisherman don’t use braid with a flourocarbon leader
Because you don’t need to. One more connection that can fail
I still have yet to catch a fish on a jig.
Follow these tips and you will!
Never use a chunk type trailer?
Not much
I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down.
First again
Yuh
You said "wire" more than once. Do you mean the hook diameter?
Yes
Thanks.@@TylersReelFishing
Sooo are you not sponsored by strike king anymore?
I have been with Outkast jigs for years before I was with strike king. My SK contract excludes jigs. Still happily with SK for everything else
i see in most your bait casters you use looks like florocarbon instead of braid to floro why is that
I don’t trust the connection knot on line that size. I trust it on small line like 15lb braid to 10lb fluoro. I just don’t tie a good enough FG to go from 40lb braid to 17lb flouro
