The METRE GAUGE Trains of Uttar Pradesh - A Compilation of INDIAN RAILWAYS LOCOMOTIVE CLASS YDM-4

    Metre Gauge network of Indian Railways has always been an Interesting part; worthy of exploring, admiring, traveling and capturing. In my recent trip to the North and Western parts of India, I got an opportunity to travel in the MG trains traversing these parts, Part2 of which i am presenting to you now.

    In this compilation, I present a coverage of the MG network near Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Carrying on from the first part, My friends and I boarded the passenger which arrived for a crossing at Shahi, and headed back to Bijauria (as can be seen in the pics during the initial few seconds of the Journey). The Passenger dropped us at Bijauria and we headed Westwards and settled a few metres before the bridge over a small Canal. The first action we captured was the Aishbagh bound Ruhelkhand express, the MG Jansadharan of this section, which pulled into Bijauria led by IZN YDM4 6591. After this we explored the place a bit a found a spot which would portray the bridge in a beautiful frame. The entire surrounding was serene and peaceful, only to be disturbed by a shrill honk of a YDM4 leading the Tanakpur-Izzatnagar Passenger out of Bijauria. The reflection of the train in the water only added beauty to the spectacle. Post this capture, we took the next passenger service to Pilibhit; presently India's largest MG Junction, to refresh ourselves and get some lunch.
    The Junction offers a 4 way branch off for the viewer, with lines heading towards Mailani Jn.; Shahjahanpur Jn.; Tanakpur and Izzatnagar. It was buzzing with activity all through the afternoon, and we got to see a lot of YDMs; two of which I have presented in this clip; the Tanakpur-Shahjahanpur Passenger, which came for a loco reversal& the Shahjahanpur-Pilibhit Passenger Service which terminated at the station. After a light lunch and some exploring, we boarded the Ruhelkhand express back to Izzatnagar. IZN YDM4 6751 was our power this time. Another interesting thing which i noticed in Pilibhit was the concept of Signalling, it was some sort of a cross between Semaphore and MACL signals. As we headed out of Pilibhit, we bade goodbye to this unique combination and headed into MACL territory with some furious acceleration past the Devha River.
    Rushing through the countryside of Northern UP; we soon rushed past Shahi, where we were halted in the morning. After completing our scheduled halt in Bijauria, we departed as we recollected memories of the morning session of RF. Pretty soon we were racing past Sethal, where the token exchange process happened (apologies for the shakes). In the morning this was the same place where we crossed the Gokul express.
    Running through the rustic MG line through remote Jungles and fields, we were soon racing past Dibnapur halt station. The LPs displayed some furious notching and twin tone honking; music to any MG lover.
    Pretty soon we were knocking on the doors of Bhojipura Jn., and as we slowed down on the MG-BG Crossover, memories of the day came back to my mind. I could not cover the Bhojipura-Izzatnagar section since my memory card was full and i left the spares in the hotel room, but i was content with what I got. It was a journey filled with pleasant memories which I will cherish for a long time to come.

    I still remember the past days, when i used to go to Bareiley, Pilibhit, Tanakpur etc only from Kolkata to enjoy MG trains.

    Nainital express running from lko to lalkuan on this route was the best,with a very good speed

    From Agra Fort Rohailkhand Express used to run till Lucknow and a passenger used to run till Tanakpur from Agra fort

    In future there is no MG train in Indian railways. This is sad to MG lovers like me.

      Only heritage lines Darjeeling n Ooty will have inferior gauge railways

      But on those sections Meter gauge train won't be able to touch the speed as shown in ur this videos. India railways must preserve some route where we have atleast one meter gauge fast express train. Missing my childhood days

      Local people in some section themselves want broad gauge trains, because of higher speed and more capacity, like Gwalior Sheopur Kalan NG, Recently converted Jaipur Churu section etc

    The word "fading" gives an uncomfortable feeling if you are an MG Fan. Nevertheless, wonderful video. Hope some MG survives in NER !! God bless it with a long life.

      Operational cost recover nahi hoti, itna bhi important line nahi thi na. Haan Dudhwa waali stretch ko retain kar sakte the, tiger safari yaa aisa kuch bolke, lekin uska bhi koi update nahi
