    That first round in particular was a textbook example of what I would expect 5th Gen/F-35 doctrine to look like in real life.
    Very much looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the DAS, Cap. Good matches. Really shows why stealth is worth the added complexity, smaller loadouts, etc.

    Brilliant strategy from the gates with the F-35's. I think the second run was probably the best for the Eurofighter, it was like a rearguard action in a tactical retreat. If you were really in a Eurofighter up against 5th generation aircraft, that's exactly how you should do business, so hats off to Poosh and the boys for demonstrating damn fine tactics!! The highlights for me though were both in the third round, first when Simba dove, then inverted and dove again over a mountain range to evade a meteor!! Then of course was Matrix for scoring an F-35 kill, as I recall the only one in the match!! Great flying as always Grim Reapers!!

    I'm British. I gotta say the F-35 is my favourite aircraft probably of all-time (sorry Viper). The F-35 is designed to make every other aircraft obsolete. The leap of tech is astounding. I love the Eurofighter as a 4th Gen it really is the best. The Eurofighter has the acceleration and poise of the F-16 with the loadout of the F-15, wonderful combo. The F-35 is something really special IMO, that many people are sleeping on. The reason for all the negative press is because competitors are sh*t-scared of it. The F-35 is the little, more capable sister of the F-22 that costs a lost less.
    I know the F-35 is like 15% British 5% Other and 80% American. So the girl has some British blood in her, being the UK is the only Level 1 partner alongside USA. Fact is when the F-35 went to Red Flag it performed a 20:1 kill ration more than any other aircraft. Also the F-35 maintains a higher mission capable rate. The F-35 is a do's it all aircraft which I know is always worrying (eggs in one basket), however the F-35 has so much put into it and looking at how it is performing so far I have very high hopes. I know a few have crashed, tho if you look at every other aircraft in first years of operating, the F-35 has crashed way less than those.

      I agree with everything said, but I think the thing that people sleep on the most when it comes to the f35 is its looks! Call me crazy, but I think she's an absolute beauty, stuby design and all.

      @@tylerdurden4006 What the fuck do you mean "can't fight or fly?" The F-35 has been flying combat missions routinely for years and has been dominating Red Flag and other exercises since the moment it entered service. It's even had fewer crashes per flight hour than any US combat aircraft except the F-22, not a single one of which has so far been fatal. Readiness rates are generally lower than is desired, but this is mostly a result of administrative problems within the program, especially the widely-detested resupply subcontracting system, rather than being any fault of the plane. The only reason for the impression of it not being capable is bad reporting about early intentionally-gimped testing models rather than the performance of the mature aircraft.
      Fat Amy is a beast of a fighter and it's really no wonder that basically every country that has the option to buy her has chosen to do so.

    As far as "Fat Amy" is concerned, I know you guys are flying the B model, but I think the US Navy needs a D version, with the big folding wing of the C and the cannon of the Alpha. not gonna be edgy like some people asking but the RWR is kinda important for locating the f35s here so would it be possible to do a rematch once it's working. I think with RWR, IRST and Asraams the eurofighter can win

    • @kinematics7092
      @kinematics7092 Рік тому +15

      The actual F-35 has a LPI radar that minimizes RWR returns, so yes it would work in DCS, but if the F-35 was fully modeled, it would be even more skewed in its favor.
      EDIT: The lack of RWR makes it MORE realistic rather than less

    • @Utubesuperstar

    • @lonurad1259
      @lonurad1259 Рік тому

      I'm looking into it and it's not that the f35s radar wouldn't give off a warning, it just won't give off a warning or a proper warning to older RWRs. Comparing DASS to other RWR systems out there it's quite unlikely it couldn't detect the F35s Radar.
      Unless we know exact figures we can't work it out and only assume.
      Considering the fact BAE had their part in developing the RWR for the f35 too it's likely the system on the eurofighter is similar to some degree assuming that the f35 would be able to counter their own radar (you'd imagine that'd be a priority)@@Utubesuperstar

In good conditions ISRT will detect F-35B at about 60 miles passively. So Typhoon could fly in at 65,000 feet giving its missiles much, much longer legs, fire, turn and run before F-35B is in range.

