Not even my atheist neighbors would kick a Bible out of respect for Christians
I'm an atheist and I was disgusted when the Bible was kicked.
That is horrible! I was taught to handle my Bible with respect for the contents. It is irreverent to say the least! I would say run away fast from such church. If you can call it that.
And 30 second theology???? What!!!!??? If you think such antics will lead someone to salvation, I have big questions. I actually find myself a bit speechless! Well football tends to be done people’s little god.

The first time I seen the video of the woman kicking the Bible I felt like my world stopped. Heartbroken doesn't even begin to describe the feeling I felt. 💔
I can't even imagine kicking the Word of God. That blows me away. How could anyone even think about kicking the True living Word of God.

What’s weird is that another guy covered the crossroads church clip, and someone in the comments, said that he or she worked there, and that they really just ticking around the Bible cover. But if you listen to the clip, they referred to it as “kicking the Bible.“ So the irreverent attitude is still there.
Also, my church uses movie trailers in an annual series, but we still do exit scripture. Granted, maybe it could be better, but I do hope it’s not to the same degree as these churches.
@@Getlostandwander and yet they still refer to it as a Bible in the clip, still refer to it as kicking the Bible. The irreverence is still there, and still applies, at least in a limited sense. They allow people to think they’re kicking a Bible around the parent, at least those who aren’t regular attenders and who don’t know any better). If a Muslim and mom were caught, so much is putting a Quran on the floor, things might not end well for him. If we treated the Bible with half, as much respect as Muslims treat the Quran, at least, physically, we would not be doing this.

You're absolutely right and the passage to which you're referring happens to be 2 Timothy 4:3-4, where we're warned by the apostle Paul that the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts they will raise up for themselves teachers, having itching ears and they will turn their ears away from the Truth and will turn to fables.

When I was in church when I was young my daddy's been a preacher my whole life he's passed on but I remember people being on their knees at the altar asking for forgiveness crying praising the Lord songs being sung giving God praise given Jesus prays that is what the kind of church I grew up in

Thank you for this reminder Justin. My husband and I have just left a seeker friendly church that we were heavily involved in for 7 years. Our eyes have been opened and we are now looking for a more Bible teaching church where we live. (Colorado Springs) I know there are many here we just have to find the right one. Bless you. 🙏
I was a youth pastor for a long time, and also did a lot with Young Life. We did tons of funny skits, games, characters, etc. Those were all parts of providing a fun and inviting environment for kids. But when we came to teaching God’s word, there was always a clear transition to the idea that THIS is what we’re really here for. To me reverence is taking the right things seriously. I’ve done the occasional skit or funny video for church announcements - but again, that’s a different thing than making a mockery of the corporate gathering of the church and the preaching of God’s word.
A “goat farm” is a 100% accurate description of these “churches”.
My sister's goats are more reverent than this. And the buck likes to pee on himself to make himself stink.

They went with a different angle than using fear. They use excitement, which is a disaster in and of itself, but it's alot faster than teaching people to shake with fear over a book.

I visited a seeker friendly church in California. (Not knowing it was one of those churches. I was invited to go to church with a neighbor). There were a couple of popcorn machines by the front door. You could get a free bag of popcorn before the service. The “sermon” was a series of video clips from popular culture on very large screens like a movie theater . There were some choruses that were sung, then the pastor wrapped it all up with a five minute talk tying the video to a theme in the Bible. That was basically the service. No serious Bible teaching occurred. The pastor announced that next week’s theme would be from Star Wars. I left there wondering : what was that? I will never go back there! Give me teaching from God’s word, not a circus with popcorn.
I went to a Bible study like that. I was so glad to finally find a Bible study in this trailer park I moved to. Turns out we watched a short video. That was it! No discussion afterword. I tried once but he had to get some where. This was their pastor! Week after week.
I went to a church a few years ago. One theme was movies (?) Yup. I found out the pastor was a "fan" of Andy Stanley and had permission from him to use his material. I don't listen to Andy after realising he's not a good preacher. Lock down happened, stuff went on and I left that church

