This is such a pain. I'm stuck on getting the new lines in place. I haven't tried lowering the diff yet, wish me luck.
How did you end up doing it? I'm about to do the same thing :/
Helps to show what you are unscrewing. I’ll look for another video
I have a 2015 Silverado 2500hd that the transmission is overheating. Is there a thermostat on that transmission it connects the same as your transmission where it doesn’t have the bypass valve. Thanks for a great video
What was the torque for the bolt for the block to the transmission? Thanks for the upload, getting ready to replace my line on a 2wd
I believe it is 89 in. lbs. It’s not real critical to use a torque wrench on it. About as tight as a drain plug is good enough.
brother I have a question for you! my car has a problem it shows me on the hot transmission dashboard what do you think is the cause of that fault
If it's common that they leak from the factory with OEM parts, then wouldn't logic dictate the replacement OEM part would also fail?
Most likely it will eventually start leaking if there hasn’t been an update. Most of the time an OEM will redesign a part if there are known issues. The parts dept can usually tell if the part has been updated. In my experience most aftermarket parts fail much sooner and the fit is usually off. I’ve had brand new Dorman lines leak right out of the box.
Can this be done without a lift? I'd have to do it on my back if possible.
It’s not fun, but it can be done
I have a question the line that goes to the drivers side of the cooler is the hardest to get through the front round cross bar and core support how do you maneuver the those two pieces?
There’s no easy way to get them in there. Pay close attention on how you remove them so you can do the opposite when going back together. Sometimes you may have to bend the lines a bit and then bend them back once you get things in place.
Hi, i have a 2010 4.3 v6 silverado and yesterday i saw a loose hose under the truck, just under the driver seat, the hose come out like for the top of the transmision. You know if this hose is normal? it was dry.
Thaks for your time
Was there a cap on the end of it? It might be the vent hose. They are usually about a 3/8” hose about 18” long and are tied up to the frame rail or fire wall. Sometimes the clip holding them falls off and the hose dangles down.
@@mikesgarage2851 thanks!
i found the clip!
Hello sir. where is your shop located? I need that done in my truck.
What is the name of the part that you changed? I have the same problem. You have the number of the part. my silverado is 2010 LT 1500
It’s called the transmission cooler lines. You’ll have to have the parts store look it up. They could be different depending on the engine, transmission, and if it’s 2 or 4 wheel drive.
Would it be the same on a 2010 GMC 2500
What’s the top aluminum line on the radiator 4:51
One side is the trans cooler and the other is engine oil cooler.
What's all that leaking??
Did you have to drain fluid ?
No you do not. Although when you pull the line a small amount will come out so have a drain pan ready at the end of the line that you pull.
