Catboy sounds adorable! I'm definitely gonna check it out when I get stressed as a way to unwind. Thank you so much for the recommendation! ❤
It was a great time! I hope you enjoy it 😊
I've been watching all your videos in a row, so this feels like a great culmination, haha! Camp Damascus sounds really interesting, I will be adding it to my TBR for sure. I read The September House in October as well, and I really appreciated the balance of humor while also dealing with heavy topics and using the horror as a very overt metaphor. I think I would have liked it more if I hadn't listened to the audiobook, the narrator didn't quite hit the balance of the shifting tone in their reading.
Firstly, tangles are my absolute fav, I am never without one, shout out to tangles! Awww I want to read Garlic so baddddd and I need to get my hands on Camp Damascus yesterday - as an exvangelical autistic lesbian I was already interested but hearing from you that it’s such good autistic rep is just the cherry on top! 🙌
Yay tangles!! 💛✨ I hope you enjoy Camp Damascus as much as I did! I’m excited to hear your thoughts 😊
Yesss Camp Damascus! I adored that book, and totally agree that one of the only parts that didn’t quite work for me was how quickly issues were resolved. I feel like if it was just like 50 pages longer, things could have been developed a bit more and less tidy. Overall still adored it though and I’m excited to see what else Chuck releases as I believe he has a 3 book deal with his publisher, starting with this one
Exactly! And this is SUCH a promising debut novel, so I can’t wait to see what he does going forward
Im trying to catch up on UA-cam and I’m really happy to listen about all the book that you read even do I know about them from your different videos💛 I am here for your amazing vibe
Thank you so much! 😊
Oooooh I need September house on my TBR!!!! Everyone seems to love it!
Definitely! It was a huge (very positive) surprise for me 😊
Absolutely adore your pillsbury Halloween cookie earrings 🎃💜 I’m so interested in The September House! Need to check it out 👀
Thank you! 🎃👻✨ And I’m excited to hear what you think if you end up picking it up! 😊
I am SO HAPPY to have found your channel! You seem like such an awesome human!! I felt the same about Dark Harvest. It was a great autumn read but kind of forgettable for me. And I really enjoyed September House for its character study. I loved how kooky it was and I really really cared about the main character. I can’t wait to watch more videos from you!! 🎃👻
And I’m so happy that I’ve now found your channel!! 😊
Great wrap up, Erin! I got some good recommendations from this video. And some clear ones to avoid, lol. That’s too bad about The Haunting on the Hill being a bit of a let down. I still have to read The Haunting Hill House! Once again, I love your sense of humor. I enjoyed the video! :)
Thank you so much! I’d love to hear your thoughts on Haunting of Hill House if you ever decide to pick it up 😊
The way I’m about to drive to the library to pick up Camp Damascus right after work today
Yeeeeeeeeeeeees!! I hope you enjoy it!
18:00 I was so disappointed with a haunting on the hill, it had so much potential!! 😢😩
I really want to read garlic and the witch! I loved garlic and the vampire! 🧄
It’s such a bummer, but I’m also glad to know that I’m not alone in feeling that way! Garlic and the Witch was a great time though 😊
Great wrap up 📚☕🎃👻🦇🐸
Thank you! 🎃🖤
5:30 so that's a no then! 😂
18:14 AHH the disappointment of massively high expectations not being met! I need to read The Haunting of Hill House at some point
I really did it to myself!
SC-ERIN PLS 💀💀💀 i accidentally read garlic and the witch first and now i'm so excited to go back and read garlic and the vampire, i adore the characters, they're cute as heck!!
ALSO. AN AUTISTIC QUEER HORROR?!? SAY LESS BESTIE. i also had no idea that chuck tingle was autistic himself. i've yet to read anything by him but i shall definitely check him out now.
dang dang dang still interested in checking out haunting on the hill but expectations are definitely lowered now!!
I know, right?? It was honestly really impactful for me! I think he did a fantastic job with the rep. I’m stoked to hear what you think of it!! ✨
And honestly the lower expectations might mean you like it more! Hopefully that’s how it works out 😊
so excited for camp damascus now as a fellow autistic lesbian!! i think the only book i've ever read by an autistic author with autistic characters was heart of stone by johannes t evans which was such a banger but i really need to expand my horizons
Yay! I hope you like it! 💛✨ And let me just add that to my TBR 👀
I loved the book Dark Harvest and I rated it 4 stars, I found the book much better then the film though
I’m so glad you enjoyed it so much! It was one of those reads for me that I could objectively tell was fun and interesting, but just didn’t quite work for me. Love that it worked for you though 😊
