On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Can you a video of J20 vs Su57 BVR??
I loved your Rafale video. I am surprised that you do not give much credit to this plane, it performs like a Typhoon. I'd love to see a Rafale vs Typhoon with swapping pilots. Would be a beautiful video!!!
Bro what was your outro song...
Request is bfm with full bomb loadout. Tomcat B vs the world 4 mk84 Equivalent 2 heaters.
Yeah, you laugh. But what you don't realize is that tree was about to go offensive. That hypersonic totally saved the day.

We really need you to swap planes for a 2nd round in these videos. That would be so interesting, seeing how the dynamic would change.... or not.
agree
he said something about this, he doesn’t do it because sometimes the other person doesn’t have access to the plane or experience in it
Definitely because you’re such a good pilot and mostly in the better plane. Taking the other jet would be cool.
That tree was guilty of sedition against glorious Russian society. Excellent missile placement.
Socialist tree must be removed for glory of Rossiiskoi Federatsiya. All praise to Moskovsky Patriarchat.
Pryghosian was hiding in there, I assume?

@wessexviking4946: the Russians are capitalists.
some poor dude was sitting under a tree smoking a joint and got wacked by a hypersonic missile . lol
"F that tree. F that tree in particular" - GS missile
😔
Everyone is talking about the stealth capablities of the F 22 lr the SU 57. But no one talks about the stealth capabilites, as well as the offensive capabilties of the tree. How many times has an enemy tree been hit by a missile? Maybe 2 or 3 times. This is the only time ive seen kt be done. Excellence work Gs.
Man do I miss tactical view debrief.
In the BVR fights for sure. Maybe best round on some dogfight videos? It was awesome to hear and see how close everything was.
As well as missile range and performance, and stealth characteristics, being unknown quantities, so is the efficiency of electronic countermeasures, or even tactics such as 'notching' to defeat seekers. Not only will companies and nations not tell you the performance parameters of their military assets, they will not tell you what they know of the competition so not to provide intelligence. Most of these scenarios are entirely hypothetical.
Sukhoi themselves have said the su-57 is not that Stealthy. The cost for stealth vs a high performance, they took the high performance. The design itself can support a stealthier build but the current materials being used is the limiting factor.
@@gotafarmyet4691 i doubt its stealthy at all. The surface of the plane is irregular and the engines are pretty much fully exposed. Plus it is physically massive
@@amazin7006not an expert, but apparently the su 57 has RCS slightly less than a hornet, which is pretty impressive, not as impressive as the raptor, but It seems that with its size, power, missiles and possibly good kinematic performance it should be very dominant against 4++ gen fighters at the very least, idk about its EW suite, it might be inferior to European fighters and that might let it down.
@@gotafarmyet4691Sukhoi stated that the minimal RCS of Su-57 is 0.1 m2.
But they also often stated that the RCS of F-22 was between 0.1-0.5 m2, according to their assessment.
So it's not really that Sukhoi is calling Su-57 not stealthy, rather they deny truthfulness of the official RCS values of the F-22.
If you believe Sukhoi will tell a real number....
Even about a prototype....
iam surprised that the Meteors did not kill you... you showed one that still burned and was pretty close, that must have had a good speed to chase you down.
Exactly, too much speed heading down, at low altitude, its a meteor hitting the ground. GS even gave some speak about that while maneuver...
Dragged him into the ground, like was GS said. Besides the little amount of stealth that the Felon has might've played a role
That tree had it coming...
shame the P-38 isnt in DCS, it would be neat to have an F-35 vs P-38 round. Lightning vs Lightning
The outcome is predictable. A jet can go vertical, drop it's nose and the prop aircraft cannot do anything about it.
@@traviswalker8933 you're new to this channel aren't you

