This video is about a Ferruginous Hawk and the family that saved him. A man, Rob, brought an injured hawk to Martin. They had seen the hawk near the road. Rob's son took off his shirt and used it to capture the hawk. Then they brought it to Martin. In an initial exam, Martin suspected the hawk had been hit by a car. After placing the hawk in a chamber, the hawk showed problems with balance then blindness. Martin did a simple test of the hawk's sight by moving his hand in front of the hawk. He concluded the hawk was not seeing him. Likely this was the effect of a concussion. Martin did what he could for the hawk, making sure he had plenty of food and a quiet, dark place to heal. Fortunately, this hawk did recover after staying for a few weeks. The hawk began flying well and exhibiting other signs of a healthy hawk. While the hawk healed however, Rob was in a bad car accident that took his life. For the hawk's release, his family stepped in to release the bird in Rob's honor. What a wonderful thing Rob did, and his great act of kindness and knowing where to find help for this bird, resulted in a truly wonderful occasion. God bless all.
Another beautiful release! Praise Yah' ! I watch to the very last second to see a dedication memorial too that beautiful sole Rob that wasn't around long enough for the release. If it is possible I would humbly suggest that you add in a pic with Rob's pic and life dates (born/passing). If the family was ok with it of course. Thank you very much for all that you do! God Bless Van🇨🇦
Please know that his act of kindness does not go unappreciated. I'm from Kansas and I think it's wonderful that there are alot of us all over that care so much about animals. Rip Rob.
What an amazing legacy Rob has left for his family and for those who knew him, I hope his family feels peace every time they watch a hawk circling in the sky and that his memory lives on through the generations through this beautiful story.
Deep sympathy to Rob's family. I'm glad these moments of Rob's generosity and kindness in rescuing the hawk were captured on video. A beautiful release by Rob's son. Rob was right, we all fight for our lives until we are free to soar.
Sad and heart warming. Thank you to Robs family. And so sorry for your loss. Rob seemed liked a sweet kind person. We are so short of those these days.
Rob's and his family's actions to help this lovely hawk did not go unrewarded. When this gorgeous fellow's circle of life is completed, I like to imagine he will visit Rob and thank him. A wonderful video.
So beautiful... watching the release from Rob's sons hands in slow motion... you just feel the power...then think of Rob and feel somehow his presence is now "one" with that hawk in that moment of release. Forever as one. 🙏❤ #RIPRob #Soarhigh
This brought tears to my eyes, one of my favorite memories of my Grandfather was the day we rescued a young raccoon from a snowmelt flooded river, we warmed him up in the truck, rubbed him dry and fed him some goatsmilk, once he was warmed up, we looked around until we found a place near where we found him, that was dry and sheltered, and left him there. We kept him within eyesight while we went back to fishing, and saw his mother sneak out of the bushes, snatch him up, and look him over, before trundling him off. My Grandfather was, and remains, one of the greatest influences of my life, and i think i can say, he and Rob will probably get along, on the other side.
What an amazing legacy Rob has left for his family. So glad he was there that day for this sweet Hawk and that his son could release him and his family be there. R.I.P. Rob. 💜💜

It's basically "I love them even though they won't love me back" that's beautiful. I'm 2 years late for saying this but deep condolences for Rob's family. This last act of kindness has been eternalized in this video and will be remembered for a long time.
My condolences to Rob’s family. I’m happy he rescued this hawk, and thank Martin for taking care of him and was able to release him back into the wild! I love watching Martin’s videos. They are very interesting and educational!😊‼️❤️

I think it really hits me the most is in all the videos I've watched of you, where Martin says "its okay kiddo, you can bite me, I won't mind" "I get bit everyday"...I think what kind of person wouldn't mind getting bit by an Eagle, or Hawk or other large bird? Someone with a big heart, a heart of gold.... God bless all of you, and keep up the good work...thank you again for all of these videos too, I watch them...and I'm amazed/touched/educated
The release part always makes me cry. Trying to imagine being caught sick and imprisoned and then so surprised to be released. I'm sure this meant a lot to Rob's family.
Martin, I only found and subscribed to your channel a few weeks ago and have been binge watching your videos. Firstly I must say that I'm in awe of your dedication to the critters that you helped, rehabilitated and returned to the wild. I have a male Red Tailed Hawk which I have flown for 12 years now and always feel privileged for him allowing me to join him on his hunt and returning to the fist at the end of the day. Please keep up the good work and best wishes all the way from Bonnie Scotland.
