I remember when I worked for Chanel Beaute in a department store, and the shopping bags were black glossy and had black cord for the handles. So much has changed. If you are claiming to be luxury then you need to be luxury! To be honest, I haven't bought Chanel Beauty in about a year and a half ago. I have actually switched to Dior. I'm a platinum member and I get deluxe samples and gifts from them. The Chanel makeup has been awful. The Tarot collection is not worth what they are charging, If they lose Olivier Polge, I am horrified as to what will happen to their fragrances. Ugh. Baconator needs to go!

So I always able to see the newest products of every brand each season every time I pass by. The only brand that I can't tell the design differencs between seasons is Chanel.

The prices are ridiculous! How much higher are they asking for the perfume??! I just bought the beige and paid $500 so I can only image its going to jump to $700. No thanks. I was always a Chanel girl but now with all the quality issues and obviously not thinking about their customers I'm definitely going to revoke my loyalty card. Its just not worth it anymore.
No, it's not about the Indian heritage in her. It's where she came from within the industry. Chanel dug their grave the moment they hired an American-style CEO that is only about c-suite and shareholder value. The moment you hire that, it's the kiss of death for a company. They run it to the ground, but mask the issues so that they can IPO the brands and then leave when the shit really hits. Chanel is in that, it will go public or become a branch of L'oreal/LVMH. The ones outsourcing to India aren't the Indians themselves, it's the American, Canadian, Europeans that want their corporate packages to increase in volume while company costs go down. The only time where her heritage kind of comes in, is her caste, and her upbringing and if she fled the country why her family did. Because it can mean that she is either left leaning (highly doubt it) or right leaning (as in the family was a higher caste which discriminates on others). If they fled due to left, or are right leaning that means she's into the "I call the shots, and no one else listens". But then, that can apply to anyone across the board, based on their politics. Since your politics and work ethic are tied.
I recently bought Chanel coco noir...the scent doesn't last all of 10 minutes and its the Eau de Parfum..I am sticking to all vintage frags from any company now and the drug stores seem to carry some nice ones...well better than coco watered down noir...lol

I hv long given up on Chanel, not those new release nowadays, esp after all the peak glory it had at a more sensible pricing in terms of lux. No chanel makeup (using cdp mainly) no Chanel perfume (using hermes perfume), but I love to see the “show” that Chanel is giving me, good for some peanuts and chill time 😂

Thank goodness that idiot Arthur is not at the helm, otherwise the Chanel brand would have turned into something ridiculous! After a creative and down-to-earth designer like Karl Lagerfeld, it's hard to find someone who can continue Chanel's reputation. Just as ugly men had no chance of promotion in the Byzantine Empire, Karl was a man of beauty. He traveled from Ancient Greece to Egypt, also Dallas to Edinburgh, and brought an eclectic side to the brand with his aesthetic perspective 💫 The new designer should definitely be someone who will take this further. I personally don't want to see someone at the helm of Chanel who promotes ugly designs under the guise of modern art 👻
