None shall ever compare to Beethoven for me. As a child, I was forced to sit and play for hours upon hours, as my world fell apart around me. His music was the only music I could play that expressed everything that I felt. All the pain, all the sadness, all the anger, all the frustration, all the rage, all the beauty, all the wonder, all the joy...ah, the joy! - Ode to Joy! - every emotion, he covered them all. No other could do this. Not Bach, not Mozart, not any of them. As a child trained in classical music, and unable to play anything else, he was my only escape. I will always be grateful for his incredible music, and his amazing life. There was none other like him. He was a genius. He was the only Beethoven.
You were grateful for being forced? That sounds a bit masochistic to me..
@@ShadovvV What I mean was that I was forced to play and practice music that generally did not inspire me, and so I turned to his music when I could. His music I loved to play. :) But I could not always play it.
I agree.
@@m.e.3614Listening to his music has saved my life more than once.
Indeed ❤

I love how these shortsighted men didn't realize that "stupid childish tune" would become one of the most celebrated musical works of all time.
That was his son. He was put under pressure by Beethoven, but Im not gonna spoil it :)
Whose son he is?
The first time Elvis sang on stage in a bar, the owner told him he was wasting his time and would “never make it as a singer”. 20th Century Fox Studio Executives told George Lucas he had destroyed his career with his ‘stupid little space movie’ when they saw rough cuts of Star Wars.
🤷♂️
I know it is been a while since you wrote this. But that same melody that inspired Beethoven and made Ode to joy so damn famous, can be heard on a Mozart Ofertorium.
Na~na~na~na~na~na~na....
It makes me emotional how even though he lost his hearing he continued to persevere and do what he loved.. No excuses, questions or limits. For that that is why he is still known as a legend. That should be a lesson to all of us to never quit no matter what, even if it doesn't make sense at all it is still possible to not only do it but be the best of the best! :)
Well I think probably because he wrote the most profound music ever created but yeah it's mindboggling he did it and was deaf.b
Man I loved this movie. I fell in love with Oldman’s acting this movie and he’s never disappointed since.
Oldman, a cinematic immortal.
Oldman - he was an artist and what he was, was only trough acting. - Studio executives: He was a difficult man. His fans: I’d heard acting aroused such passion has to be dangerous. - He was a legend, a genius and as scoundrel. But behind his talent, and the madness, - His colleagues: He was too good for Hollywood. His fiver offended their small brains. - lies the mystery behind his immortality,…
Yes.
Gary Oldman is an AMAZING actor!
My favorite film. This is Gary's best acting job of all time.
Watching this trailer give me goosebumps. I love this movie so much. I seen allways touches me when the deceived Beethoven to play alone while they watched in secret. He was playing the moonlight sonata and u could see the pain for the love he lost. What a wonderful movie
My father was a genius listening to classical music. He new the composers name and the title of the song that was played. Back then as a young man I myself did not like this type of music. Until one day when the NBC news was telecast back in the 60's for the Huntley and Brinkley Report I heard this song at the end of this news show and I listen to it every night. Thank God! It was Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Fourth Movement, Abridged. The rest is History (from 976-CREOLEMAN)!
Lol that guy who said "he sings this childish tune"
Said
"Na na na na na na na naa na"
But it actually goes
"Na na na na na na na naa na na naa"
Each of the great composers were genius in their own way. Each had different styles. But where would our music today be without them. Who can believe that the same seven notes can have such a difference in all music. But the great composers then were writing music that had never been thought of before, and to see how far it's come.
As a child when we were learning the recorder in music class (which is obnoxious for many)…most played hot cross buns or jingle bells out of our book. I loved to play the Ode to Joy. ❤ I’ve loved Beethoven since …his music and his mystery.
Some people are simply too brilliant for the rest of the human race...many go mad permanently. Ludwig was one.
He is my favourite composer after Mozart :) so I'm so interested about the films made of him
His 9th is the first heavy metal song in my opinion. A head banger that brings the same emotions as Metallica I LOVE IT
Still can't believe Gary Oldman went from Sid Vicious to Ludwig Van and yet he still does great in both roles (more so this than sid and nancy)
This movie was the shit. I’m sorry. Still one of my favorite romance movies of all time. I’ve come to appreciate the movie more as I grew up & experienced my own heart breaks. We cannot always have our immortal beloved. Heartbreaking yet true 💜
That's why I don't believe in a dumb stories about true love. Two girls who I really liked when I was a student choosed a guy in two week alcohol string dubbing holidays instead of me a sporty but shy guy. So fuck these stories
It's still b_llocks. His "immortal beloved" was not a woman. He was talking about f__king music.
