The WRC is the FIA World Rally Championship, a tough motorsport using rally cars on real roads around the world. Watch the best rally drivers battle on gravel and asphalt roads with mud, rain, dust, ice and heat! Watch high speed action as the rally drivers power slide and drift round narrow corners, go flat out over a big jump or through a watersplash, handbrake turn round a hairpin, survive a big moment, or have a massive crash! Rally requires maximum attack and careful tactics to become world rally champion.
Each rally has timed sections called special stages, on closed roads. Drivers complete these stages as quickly as possible. A co-driver reads pace notes that explain the hazards ahead. Rally drivers use the same rally car to travel to each stage on public roads, following normal traffic regulations. The crew which completes all the stages in the shortest time is the rally winner. Championship points are won using the same scoring system as Formula 1. The championship is administered by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), motorsport's world governing body.
Over 30 countries have hosted WRC rallies. Rally Monte Carlo, Rally Argentina, Rally Finland, Rally Portugal, Tour de Corse on Corsica, France, Rally Sardegna on Sardinia, Italy, Safari Rally in Kenya, Acropolis Rally in Greece, Rally New Zealand, Rally Australia, Rally Japan, Rally GB, Rally Catalunya, Rallye Deutschland, Rally Mexico and many more.
Some of the world's greatest drivers have won the FIA World Rally Championship for Drivers, like Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Walter Röhrl, Stig Blomqvist, Petter Solberg, Ott Tänak. The list of world rally champions includes many Finnish rally drivers like Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen, Ari Vatanen, Marcus Grönholm, Hannu Mikkola. French drivers have had success with Sébastien Ogier, and 9 times world champion Sébastien Loeb. Famous drivers from other motorsports have come to try rally driving like Ken Block from Rallycross, and Robert Kubica and Kimi Räikkönen from F1.
Car companies compete for the prestigious FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers awarded to the most successful WRC constructor. Winners include Citroen, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Peugeot. Ford have had success with the Ford Escort, Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta when the M-Sport team won in 2017.
The 1980's featured the iconic Group B rally cars like the Lancia 037 and Delta S4, Peugeot 205 T16, MG Metro 6R4, Ford RS200 and Audi Quattro.
Japan dominated the 1990s with the Mitsubishi Lancer, Subaru Impreza, and Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla. Toyota returned to the WRC in 2017 with the Toyota Yaris WRC, winning in 2018. Hyundai won in 2019 and 2020 with the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. Find out about the latest winners and champions at www.wrc.com - Спорт
"Five left....five left..." Oh, I cried 😂😂😂😂😂
ow man those years with vw polo was awesome.
Hopefully VW comes back to rallying at some point, same with subaru. Meaning wrc1 cars
really, in a 50-year old championship all the top moments happened in the past six/seven years? not only crashes are top-moments. finally we are having a full asphalt round in almost two years and of all the recaps you could do, this is what you throw at us. WRC, you could and should be doing much better.
I'm baffled Gille's donut didn't make it. Easily one of the most iconic images of our sport
Gilles' donut, Loeb winning all stages on the 2005 Tour de Corse, Mouton's first win happened in the half-asphalt Sanremo, Bugalski F2 Xsara double victory, Raikkonen's stage win.... just to name a few. i honestly think they just either don't care or the person in charge doesn't have the knowledge or time to prepare. probably even he has to pay to access archive videos on WRC+
@@ogajodapinta Loeb won every single stage?! I know Corsica has only 10 stages or something and 2005 wasn't the most competitive with Martin and Gronholm struggling in the 307cc and Solberg having bad luck but that is mad. They wouldn't count Mouton win because that was done on half gravel (like a more extreme Rally Monza without ice). The kit car wins were controversial but it would be nice to remember Bugalski, every single onboard I've seen of Raikkonen he says "VITTU!" which is just hilarious, so his stage win would be very popular. Anyway they won't be able to post "TOP 5 CHAMPIONS" because after 2014 there have only been two, and they only care about stuff after 2014 XD. I bet they'd put Camilli in TOP5 ROOKIE because he was after 2014. Lappi first podium would make it in TOP5 MSPORT MOMENTS, Loeb podium in Turkey would be "LOEB GREATEST EVER MOMENT" and Tanak's last win in Arctic Rally Finland would be named "GREATEST EVER DRIVE!". And they wonder why no one watches it anymore. Shame really, it's getting pretty good again.
maybe the media rights of the older vids / onboards are not owned by them ?
@@BBRAIN1977 the older vids are on WRC+ so it seems unlikely
I wonder, what does the farmers think when those cars hit the plantation
Payday!
A lot of money They will have from insurance.
I think they are wishing they hadn't built a farm next to a race track
@@giovannieusebi955 that is not a race track just so called special stages...which are usual roads closed on few hours for the traffic to make competition on them possible.
I know I is a regular road, but it becomes a race track
0:21 similar thing almost killed Robert Kubica during rally in
Italy and destroyed his F-1 career. Guard rail was cuted off by local people to have a short cut.
N j no 9
No Panizzi 360 in 2002?
awesome video my friend 👍👍
Desde Canarias les esperamos q vengan jajajjajaja a correr aqui
crashes are not top moments
Lol imagine if Premier League had "TOP 10 LIVERPOOL MOMENTS" and 7 of them were own goals!
"5 LEFT!?
5! ! L E F T !!!!?"
I think the Meeke accident was on him and not the co-driver, you can hear 5 left, which is the very first turn, almost not noticeable. Then he says 3 left minus (which is where he goes out) into 2 left minus, I wonder if the call was late or he simply didn't notice the left 5 he just passed thought the one he got out was that left 5. You can hear him complain that to the co-driver after the crash.
The exact same thing I noticed. It seemed that the notes were paced just fine. There is a lot of notes coming up at that point though.
@@Ferunio1 exactly, that's why I believe Meeke got confused. Focusing on driving and listening to the notes is never an easy job.
@@Ferunio1 i am a rally driver and clearly 3 minus...i wondered why he was not breaking
@@carlosvales8697 oh he broke alright, when he hit the tree
Where's Gilles Panizzi donut at 2002 Catalunya Rally? Or Petter Solberg winning after mechanics fix destroyed car after shakedown? Or Loeb's Au Revoir at the 2013 Alsace? I just feel those were more memorable then the one's mentioned.
Or Roman Kresta in Monte Carlo 2002
@@zepter00 I forgot it was Kresta who did that... Knowing WRC channel today Tanak puncture in Monte 2021 would have more chance than that of making it XD
we need live videos from Kenya

A bon entendeur...
Hi, I'm à student and I'm broke so I cant afford the wrc+ subscription, does someone know where I can watch the évents for free ? and if there is a discord server or something ?