"If you are familiar with the system because you work with it, you would know not to go onto UA-cam and talk about it"
If only. Abrams SEP3, Challenger 2, Leopard 2A6, T-14 Armata, ammunition, missiles and radar... All been *confirmed* to have classified specs leaked by crew on UA-cam and forums the last 2 years alone lol. Sometimes though... i am sure it's done deliberately to force upgrades.
I always loved that notion of "our aircraft is the size of a bee on radar", only problem with that idea is bees don't fly at Mach2 😂
As you very rightly say no country is openly divulging detailed specs of any military technology. I think it's pretty reasonable to think though a modern Sam system has the capability to spot these sound barrier breaking bees.
That's not how radar works. You wouldn't see a "bee going Mach 2".
@@Aeroman08 Care to expand on that?
@@LtShifty If its too small a target the return can be filtered out as interference and/or ground clutter returns.
3:50 so there's this video that's been recommended to me a couple times now, "How to defend your car against supersonic fighter jets" I think I might just have to watch that now seeing that I'm not as safe as I thought
7:31 That Patriot missile seemed to have detonated. What did it hit or did it just kind of blew up by itself?
I think it tried to prox fuse on the aircraft
@@maverickmissile801I think Patriot missiles can self-destruct if they lose track of the target.
Not sure if that's the case, or if that's even modeled in DCS
It is the missile will blow up if the lock is broken
I think it detonated because the Euro fighter was there so it self destructed so it doesn't frendly fire
@@farbenfro3186 no the patriot doesn't see the eurofighter and you can be killed by a friendly sam, happened to me twice, the missile blew up because GS changed aspect and the patriot lost lock
lol at that missile doing Mach 7 through someone’s catflap.
When can we expect more mini docs 👍🏽
GS: "Hey, fancy missile. I need you to take out that enemy fighter."
Missile: "Have you considered... that tree?"
I’m always surprised by how close they are when you show the splash. I couldn’t tell the range through the whole fight but for the kill shot when you look over to the port side, he was actually very close.
3:33 Just want to give a min of silence for tree 792,155,634,156,545,533,437 and the family of squirrels who valiantly thew acorns at a hypersonic missile in an attempt to save themselves.
Typical Russian missile tech, that tree was clearly hiding an F-22 behind it, the missile KNOWS man!
3:30 the missile knows where it is for all time, it knows this because it knows where it isn't...
* dies on a tree *
Hey I asked this once before, but could you please do a video explaining, n possibly displaying the differences of all the different F-15 Eagle models? I know some of em are better dogfighters, n some are interceptors, etc.
Hello, The C is the air superiority variant the E is the A/G strike variant that’s all really. The EX is also an air to air variant more of a missile truck though. C variant is probably the best dogfighter.
@@GrowlingSidewinder please do the mig-31 hypersonics vs f-15E so you can get payback from that old video of the f-15C
Thank you!! I wasn't sure about the differences, n I remember seeing you dogfighting 1 of em that definitely wasn't made for that at all. That's kinda the 1st time I realized the vast differences in the models of the F-15. Love your videos man, n I definitely appreciate the info you throw into em!!
@@GrowlingSidewinderthere’s also several export variants of the E variant like the I for Israel, SA for Saudi, K Slam for Korea and QA for Qatar.
The most interesting one was the Silent Eagle one that was proposed for export but didn’t received any orders because it had stealth features including internal weapons bays.
@@GrowlingSidewinder It was my impression that the EX is a bit of both. The Air Force wanted a replacement for twin-seat F-15Es (would have been called the EX) and the National Guard a replacement for single-seat F-15Cs (would have been called the X), but it turned out that it would have cost too much to bring back production of the single-seat forward fuselage (because all foreign orders had been for E-variants over the past twenty years or so) so they went with the EX variant for both services. Wherever it replaces the C there's only the pilot and it carries just air to air weapons; wherever it replaces the E it's used with a crew of two and air to ground ordnance.
Sadly no tree cam, but i think theres no tree cam left after that one
I think it’d be neat to see an su-57 bandit unknown
The missile knows where it is at all times.
It knows this because it knows where it isn’t.
Claiming the stealth with hypersonic missile on board is like blending the crowd while having a butt-plug with a tail
I love how DCS has gotten so sophisticated and real time with its simulations that it actually demonstrates a sophisticated Russian hypersonic missile with a microprocessor from a toaster oven. Impressive.
American planes have been falling all their lives from rockets from a microprocessor toaster)
@@FXIIBeaver can you give me a source the only thing I saw from is that one time in 2007 an F 22 had a computer malfunction.
@@zacharytrevino6321 it was the F22. Got my numbers messed up
@@FXIIBeaver Okay to recap one time in 2007 an F-22 that was testing out new equipment had a computer malfunction that started with an international date line that caused a chain reaction this issue was later fixed. The Russian Air Force is clearly superior to us they have never had a computer issue
Fighter jet and munitions stats are best guesses - remember the mystery around the Mig Foxbat ? Russians fooled us all there !
Anything from any country on the Internet isn't 100%. As GS said.
"The Missile knows where it is and where it's going"
Unfortunately, in this case where it was going was the local for a pint.
The "stealth" in DCS basically means when you notch the missile, it can never see you, which makes the F22 and Felon kinda invincible in BVR. ._.
Would be kinda cool to see 2 jets dogfihting that werent meant to dogfight, like f104 vs mig-25
Great video between the Felon and the Typhoon here. I think it would be interesting to see the hypersonic used much closer, faster, and/or higher in these BVR fights featuring modern Russian jets. When we see them, they always seem to be used in almost a spray and pray fashion from maximum distance.
thats because theyre absolutely massive and they are not designed to take down a small, agile target like a fighter jet. These hypersonics are like a foot wide and are designed to reach out far into enemy controlled air space to take down things like AWACS or refuelers. if you launched one of these close range at a fighter they would easily out manoeuvre the missile. that is why you saw the hypersonic get driven into the ground at like 15 miles, it has to compensate for its poor agility.
@@bagladThanks for the response. That makes sense considering other platforms of similar functionality such as the AIM-54 Phoenix. Although it still seems that if you were to employ such a weapon under more favorable conditions, you would at least present more questions for the the adversary to answer, metaphorically speaking. At which point you can maintain the initiative for a longer period of the fight.
I think the "Stealth" aspect is for survivability similar to the Rafle and Super Hornets. The middle east is an testing ground for superpowers so it was stealthy to Syrian radar's.
they were on Syrian side
Kind of cope
Modern BVR fight: Shooting missiles, turning away, dodging unseen missiles, turning away, shooting missiles, turning away, dodging...