Regarding Life Church.
I hadn't watched any of their sermons in a long time, but I was a volunteer for Life Church for a couple of years, including when they did 30 second Theology and At the Movies. I did set up for props and volunteered for the kid's "ministries".
Looking back, I rarely heard the gospel, and whatever bits of the Bible were read were read out of context. 90%+ was just whomever was speaking talking about themselves or whatever new book they were selling.
Their kids programs were not the worst thing I'd seen at first, but then they switched to some Tik-Tok inspired service that had almost nothing Bible related. The kids hated it, and asked us to speak about the Bible, and some of the people in charge got irritated at myself and my other volunteer partner for veering off their taking points to actually talk about the Bible. Those kids felt like they were being talked down to by the program, and were genuinely eager to hear the Bible. The people in charge wouldn't have that though. I stopped volunteering shortly there after.
My breaking point was a service where Craig Groschel spent 30 minutes talking about himself, and the only Bible verse was half a Proverb taken out of context and used to shill for his new book.
You're not going to get fed Biblically at Life Church.
Every bit of criticism Justin lobbed their way here is 100% warranted.

I experienced the exact same thing. I served in roots and life kids. The worship was just a bunch of paid musicians, they weren’t even believers. My final straw was when a homeless girl was sitting outside the church and it was cold everyone just walked passed her, no one stopped to see if she needed anything. I had come out after service and she was still there. I ended up giving her a ride to the bus station and sharing the gospel with her on the ride there. That showed me the heart of the “church”, very self centered and self righteous, they would always brag about their giving. I didn’t like that, the word of God said do t let your right hand know what the left is doing.
Craig Groeshel or whatever his name is is a self help motivational speaker. He's not a pastor. I'm so disappointed in the US Christian community for giving these false teachers such massive platforms when you have godly pastors struggling to keep their small churches open. Sad

Hi everyone, I’m not sure how I stumbled upon this video but it must’ve been a work of God. Over the past few weeks, I’ve felt like God is pulling me back to Him. I always thought of myself as Christian because I had been baptized, confirmed in the church, etc. However, I became lukewarm in my faith somewhere along the way. Now that I am being led to these videos and taught the truth, I realize that I never knew the full story about God, Jesus, the Bible, etc. My eyes are being opened and I couldn’t be more grateful! This is exactly why I stopped attending my last church. They've acted out scenes from The Chosen many times, and they do the Super Bowl theme now too. Dress up plays instead of sermons. No focus on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

It’s urgent ive missed so much and these Churches dont help. I have a sense of urgency and letting the spirit guide me.

So touched you took your Friend to a True Gospel Church! Dad & Mom took me to a Reverent Church,. Mom read me the Bible before I could talk. Dad taught me the Goodness of God + the Badness of Sin. Each with encouraging yet admonishing love. I knew 2 Things: God Loves me. I need Jesus to Save me. They befriended me with a righteous love .. emblazened by His pure Zeal .. faithful to disciple me .. counseling me Biblically 60+ years: all to make Jesus my High & Holy Friend: True Gospel. Real Love !

Even if my Bible hit the floor accidentally, I feel like I have disrespected God, and even ask for forgiveness that I dropped it. The Bible is the word of God and He is the word, so we should always handle the Bible with care. The part I saw where they kicked the Bible, made my blood boil and I was like, how God hasn't struck them down? But I remembered he is a merciful God and gives people time to change, but one day mercy will run out.
I'm an atheist (former Christian) and still treat my Bible with respect because it got me through some rough times. Never would I intentionally try to damage it. WTF.

