A car detail job done well. First time I have seen this model from Volkswagen, thanks for posting this one. Skilled labour detail on this has increased the value and revealed a lot of originality.
This car was totally designed and assembled in Brazil, beautiful sample of a old engineering made by hand without any computer aid system. Was very expensive basically because low quantities produced for that market on 70s and the engine was not really a good choice for the sport style of the model. Anyway, great historical car that deserves a full restoration.
This is a Brazilian car, the car's license plate "São José do Rio Preto" is nearby my city. It is a cool car, deserves a restoration and an engine swap🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I had a souped up custom Karmann Ghia years ago and would go for it again, but this car looks really neat. Put a souped up motor in that and it would be sweet!
Greetings from Sydney Australia. I have a 1966 Holden HR. Right hand drive, three speed manual column shift. The car is my profile photo. Drives like a 58 year old car would.
Brazilian cars were always a little slower. But if tou compared this VW SP2 with my VW Gol 1992 it is a little faster even though my Gol is 1.6 as well (they are 20 years apart)
Rare and a historical significance... Improved the channel with a little bit of car history.... Find rare cars more because this has greater value than others doing the same cars all over again
FINALLY, someone who ACTUALLY KNOWS how to properly wash a car! Foamy soap FIRST to loosen and prevent scratches, BEFORE spraying with high pressure spray!👍👍😉
I was going to say maybe $700 but then you cleaned the interior and also did paint correction with that in mind now i believe i would charge around $2,500. Worth every penny...Amazing job!!! 👍👏
Nice ride Oh I'd love to clean my 69 caddy but the power washer terrifies me with all the wiring Looks nice PS what's the fetail soap/ cleaner you used??
I've been trying to clean a friends Nissan Cube that has been sitting outside under some Douglas Furs for the past two years that has years of built up sap and oxidation that looks like it's khaki color that I've used 266 Citrol Cleaner, Griot's Sap Remover, water spot remover AND tried buffing it out with a micro fiber pad and compound with limited results that still looks bad. Any recommendations?
Neither the engine nor the vinyl interior parts should be glossy when you're done with them - that's not their original finish. The engine should not have dressing sprayed on it as it will turn yellow over time. The vinyl interior parts should be finished with a product that doesn't give them an artificially glossy appearance, as that's not what they looked like when they were new.
Never heard of this model before. Must be one of the "made in Brazil" specials. Also hearing guys talking Portuguese certainly points in that direction.
typically known in Brazil, the VW SP-2 , a car not very well known elsewhere and its design literally being sold to Porsche to create the 928/944/968 platform. not many SP-2's are left in the world that are in a condition to drive.. most have rusted out need tons of work ect. the ones who did survive will cost anywhere between 30000 and 70000 (and rising)
WELL YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST AUTOMATOVE DETAIERS IN THE WORLD WELL DONE ITS AN OBSESSION AND A GOOD ONE LOVED YOUR VID P.S 1986 PROSCHE 911 CARERRA TARGA BABY
In absolut mind condition this one is worth around 40 000 € in this rustbucked condition 3-5 000 thats the best offer he will achieved and as I said before it´s more ore less a wreck .
Not so rare, however the SP2's were only available in Brazil. This mount of detailing is pointless. Clean it up then dismantle this car & rebuild. I would remove the anemic motor & replace it with Porsche motor. Upgrade the entire system wiring harnesses, basically take the Porsche Cayman or Boxter set up & incorporate ll of it into this 1972 Chassis.. Yes I understand classic car but the design is superb but it needs modern performance upgrade..
Same way id clean any car Apc/degreaser Alkaline snow foam 2 bucket Acidic wash Fall out remover Tar and glue remover Neutral snow foam Clay bar Polish Ceramic sealant wash Wax it
Amazade that it is actually a steel body car. The asking price is to high in my opinion. If it was a fully bolt and nut restored vehicle one can negotiate the price. I live then especially the shape and dashboard
If I had the car and the money 💵 I would have put a Porsche motor and transmission or a older Ferrari engine and transmission. And of course body work.
Getting parts for that car should be just about impossible, no I wouldn't pay $50,000 for it, that car actually needs a full body off restoration. Unless there is some 3rd world country with a big stock pile of old/new/used VW SP2 car parts, then messing around with this car is just a waist of time and money.
I dont want to clean it. Rust is more the problem with this car if it looks like this. manny years of Restoration ant lots of monny will be spend. Dammaging Paint JOKING? the Paint is long gone nothing to worry about!. I Sold mine 10 Years ago in perfeckt condition for 50000 EUR. But it is a realy nice Car.
That car is probably worth some money today. because it's so rare. I have never seen or heard of a vehicle like that.
It is kinda rare i guess! Specially at the US
Nunca vi um desses aqui no Brasil.
Já vi em sites de venda, mas pessoalmente nunca a oportunidade de ver um.