Man, the Su-57 really is a beautiful aircraft.
😂😂OMG I love your channel, and the Obama insert was the tops! Mahalo and Aloha !!!😂😂
Prigozhin was hiding in that tree
The Eurofighter has some low observability design elements as well, like the S-duct or semipermeable radar dome, as well as some RAM-coating and a tow decoy
@MH-ft9pq Most of the relatively modern aircraft have that as well, e.g. Raphale and Su-35S.
That's one tree that never had a chance against it's approaching hypersonic doom.. 🚀💥🌲
After watching many of your videos, it definitely makes a difference in who is sitting behind the controls. Thanks for another great informative video, and keep them coming. You by chance working on an new mini docs ?
Love how you cut to the Patriot launch after the missile hits the trees, as if it's the Lord of the Rings and the Ents took so much offense that they shot the missiles themselves.
Some of the classifications is not only specs but training. There are techniques to maximize the effectiveness of the aircraft that are only taught to combat pilots.
what about the Rafale in a bvr fight ?
Must have been the washing machine logic processor that told the missile that it was time for a spin cycle. 🤣
Now you have me itching for a Rafale vs Eurofighter battle
That hypersonic was hunting an actual hornet
I think I would really prefer the bubble canopy if I was a fighter pilot. Keeping visual contact seems so much smoother.
General rule of thumb, if its western it will do as it says on the box and then some, if its russian or a russian knock off (chinese) be lucky if it works at all let alone do what it says on the box.
One of my weekend highlights. Thank you.
id love to see your raptors vs everything videos but done with the su57 or j20, or another with the f35. its just an interesting scenario that would be cool to see more off
The EF is a beast and with lots of FP saying the same from different nations. The power to weight ratio is crazy.
Jesus, that meteor missile must've been going like 4,000 knots
it deemed the tree a larger threat
The SU-57's main issues which are captured on publicly available video/pictures are the exposed self tapping screws on the wings, the "RAM coating" is likely similar in performance to the "Have Glass" coatings on F-16's, and the fact the SU-57's engines are not tucked, so from a frontal perspective its probably not very stealthy. I agree with the public assessment that its radar return signature is likely akin to a Block III SuperHornet.
Careful. You'll anger the tankies and vatniks
Yeah! You are flying SU-57. Thanks you so much. I commented to you in previous video. 😊
Lol that 2nd hypersonic missile, made in China delivered by AliExpress 😂

That second hypersonic almost hit its target -- an imported Massey Ferguson just minding its own business. 😆
That tree knows what it did
The tree was planted by Waffen SS troopers in 1943, Replacing a tree they cut down to use as a christmas tree at thier division headquarters during WW2.
The axehead has an advanced "anti nazi" detection system. It read the facist leanings of that tree and decided it needed to be eliminated for the greater glory of the russian people.
Pretty sure that hypersonic saw a squirrel and just decided "not today"
I love when he uploads the su57 it’s just so cool the way it moves
Hypersonic missile: Ger the bird! Get the bird! Get the bir... SQUIRRRRRRRRRELLLLL!!!!!!
