I’ve had two red girls. They were full siblings from two different litters. Mom cat was a red girl. Dad cat was a dilute red. First litter was two males- a red and dilute tabby. Next litter was four kittens. A deep rich red female tabby, a red point female, a red tabby male and a dilute red tabby male. The next litter was two females, one dilute red point and a dilute red tabby.

I always thought the fact that fur colors affected cats personalities was an urban legend. then i adopted my orange cat. she is the most friendly and affectionate cat ive ever had, follows me everywhere, while also being a huge idiot who constantly gets into things and causes trouble. she tries to befriend every human and cat she sees. basically, she fits the stereotype completely. shes pretty special too, being a pure orange female. Meanwhile, my gray-brown and white tabby is shy but really sweet and chill lol.
We've inherited a pure ginger female. The only problem is that she was 14 this year. She is the absolute proof of the old saying - "dogs have owners, cats have staff."
Just had to put mine down. RIP my sweet Zeppelin, you will never, ever be forgotten. For those of you that don't know, if your male cat is spending a longer time than normal in the litter box; get him to a vet immediately. Kidney stones will claim their life in a manner of just a couple days if you're not paying attention. I love you buddy, I think about you every day, and you will always be one of my best friends.
I'm sorry for your loss. I just went through an issue with my cat she wouldn't eat for 3 or 4 days use the litter box stop cleaning herself. I don't have a car and the only one that would help me was the tweaked neighbor. She went from hitting the pipe to kicking everybody out to take me to the emergency vet. 570$s later my cat is healthy as she can be. I feel blessed. Not all heroes wear capes. The rent money is going to have to wait now though.
Sincere condolences, I lost mine last year around Christmas. Lived to be 18. I blame myself. Should have done more. But there just wasn't enough money. RIP Bada. RIP Zeppelin. Truly the best of friends.

Same here! My ginger cat has bonded with only me. My friend who’s had way more cats than I have has only recently been allowed to pet him. His name is Pumpkin (the cat…not my friend!) and he is not social with any of the other 4 cats in this household. He’s a one person cat and a one cat per household…we’re making it work though…

I can be near him but if he feels I'm too close he will take off. The only way I can clip his nails and brush his fur pet him in general. Is if he happens to go in the bathroom. I have to quickly slip in behind him and close the door before he gets out. Once in a blue moon, I'll wake up and find him sleeping next to my feet. I just stay still and try not to move. Enjoying that moment. My brother says of my three cats he's the one who is most like me. Doesn't like people, prefers not to be acknowledged, I hear people at my door and I run to hide. Hope they go away. He says I adopted myself in cat form. Why would I expect the cat to be any different because I want to hug him that's why🤣

I rescued a 5-week old orange tabby, with his brothers and sisters a few weeks ago. The others hissed and fussed a little, but he never did. When I picked him up, he immediately snuggled into my chest. I have a soft spot for orange tabbies 🧡

The least lazy ones might even hunt rats too. If an orange tabby hunted out the whole ship and kept the crew laughing then they were a prized crew member. They're a literal walking morale boost.
My brother's tabby is anxious and can get territorial, but will become an absolute baby around his owner. If he can't get to my brother, he will look to me or our sister for babying. What's crazy is he isn't even the youngest cat 😅
❤ my grandmother had a light orange cat that lived to be around 21-23 yrs old. What makes this more amazing is the fact that, if i remember correctly, 🤔 he had a heart murmur when he was a lot younger. He got out for a week and almost died out there. We ended up inheriting him when my grandma moved into hospice 😢. I think he lived to be super old to make up for my grandmother passing younger than she should have. That cat was tough af. He did get beat up when we 1st got him by my aunts cats. But he got his get back beating up the fat dumb gay cat first (he used to hump my aunts other male cat. Both were actually fixed. The other cat was just taking it 😂). Then he beat up smokey the cat that beat him up the worst. RIP Snuggles. 😂 that cat was an asshole. Always hissing 😂😂😂