It is shocking indeed and unfortunately, as the return of our Lord and the end of history draws nearer, such trends will be on the increase. In fact, in 2 Timothy 3:13, we're warned by the apostle Paul that evil men and seducers will wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

I live up the street from crossroads on Madison. I only go there for the Christmas play with my kids. I never knew they were like this. Me or my kid's will never step foot in there again

I lived near a Crossroads in NKY. They had like 2 services a day during the week before Christmas, so you could "get" the Christmas service done before Christmas Day. Made it seem like a holiday checklist item, rather than a solemn celebration of the saviors birth. Christmas Eve Vigil/ Midnight Mass/Christmas Day are the only times that "count" to me.
How I felt as I watched: Angered, saddened, sickened, over the hatred they display for God and his Word. Rejoicing, joyful, deeply moved, as I learned that God transformed, and ultimately conformed, our sister Sheri. To him be the praise forever and ever.
That renaissance painting, the garden of earthly delights (a three-way consequence painting) perfectly describes this entertainment junk that fallen churches do.

This Easter Sunday was mine and my youngest daughter’s 1 year anniversary getting baptized and joining our church. I’ve been watching UA-cam videos and listening to sermons and some of Greg Groeschel’s sermons really spoke to me, however I’ve never seen this side of his ministry. I’m also attending seminary at Batesville Bible Institute at Zion Hill Baptist Church. This has opened my eyes and it’s a real shame. I appreciate your candor and will pray for better discernment. I think it was Martin Lloyd-Jones who said that whatever you use to attract people is what you have to keep using to keep them. And when that happens, it becomes very difficult to eventually get to the essentials of the faith.
MLJ is one of my favorite nonliving theologians.
Now this statement actually makes sense to me but the problem that I see in this criticism of these types of churches in this video, especially in the comments left by people who may have or may have not watched the entire video but probably have never experienced any of these churches or church services first-hand for any more than maybe one service, is that there seems to be a lot of “religion” in the words used. Justin Peters and his viewers use a lot of phrases that sound like following Jesus is all about following some kind of rules like the Mosaic Law, rather than what lies at the heart of God’s Word. Kicking Bibles, explosions, football-themed services, movie nights, lights, blasting pop tunes and images of pop culture, serving coffee and popcorn or even alcohol, are all ways to draw people in or to entertain people and get their endorphins going, make them feel good about going to church, but maybe they don’t truly lead to saved souls? I don’t know. Justin Peters claims they do not. He says that they just create “goats” not “sheep” - people who cannot worship God not people who do worship God. The worship of gods in the OT, the Baal worshippers, the Asherah pole worshippers, the Romans and Greeks with their pantheon, are all chastised by the One True God, Jehovah Jireh, Elohim. Their “worship”, in some cases, amounted to chanting, overindulgence in alcohol, dance, sex, and animal sacrifice. There are parallels. I just want to know how the churches that believe that God will do all the work to draw people in actually draw people in to the church doors. How can we spread the good news without reaching those who don’t know it? WE are the church. The church is a building, yes, and an organization, yes. But WE are really the church. We are supposed to be witnessing to Jesus. So how do you plan to be a witness for Christ if you only go to church on Sundays in your tie and Oxford shirt and khaki pants, singing praise songs and hymns from the 1800s and early 1900s, when the ones who need Jesus are OUT THERE?
I just keep thinking of Jesus showing up …in all his terrifying glory…and imagining the shame we all will feel for how badly we’ve behaved.
There would be some table flipping if Jesus indeed showed in person. This is heartbreaking.

My stomach was literally sick watching these.. an people wonder why I don’t like the churches anymore especially where I live. I’ve always believed in Jesus Christ and God. I highly recommend trying a Pentecostal church out if you’re looking for more. I was baptist for years until I came close to God again and I was so unsatisfied in the Baptist church. I finally tried Pentecostal and I absolutely love it. I actually gain so much knowledge and praise God.