    Just saying :
    The F-35's RCS maybe around 0.002m2, but that's not 360° around the jet, past the F-35's 25-30° frontal it's RSC goes up to around 2.5m2, the 0.002m2 is between it's 10-25° frontal. Ie you can see the F-35 from a longer range more often, not just 19 miles always at all angles.
    The Typhoons DASS is a lot more capable then what you claimed in game.
    The IRST Pirate is capable of sending it's information to the Captor M Radar, meaning when the IRST has found a target the Captor M can be used to forces on a certain point with pushing more power to see said target.
    The Typhoon in general is a lot better in real life, then what you showed in the game, "Stealth" doesn't mean it's better or that it's impossible to beat.
    Plus i believe the F-35 isn't getting the Meteor till 2027 now, so it's still using the older less capable AIM-120's, not to mention the Typhoons are getting new Radar Systems, the UK Typhoons will be Getting the Captor E2 the most capable Captor version out of the 3 types, in I believe 2030 or sooner, plus the APG-81 and new APG-85 maybe the best now, but it's stated that the Captor E2 will give the APG-85 a run for its money, so the Typhoon 4.5 gen isn't out of the fight yet vs 5th gen's. The Typhoon is just getting better.
    There is a reason why the Typhoon is classed as the most deadliest/advanced Swing-Roll Fighter.
    I know you guys get a lot of your information from Wikipedia, so maybe that's why you ended up with the result you did.

    F-35B will not have Meteor until AT LEAST 2036 - not only is the short fin Meteor project running late, F-35B will require the block 4 software update - if the UK can afford it when it arrives. British F-35Bs are currently carrying old stocks of AIM-120B and AIM-120C as we didn't buy AIM-120D. Oh and by the way, RAF pilots have been tracking F-35B at up to 90 miles (depending on aspect) with Tranche 3 onwards aircraft - UK F-35Bs do not fly with Luneburg lenses. Stealth is history - modern RADAR data processing has already defeated it. Tranche 3+ Typhoon CAN guide Meteor on IRST data alone of course at some point the Meteor will have to take over with on-board RADAR. I wish we would develop an IR guided Meteor.

    I just think the F-35 is ugly. It's abilities are astounding, but it's ugly. Not A-7 or A-10 "So ugly it's cool" but it just looks pudgy. When the F-22 was first unveiled, I remember reading a quote from someone in Air & Space who said that it looked like "a Tomcat with a water retention problem." Those curved surfaces serve a definite purpose, but they don't look sleek or like a weapon. It looks like they were made to be easy to swallow. Again, both amazing aircraft, but the aesthetics just aren't there for me.
    Eurofighter, however, looks like you could put it on the end of a spear and really mess someone up.

      I dont know about availability rates for the eurofighter but the F35 has SERIOUS maintenance issues where almost half the fleet is grounded and many of the early airframes have dramatically reduced service lives due to design flaws.
      We will start seeing some those F35s being retired within the next couple of years just because they've used up their gimped airframe life.

    • @Minigoat_92
      @Minigoat_92 Рік тому +1

      Gen 1 is original jets, eg ME262, Meteor.
      Gen 2 is next, think F-86, F-100, F-104, Mig-15, Mig-21.
      Gen 3 is things like F-4, Mig-23, Mirage 3
      Gen 4 is F-14, F-15, Mig-29, SU-27.
      Gen 5 is tipified by stealth and massive sensor capability, things like F-22, F-35.
      Gen 4.5 are jets that are basically gen 4 airframes with some low detectability features to minimise RCS, and sensors close to what gen 5 has. Aircraft in this kind of gen are F/A-18 Super Hornets, Late gen SU-27 and similar versions, Eurofighter, Rafale.
      SU-57 is Arguably a Gen 4.5++, super maneuverable and slightly stealthy with some (claimed) very potent sensors.