Reminds me of my grandmother's Ginger cat, Pumpkin. He wasn't a fan of other cats though, but he loved us, even me even though I wasn't always nice to him as a child. He always forgave me and he would be curled up on the couch with me whenever I was sick and my grandmother was taking care of me. I will love Pumpkin for the rest of my life!
Orange cats are really forgiving honestly my cat used to be pulled by his tail(which I obviously yelled at the kids whenever they did cause it hurts tgem) but not even five seconds later he would go up to them and cuddle with them
Here in the UK, they are usually called Ginger or Marmalade cats. My sister used to own a very sweet one and he was friends with all the other cats on the street. They would all visit him to chill or play.
Oranges are beautiful but so are the other cat colors and cats by nature are curious which makes us laugh many times or give us the ability to admonish them. We seem to need to express these emotions.
A young female cat, orange with stripes, was dropped off on my quiet street and abandoned by her owner last year on Thanksgiving. I saw her sitting at the end of my driveway, and I said, "Come here kitty!" She came right to me. My nephew's named her Daisy. She lives up to the crazy orange cat reputation for sure! She's also very sweet and loveable. 😺❤
My family and I were adopted by an 18 month old rescue orange female, who stood in front of our 2 large dogs yowling at them, telling them that now she was taking over as boss! Bless her she was such a character and we all loved her dearly. She was terribly missed when she died God bless her for bringing love and laughter to us, and a permanent love of the orange cat.
My orange Tabby Mikey was a pure joy. So thoughtful n loving. Hilarious n sometimes naughty. I loved him so much. I now have a darker Tabby n shes my very best friend. My fur daughter lol
I have two orange tabby fur babies in that 20%: Willa and Luna. They are sisters and about 17 months old. Their antics, including zoomies over me, the furniture, the floor, and the counters are a constant source of amusement and fun for me. I'm so blessed to have been given the opportunity earlier this year to adopt them from some friends who couldn't keep them. I'm very thankful that God created them for me to enjoy and to take care of them.
I lost Dean 8 days 12 hours 9 minutes and 14, 15, 16, 17... seconds ago, but who's counting?!?!? Dean was only 8 and his kidneys just... quit. We were doing everything right. No dry food, filtered water fountains, 99.99% inside and only outside in my fenced yard with him! I just dunno. My sister's husband is an Indian/Native American and they live on the Reservation. There is so much dog fighting with ZERO respect for animal life. Yeah, I know... right? So it was late July and 126°F degrees 🔥 HOT!!!! Some garbage waste of skin dumped 3 kittens in a Reservation dumpster. They were about 3 weeks old and I fostered them to health... and kept them. There were 2 orange Boys, one ultra-loving with long hair AND one kick-a$$ short-haired boy so right there we had Sam & Dean from Supernatural. Then Meg, the Demon cat who's a gorgeous long-haired Tabby that'll explain her rules by drawing out her claws and demonstrating exactly what'll happen if you forget 😊. Without Dean, it's like the shows Supernatural ending where Dean dies all over again but it's real.he was barely 8 years old to die!!!
Please accept my sincere and deepest empathy for your loss of your sweet kitty Dean! In June i suffered the loss of my beautiful little queen girl Goldie, a golden-orange tabby with white paws and vest and the sweetest mew in the world! She was around 15-1/2 and also had kidney failure, only it was chronic. Although over the last year or so she had lost much weight down to only 3 pounds, she stayed mostly active right up to her last hour, eating and drinking water normally. The girl always preferred to be outdoors where she could climb the trees and tall wooden fences of her chosen abodes. She had always preferred dry Fancy Feast to wet cat food, although by her last year I was giving her expensive wet foods including broth. She tolerated a few other cats to some extent, but was very loving to people, had made friends with several neighbors who all fell in love with her, and had chosen to spend most of her life residing at their houses where there were fewer cats than at my house! To know Goldie was to love her. She ruled over many hearts! 🐈🐾💔💖🥲
I got my orange kitten at 13 weeks, it’s been 2 weeks now and he’s still so shy and hides all the time, doesn’t seem to like me or anyone else either. He loves to play but he rarely lets me pet him and doesn’t show affection really… idk what to do
Hey I was thinking; Have you tried stooping down or laying down so you’re not looming over him? Also if he lets you get close to him, let him smell your hand and wait for him to rub his head on your hand or against you, to put his scent on you and then you can pet him. Also try hand feeding him some treats. Put it in your palm and see if he eats it. Also wet a toothbrush and brush him with it. It will feel like you’re another cat grooming him and that helps with bonding. Don’t have the toothbrush soaking wet, but wet the bristles and pass your thumb over them to remove the excess water. Another thing I would recommend is the channel by Jackson Galaxy, he can help with cat behaviours and tips! He is really good with cats. Lastly keep being patient with your adorable cat and he will open up to you and give you more love than you can ever imagine. Good luck friend 🎉🎉😊😊! Keep us updated on your progress 🩵🤍
Give your baby time. Talk in a gentle soft voice and be calm, gentle and consistent with your contact with your kitty. Takes a while to earn their trust but it is so worth it. My rescue took almost 4 months to accept pats and my friend’s foster feral two years to warm up to her. All the Best! The fact that you’re asking these questions shows that you care and love your baby incredibly much. He knows it too, just let him love on you in his own terms.
When I was a child, we had an orange spotted cat named Henry. My brother trained him on how to turn on his record player. HE would leave a record on the turntable, so Henry just had to fick the switch .Why we were in school, he would turn it on ,my grandmother was the only one home. She was convinced we had a ghost. Lol, we didn't tell her the truth for months .We were bad kids. But that was one smart cat.