What a masterpiece!!!
To the world Mozart and Beethoven were musicians speaking to us through their music. In reality they were the instruments to whom God spoke his word to us.
Which god?
1:24 That also was my look when I heard him insulting the melody of the ode to joy.
For those engaging on a verbal battle on the matter of how this film compares to "Amadeus" (a film I also like), I have to say that Immortal Beloved never attempted to be like "Amadeus". If anything, it's "Citizen Kane" enclosed on a biopic of Beethoven.
That's a great statement - because of the riddle that carries the story, and about the unusual answer it finds for it. No Beethoven scholar has ever suggested that the Immortal Beloved was Beethoven's sister-in-law and that Carl was actually his son, so this might hit some people unprepared.
But Amadeus has its little secret hidden inside it too - a lot of people tend to watch it as "a movie about Mozart" in the sense that Mozart is allegedly the protagonist, but this is not entirely correct - the lead character is Salieri.
Rock star of his era
Artists turn out to be people fluent in the languages of angels and demons, and gods and monsters. But they are still women and men, so they possess all the frailties of humans, all drives of our species. They are still us. We are animals from birth to death. We are as Shakespeare wrote in Hamlet: "The paragon of animals."
If you want to know her art, or his music, look and and listen. If you want to know the person, you must get to know the animal.
Damn! 😧
I want to quote you david
One of my favorite actor of all times🙏
Easily the greatest and most inspired composers of all time.
Okay okay okay, calm down my friend. Indeed, nothing is tickling my intellect like Beethoven, but without Bach, life would be meaningless. Kind regards
Daniel Jacob you just typed “okay” three times with your thumbs to build intensity. I’m guessing you have high blood pressure
@@tylerthompson1842 Indeed, I had. I don´t agree with your easily :-D, thats why. What you think about Bach?
totally agree. Beethoven is just beyond genius. I mean, listen to some of his late piano sonatas, they are just something else, radical, new, some almost like Jazz.
Such a genius.
@@Tosse901 absolutley, you can here the boogie wooie in one of his late works. I think it was 31. or 32. totally agree. Only the Hammerklaviersonate is such a Masterpiece.
This goes beyond a love story
Way better love story that twilight! 😂
Best movie ,watch ,enjoy and admire to the genius!!!!!!!!!
2 completely different stories. I love them both the same.
que frase que hermoso bethoven cuando dice si en tu corazon solo existe la triztesa y el llanto amargo de la soledad complete ven canta sueña cantando
this trailer itself gave me the chills
1:24 I like it
That pond scene is one of the finest moments in cinema
1:26 I am always waiting for a skyscraper to explode. 😂
1:13 Ode to Joy
I cried a lot ..........
I almost cried.......
Nadie en el mundo volvio a crear algo tan majestuoso
perhaps when Beethoven would have another reencarnation....
This film would be absolutely brilliant if it didn't deviate so extremely from Beethoven's real biography. To me, that's a little too much fiction. It's a shame because I really like Gary Oldman.
con esta peli y la de Leon el profesional me enamoré de gary oldman, el mejor actor lejosss
"Mesmerizing" I love this movie: Immortal Beloved- Trailer 1080 p H D Thanks."
My favourite artist
Years of beethoven's life in this movie :
1799, 1801, 1804, 1808, 1811, 1815, 1818, 1824, 1826, 1827, 1828
1828? Ludwig Van Beethoven died in 1827
0:45 i remember the music from the vinyl era
So humanity has always loved to say currently music is bad, and not good like music from the past. People in their 50s says this about 1980s compared to today's music here in the 2020s, people have said that 1960s music was best, other have said really old music from the 1930s was best, and even people in the 1800s have talked crap about Beethoven's music back then as well. And I bet they said the same thing about music by Mozart back then as well.
Most underrated movie ever
I know right!
Happy 30th anniversary to immortal beloved
This was an amazing film
Gary🥰
Wow what an amazing movie 😮 loved everything about it
Good movie.he's a genius.
Yes, Gary Oldman is.
If you switch the captions on at 1:21
It says dada no no no no nein.
This is like what adolf said when he was punished severely by his father
@Chris Anagn. Which enraged his grandfather, who punished him severely.
