You have really Hit on a Great Theme now , Hank !! I love this , going thru conditions , then covering the bait options for that , and then if Conditions Turn On You Again , what the Best Options for Baits Would Be, for that Scenario too !! Now I really like the idea of an Upcoming Vid Series on this in the weeks, months ahead !!! I'd Ride that Hoss for awhile , Cuz !!
I appreciate this video Hank. I'm so used to throwing a worm as a follow to just about everything. This video will make me think twice about what I'm throwing next time. 🤘🎣
You put it into words best by describing the switch from hard to soft presentations. You nailed it on delivery for when to make the changes, and alot of this came from time on the water experimenting, and cycling baits, colors, profiles in areas where you have already been catching fish. Great knowledge Hank, I will go out for a day of fishing, try new baits and strategies .then come home watch UA-cam pro's on there feedback of a lure or presentations and compare overall strategies and feedback. I also Read and learn from comments on certain topics. Thx Hank for being a great bass resource, and Sharing your breakdowns on fishing 🎣.
Really good info in this one. Really helps me mentally organize my lures into two categories: subtle and realistic (soft plastics, under spin, jig) or 'LOUD': Spinner bait, topwater, jerk bait, crank bait. You explained when and why to use subtle vs loud. Great video.
That's great advise Hank. I usually start out with a reaction bait then switch over to plastics if I don't get bit. I have had great days just fishing swimbaits and changing colors has the weather changes. Sometimes the color for the conditions is the deal. I appreciate your wisdom!!👍
You hit I think one of the biggest points for fishin. Sometimes you gotta cycle through em to find what they want. I'm sad my closest pond is too snotted over now for cranks..😪
This was a much needed video for me. So far, my only success is in the morning with topwater around that surface scum gathered along the bank. Once that scum clears out and the surface slicks - nothing. My favorite spot is very pressured but bass can still be caught. I’m gonna give your advice a try.
Great explanation! I’m always guessing and usually just fall back on my confidence bait when in doubt, but that doesn’t always work. Thanks for the ideas!
This is the exact info I needed. Used to fishing cloudy dark and always using hard hairs and I have so much trouble clear water bright days. Going to try to up my soft plastic game next opportunity.
Thanks for that great breakdown!!!!👊🏻 Probably have to watch this video a few more times to let things sink in!! Everything made sense on what you said and glad for the advice. Looking forward to more videos showing us what to do in that situation. Stay Safe & God Bless!!!!
Had a great time today with the buzzbait and spinner bait. Partly cloudy, slight wind and a foot or two of visibility in the water. Even a jerk bait slayed.
@@BassGeek wouldn’t have known to try those without your excellent advice. Keep the vids rolling. Every time I hit a wall or get stumped, I find a new video from you explaining what to do next time.
I always fish hard baits over soft platics. I like hard baits because people have been catching fish with those for 100s of years and I like a a more traditional and reliable feel when I bass fish. I still love and fish soft plastics all the time though.
I’m with ya I love to toss hard baits and they are always my first go to but I’ve learned to duplicate the search bait with softbaits to get more bits when conditions change
I’m going to try this next time I’m out. I’ve been trying Debo’s mantra Find wood Pitch to wood with no success. Someone forgot to tell the fish in PA to hang out around wood.
I would like to hang out and just talk fishing with you sometime. I bet we could share some war stories, lol. Remember kids, if you wanna do something huge to help Hank out and it doesn't cost you anything - watch 100% of the video!
New subscriber. I've been going through your vids the past 2 days and they are very helpful. I fished alot until I was 16 and 24 years later I'm picking it back up. I purchased a bass boat 3 days ago so I'm pretty much dedicated to it at this point. Going through your vids I realized that I have very little knowledge of fishing but like I said at this point I'm dedicated. My question to you is, if you had 0% knowledge on bass fishing what video would you recommend starting with in your playlist?
Obviously I'm not Hank, but you might consider his lake break down video from 3 year's ago. The first thing imo you'll want to do is know what your lake has to offer structure wise and natural features. Then what stage are fish in, Post likely. Water temp can help a little bit here as to what the game plan might be. Then current conditions. Enjoy your time on the water!
Shew! I’m gonna be honest I don’t have them organized the way I want yet but for me The most important thing to know is bass migration. And the best playlist on that is not by me. Check out Hat Cam he has a great beginning playlist
Your very intuitive, informative, and (family friend) you definitely deserve way more recognition then you get in my eye oh that's right you don't have bikini clad women or basically naked women in your videos great upload bro..👍 Swimbait or softplastics are my definite go to..
How do I choose between soft plastics I live in South Florida and one minute it’ll be sunny wait 10 minutes and I’ll have to put on a raincoat I love a speed worm but I am only catching half pound bass any tips
I mean from the bank have fast clips on. Depending on grass and the type of pond your fishing. I would start with things like chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, lipless cranks, and topwater baits. Then based on cover, weather, and water conditions make the change. Speed worms are great but try a drop shot or rage toad, or a swimbait.
You can use belly weighted hooks and almost get soft jerks to suspend I do it all the time. Square bill wobble head. Lipless? Swimbait soft jerk, either you can put rattles in.
Hey Hank, awesome breakdown. We all sometimes struggle with knowing when to make the switch & with what. Appreciate you👊 Thank you!
Thanks I hope this helps
Great info, I struggle with decisions to adapt to changing conditions. Bookmarking this one to come back and watch again!
We are gonna do more of these

One of your best! Struggled with this being too stubborn. 30 second re-tie is no big deal.

Love the vids man I switched my spinning gear leader to 10 and we will see how it goes

Yup knowing what you should be cycling helps narrow it down. That sucks about the snot

Anytime really. Winter, summer, are great but gosh anytime
What’s the orange jug of juice you got on the boat? Looks tasty lol

You want bass? Use Yomomoto Zenko 5 inch worms with seedless setup.
I’m sure they work
Square bill ? Lipless crankbaits? What about suspending jerkbaits?
You can use belly weighted hooks and almost get soft jerks to suspend I do it all the time. Square bill wobble head. Lipless? Swimbait soft jerk, either you can put rattles in.
Ain't never had a problem with less penetration lol
LMAO!