I've been lucky enough to be a cat mom to 3 ginger tabbies in my lifetime. They were all sweet, friendly boys who never met a stranger.

Oranges are beautiful but so are the other cat colors and cats by nature are curious which makes us laugh many times or give us the ability to admonish them. We seem to need to express these emotions.

A young female cat, orange with stripes, was dropped off on my quiet street and abandoned by her owner last year on Thanksgiving. I saw her sitting at the end of my driveway, and I said, "Come here kitty!" She came right to me. My nephew's named her Daisy. She lives up to the crazy orange cat reputation for sure! She's also very sweet and loveable. 😺❤

My family and I were adopted by an 18 month old rescue orange female, who stood in front of our 2 large dogs yowling at them, telling them that now she was taking over as boss! Bless her she was such a character and we all loved her dearly. She was terribly missed when she died God bless her for bringing love and laughter to us, and a permanent love of the orange cat.

I have two orange tabby fur babies in that 20%: Willa and Luna. They are sisters and about 17 months old. Their antics, including zoomies over me, the furniture, the floor, and the counters are a constant source of amusement and fun for me. I'm so blessed to have been given the opportunity earlier this year to adopt them from some friends who couldn't keep them. I'm very thankful that God created them for me to enjoy and to take care of them.

I lost Dean 8 days 12 hours 9 minutes and 14, 15, 16, 17... seconds ago, but who's counting?!?!?
Dean was only 8 and his kidneys just... quit. We were doing everything right. No dry food, filtered water fountains, 99.99% inside and only outside in my fenced yard with him! I just dunno. My sister's husband is an Indian/Native American and they live on the Reservation. There is so much dog fighting with ZERO respect for animal life. Yeah, I know... right? So it was late July and 126°F degrees 🔥 HOT!!!! Some garbage waste of skin dumped 3 kittens in a Reservation dumpster. They were about 3 weeks old and I fostered them to health... and kept them. There were 2 orange Boys, one ultra-loving with long hair AND one kick-a$$ short-haired boy so right there we had Sam & Dean from Supernatural. Then Meg, the Demon cat who's a gorgeous long-haired Tabby that'll explain her rules by drawing out her claws and demonstrating exactly what'll happen if you forget 😊. Without Dean, it's like the shows Supernatural ending where Dean dies all over again but it's real.he was barely 8 years old to die!!!
Please accept my sincere and deepest empathy for your loss of your sweet kitty Dean! In June i suffered the loss of my beautiful little queen girl Goldie, a golden-orange tabby with white paws and vest and the sweetest mew in the world! She was around 15-1/2 and also had kidney failure, only it was chronic. Although over the last year or so she had lost much weight down to only 3 pounds, she stayed mostly active right up to her last hour, eating and drinking water normally. The girl always preferred to be outdoors where she could climb the trees and tall wooden fences of her chosen abodes. She had always preferred dry Fancy Feast to wet cat food, although by her last year I was giving her expensive wet foods including broth. She tolerated a few other cats to some extent, but was very loving to people, had made friends with several neighbors who all fell in love with her, and had chosen to spend most of her life residing at their houses where there were fewer cats than at my house! To know Goldie was to love her. She ruled over many hearts! 🐈🐾💔💖🥲
I got my orange kitten at 13 weeks, it’s been 2 weeks now and he’s still so shy and hides all the time, doesn’t seem to like me or anyone else either. He loves to play but he rarely lets me pet him and doesn’t show affection really… idk what to do

Hey I was thinking; Have you tried stooping down or laying down so you’re not looming over him? Also if he lets you get close to him, let him smell your hand and wait for him to rub his head on your hand or against you, to put his scent on you and then you can pet him. Also try hand feeding him some treats. Put it in your palm and see if he eats it. Also wet a toothbrush and brush him with it. It will feel like you’re another cat grooming him and that helps with bonding. Don’t have the toothbrush soaking wet, but wet the bristles and pass your thumb over them to remove the excess water. Another thing I would recommend is the channel by Jackson Galaxy, he can help with cat behaviours and tips! He is really good with cats. Give your baby time. Talk in a gentle soft voice and be calm, gentle
and consistent with your contact with your kitty. Takes a while to earn their trust but it is so worth it. My rescue took almost 4 months to accept pats and my friend’s foster feral two years to warm up to her. All the Best! The fact that you’re asking these questions shows that you care and love your baby incredibly much. He knows it too, just let him love on you in his own terms.

When I was a child, we had an orange spotted cat named Henry. My brother trained him on how to turn on his record player. HE would leave a record on the turntable, so Henry just had to fick the switch .Why we were in school, he would turn it on ,my grandmother was the only one home. She was convinced we had a ghost. Lol, we didn't tell her the truth for months .We were bad kids. But that was one smart cat.
