  • In this week's video, I am sharing a sneak peek into my own Studio Journal. This journal is one of the most important pieces of my abstract process as it is where I work out ideas, make notes, and think through the process I have for each painting. It has played a huge role in creating the artist I am today as it helps to keep me from getting lost. So if you would love to take a peek, tune in now and let me know if you use one as well below in the comments

When I go into my studio and start splashing paint and enjoying myself, that's when I feel the best. Nothing serious, just having fun. The best feeling allowing yourself to feel free.

Hi Louise, Happy Easter from Scotland. Thanks so much for generously sharing your tips and process. I'm really enjoying your videos and your artwork. I'd never heard of Inktense blocks before, I've only used Caran D'Ache. The Inktense look great, can you use them on top of acrylic paint?

Great inspiration! Thanks. May I ask what kind of paper is in your book? I like to make my own sketchbooks.

Would love to know where you get the square sketchbooks that can hold up to collage/mixed media.

Love this idea Louise. Looks such fun. Did you gesso any of your pages first?

wWhat is the water-soluble soft green stick I find inktense very hard. I need my mantra to be stop being precious in my art as I have in my life!

I love the idea of printing some things out to put in your journal. My printer needs an upgrade. What kind of printer do you use?

Does painting directly in the book cause the pages to warp? I love the idea of printing photos so I don't have to cut up the original.

Maybe it's just me but I had to use the subtitles to get what you were saying as the only sound after the intro was the music but for some reason the closed captions worked. Inspiring video and something I'll have to ponder.

So sorry to hear you had trouble Becky. It seems to be working on our end so I am not sure what the issue is.