Oversimplified, I see
HE WAS WHAT
Dada tho
You have a special talent sir. Use it wisely
Bernard Rose goes from directing Candyman the notorious cult horror film in history to a biopic of composer, Beethoven this film sort of have my curiosity and Gary Oldman’s dialogues don’t sound that much different than when he portrayed as Dracula
💖💖💖🎬📽Magistral!!!💖💖💖
Amazing and deep film on the most impressive artiest ever
0:21 - Ludwig was a little sickie
A favorite movie of mine
i love this tráiler
Best movie. Dang it’s a good one.
Unbelievable film

The original throwing computer meme
Press F for the chair.
yeet
Actoraso Gary oldman
His music was amazing, but to live ones entire life, only to find out at the end..... OMG I cry thinking about it. You need a good cry, down in the dumps and need to feel better about your own problems? This is the movie for you. BUt you won't know the truth until the end, which is also almost the end of his life.
Which symphony was the 2nd?
Seems great !
it is great
Awesome movie about an awesome man. I recommend it. You know anything with Gary Oldman and Jereon Krabbe will be a good movie.
Un génie De la musique sourd c est fou quand même
La 9 sinfonia de bethoven la oda de la alegria parA mi que Dios le dijo tenez que hacer esta obra
Beethoven was the original king of rock
The movie must be amazing but I don't think it surpasses "Amadeus"
Oh no, it can't even compare to Amadeus: the costumes are disaster, so is the writing! The only good thing in this film is Oldman (and the music, of course). Amadeus on the other hand is perfect in everything
I think it is better than "Amadeus".
Being a lover of both......I found them equal. You won't be disappointed!
haha this is DEMOCRACY right here,
so does it surpass amadesus?
lets ask the commentetors
1st oppinion - NO it's no way near
2. - YES it is
3. - Both are good
verdict?= watch both.
my oppnion? they both suck balllls
not the movies, they were great
but the actors look like ball suckers for sure...
💙🎶Oh, but *Immortal Beloved* does surpass ‘Amadeus’, by far. Gary Oldman is the main reason, as it’s possibly his finest performance. & he’s had many in his career. The story is incredible & not easily forgotten.🥀 (& I have seen both films)
The real throwing computer meme 1:37
Where can I watch this film?
Its free on UA-cam just time "imortal beloved" 💯
This would be weird if this was an intro to a film about 2 Live Crew or Vanilla Ice or something
A Genius
Who, Beethoven or Oldman?
😱😨😍😍😍😍😍😍
Sid Vicious is Beethoven
Same guy who played Stansfield in Leon: the Professional where he said " You don't like Beethoven. You don't know what you're missing. Overtures like that get my... juices flowing. So powerful. But after his openings, to be honest, he does tend to get a little fucking boring. That's why I stopped!"
He did this movie right after doing The Professional
This trailer has 33k views but moon light sonata clip has 2million views. ironic
thats because Beethoven actually created Moonlight Sonata and not his own autobiographical film.
I love this movie, but Johanna was not the Immortal Beloved. It was Antonie Brentano. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonie_Brentano
I agree, the connection between Antonie Brentano and Beethoven was completely different to all of the other love affairs he had, especially in that, and evidence suggests that it was not unrequited. - It was said that in her lifetime Antoine had kept a list of all those dear to her who had passed away and by her own death the list was pretty long but the very first entry on that list was Beethoven.
1:00 What Music Of Beethoven is this, if anyone knows Reply please
which one? in 1:21 its Beethoven 9th symphony "ode to joy"
@@hishamonten I know 1:21 is ode to joy but I want to know the short and sweet music at 1:00
a bit late, i'm not sure but it's probably his sixth symphony (pastoral)
@@kareraisu7327 thank you 😊

gatchaverse; A LENGENDARY PIANIST
He was trashing hotel rooms WAY before the Who!
The mystery remains; who was his immortal beloved..?
I think it was his brother's wife? 🐝
What better this version of copping Beethoven
I am watching you
And I am listening you
Copying Beethoven or Immortal Beloved ???
Copying Beethoven goes about his piano life Immortal beloved goes about his love life
I prefer Copying Beethoven :)
Amadeus
Exactly...lol
it's a shame that the EU stole "ode to joy" as its 'national anthem' as i cant listen to beethoven's 9th symphony now without being reminded of the arrogant corrupt tyranny of Brussels
Indeed.
What an ignoble insult on Beethoven. Just disgusting distortion!
Ridiculous! Some of these allegations are absurd. As long as people know this is fiction, then fine.
Hate this trailer.
