As a producer I usually give around -6db of headroom as a premaster. Does this factor in possible headroom for vocals as well? And let's say if you have a mastered track and are recording vocals over it, how would you approach that? Thanks for everything, much appreciated.

UA-cam monetization Pro Tools is geared more towards the analog side of things along with the recording features where FL is limited to the point that it doesn’t have clip gain automation.
Pro tool is finish, its the past. there are no best daw, all daw copy each other for be the best.

How to find Your Plugins in Protools 11 and up:
Step #1 - Verify plugin software is correctly installed
First, check whether the relevant plugin file/s are correctly installed on your computer. Go to:
Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Plug-Ins V10
Mac: Macintosh HD > Applications > Waves > Plug-Ins V10
The relevant plugin file will be named after the plugin, in this format: [PluginName].bundle. For example, the plugin file for Reel ADT will be named Reel ADT.bundle.
If the plugins you are looking for are not there, install the plugins by following the instructions in this link.
Step #2 - Rescan for Plugins
If the relevant plugin files are in the above folders, perform a rescan:
Windows:
Quit Pro Tools.
Press [Win key]+R, type %appdata% and hit Enter. In the Roaming folder that shows, go to Avid > Pro Tools.
Locate the InstalledAAXPlugins file and drag it to your desktop
Launch Pro Tools. If prompted to Locate the Waves plugins folder, direct to C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Plug-Ins V10.
Mac:
Quit Pro Tools.
In Finder, click on the Go menu, hold down the [Alt/Option] key and click on Library.
Go to Preferences > Avid > Pro Tools.
Locate the InstalledAAXPlugins file and drag it to your desktop.
Launch Pro Tools, create a fresh session with a supported sample rate, add a track and see if the issue persists. If prompted to Locate the Waves plugins folder, direct to Macintosh HD > Applications > Waves > Plug-Ins V10.
If everything then works properly, you can delete InstalledAAXPLugins from your desktop.
Once the rescan is done, create a new project with a supported sample rate, add a track and load your Waves plugins.

HELP. I need to know how to select a specific section to record. Like it stops recording at the specified end measure without having to manually stop it that way I’m not recording over the following part.
Situation: missed a single note on guitar and need to go back and place it.
You need to punch in. The easiest way I can tell you to do this right now is just record the take again on a separate track and cut and paste the part you want to replace.