Yes, needs a proper restoration but without the engine swap. Such a rare survivor should be kept original.
Fantastic job
I had a souped up custom Karmann Ghia years ago and would go for it again, but this car looks really neat. Put a souped up motor in that and it would be sweet!
What a cool looking car, even now, must have been something else in 1970. First I'm knowing of VW's SP2 - Thanks for the upload.
Greetings from Sydney Australia. I have a 1966 Holden HR. Right hand drive, three speed manual column shift. The car is my profile photo. Drives like a 58 year old car would.
Never seen one of these cars before, very cool! Great job!!!
Thank you!
you guys nailed , you are detailing an old car , not performing a miracle , great job. greetings from NYC...
Thank you!
Yes, very rare vehicle. Great design.
Absolutely classic
Beautiful car when new
Subtitles for the narrator only 😂
I like the 65-66 Mustang fastback!😁🛠️
i LOVE this car......even though the speed isn't there!!
Can easily be modified to produce 150hp

Yeah it’s got a super retro look to it, ever had a VW yourself? I had two convertible rabbits, loved them!

It's like a sports car version of the VW fastback. Never heard of this.
Only made for Brazil
@@mikewalters8253 Too bad. 😞

Thank you friend! 2.500$ is a reasonable price sometimes!
This is a absolutely beautiful looking car. It’s such a shame we don’t get these kind of shapes now at least they’re unaffordable level.
I wonder if the period engine of a Porche would have fit, and if the rest of the car could've handled it without too much mods.
Nice ride
Oh I'd love to clean my 69 caddy but the power washer terrifies me with all the wiring
Looks nice
PS what's the fetail soap/ cleaner you used??
Ah yes, the Porsche Mustang byBMW of Brazil, I remember it fondly!

Bow off to paint and body work..
Get over yourself
@@joecuthbert2517 Great job sharing your lack of detailing knowledge with everyone on UA-cam.
@@joecuthbert2517 up yours?👍
@ryantzer agreed on engine bay but some leather restoring waxes do provide a mild sheen on interior

Thats right!
I’d like an AMC AMX III
what kind of cleaner guys you go on whith
Well did on the Volkswagen, long time since a classic was detailed. Including the seats, look for a donor car with seats.
Bom dia, Where is Brazil are you guys?
never seen one of these before, slow or not its cool

Made in Brazil.
I believe that car is Brazilian, correct?
Yes!
All old cars should get an LS upgrade 😂
No. Keep original. Preserve and restore to original spec.
Remember have seen some of these in Africa, was doing a funny noise thanks to the flat four.
The engine can be boosted up to 200hp, then it will be a sports car.
I would clean it very carefully as this must be a very rare car now.

So I'm wondering why was this car abandoned in the first place? What's wrong with it?
We dont know!
Isent that a brasilian mainly car or am I wrong?
It is!
50k pesos maybe
This thing needs to be disassembled!
Why?
For me it should be totally rebuilt.
With the rust and dents. Maybe 6. Tops
totaly ok,

Wash with solution of small amout of soap with kerosen in a bucket of warm water.
I know you’ve cleaned it but what’s the point when restoration is what’s needed so really wasted time and effort IMO
The wheels are okay
I think that's about 15 more horsepower than a beetle!

Never pressure wash a car that's valuable.
Outside US $15.
How can this be a 70 when they didn't start making the car till 72? Only the prototype "X" was even drawn up at that time...
great job but not the worth for this car
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

He meant 1972, not 1970.