Please, don’t be a lone wolf Christian. God’s people need to worship, fellowship together as well as encourage and exhort one another. Please find a church that-
1. puts a high view on worship,
2. preaching that works through a book of the Bible (exegetical),
3. has a weekly prayer meeting where they really pray
4. has a proper view of the person and work of Jesus Christ
5. has materials available for personal Bible study. (The leadership should be equipped to disciple you and answer your questions.)
6. Has church membership. I want a church that is willing to discipline me if when confronted with a sin, I refuse to repent.
When you are in a good church, take notes. Sunday afternoon is a great time to go over them. I will be praying for you.
Praise God, and I know what you mean about getting sick to your stomach. I praise God that you are one of us. Churches are not something you can "just attend" like in the past. You have to critique them carefully. How? Read the Bible yourself, regular read it. Just like any other book. Keep reading it and then go looking for a church. Also, praying to God for connection to true Christians helps. Definitely recommend you do NOT start out with pentecostal. Just keep watching this channel and if you don't already know, pentecostal was the type of Christianity that led to the vast majority of heresies and blasphemies inside churches -- to this day.

I too don't attend church, due the fact that I can't find a true Bible believing church, and also the amount of people, including myself, who have been hurt badly by these fake, two faced lying hipocrites. They are everywhere. I guess the best thing to do is to just not get involved with the church, coz that's when you pick up trouble.

I am not a Christian . One best friend of mine has been a devoted Christian since we were in high school . Off and on throughout our lives I have made an effort to stay in touch with him. A while back I located him again and it turned out he was living fairly close to me. My wife and I went for a visit and him and I now are friends on Facebook.
My friend is someone I have always thought very highly of and I care about. I respect that you and your wife go by the book, the Bible. I had never felt labeled as an enemy by Christians until the political fusion with some Christian groups .
Despite the fact that I am not a Christian I watch your UA-cam channel and I find it educational and not promoting hate and fake showmanship.
I don't expect to get many likes for my post here but that's okay.
Just like you I find telling the truth is best even if others are not going to like it or agree.

I have found 2 Bible Believing Churches however (Saint Paul's Church-Evangelical Connexion of the Free Church of England, Fleetwood, and Emmanuel Church, the Free Church of England, Morecambe) , but, as both are in Lancashire, over 100 Miles away, I need to move house.

The western churches are just a big mess now. And too many of the churches are now becoming apartments in the UK and even worse...mosques. Centuries old churches, beautiful buildings... empty, being hired out for discos...it's very sad.
The UK will have to rise up and defend your culture. After all, it didn't become this way on its own. Revival is long overdue everywhere. We Yanks are praying for you.

Here on the Isle of Wight , England , a small number of former church buildings have been turned into something else .
One is now a Wetherspoons pub/eating house in Newport . Others on the island have been turned into apartments.

The Sunday School class I taught this morning to Kindergartners thru Second Graders was an hour on Jesus and Zacchaeus, going over Jesus spending time with sinners, God’s law vs man’s traditions (Pharisees) and the fact that we’re all sinners. If those children could sit and take part in my class, participating and asking questions, then these people can put forward a worship service that is more than this silliness. This is sad but also makes me even more grateful for the children that I get to work with each week.

It’s so heart breaking. When I was telling someone about the Bible kicking church they said “it shouldn’t bother you, you aren’t doing it.” I said “yes, but they literally kicked the words that came out of my Father’s mouth! It breaks my heart that they are disrespecting His word, and that they can’t see how it must breat His heart that people gathered in His name are doing things like that.” Now I’m not going to sit here and say I’m without sin, I have to ask for The Lord to forgive me daily for something I didn’t use my brain about. But it breaks my heart to see things like this. I am going to be praying for these churches.

Wow! I grew up with great respect for my Bible. My mom taught me to not ever put anything on my Bible. But to give it a place of respect...so sad. Glad my mom has gone on to Heaven...this would break her heart. I feel like crying. All this is so wrong. My prayer list is so long and getting longer every day. We need to pray for these folks and pray hard.
