They really are a awesome creatures. Definitely a cool catch! It's a good-sized one for this region. But I'm sure down there you can find a much larger one! Thanks for sharing
I plan to set for them when it warms up a little more and see if we can't pull a monster out of there!!! I was told there is a REALLY REALLY REALLY big one that was seen over there awhile ago. Hopefully he's still in there! lol
Good trap brody 💪🏾
We used to take nylon cord and a big hook and hook a chicken thigh and sling it out in the pond and catch some big turtles.
I might end up trying that method shortly!

Those common snappers can be real mean. He is probably just a little cold. When the weather warms turtles in conibear traps is a problem
I can imagine! I plan to go back to that pond and set a few cage style traps for snappers when it warms up.
Cool stuff. A wee bit different from our trapping up here in Canada 😁
I’ve been meaning to try that as well. Good luck and keep us updated. We went to an old guys house one time and he served us snapper in the shell. 😂 🐢
Will do! How was the turtle in a shell!?!? lol
@@bloodsweatandgears87 It was alright! 😂 Little to much for the wife… 😂 it was the shell, head, legs and the whole nine yards. 😂
@@CountyLineAdventures Wowwwww.. lol.. didn't know all that was still attached!!! 😂😂😂
Man they aint nothing better than turtle meat.
I've never had it, but plan to try it in the next couple months! I'm planning to set a few repeating style turtle traps out in May or June.
