I love the horror aspect of Pecharunt's control, but wow, did it pick a hilarious way to show its' control. The chicken dance has never been more terrifying and hysterical at the same time.
This was definitely one of those times where you absolutely had to win, otherwise everyone would be under its control forever

Love everything about this event, especially how Arven and Penny are complete opposites as they dance, Arven seems embarrassed and isn't putting in much effort while Penny has her own rhythm going and is dancing much faster.

Something I noticed is that Kieran's grandfather battles with a Weezing and an Arbok. Such a very nice call back to Jessie and James.
They should have given the Arbok to the grandma, it would have been even better.

I love how Pecharunt's mind control is still far from perfect since Nemona's Goku-like nature is still fighting back.

Yknow what would be a funny thing pokemon players could do in a pokemon convention?, wear purple contact lenses, slowly approach people while screaming mochi and doing the chicken dance, and then pulls out a switch with 2 pokemon ready to battle.

I did take it personally when it got Penny, ngl. To the point that I actually used a master ball on that damn thing even though I didn't have to, and sent it to be alone in box 16. Sure, Penny probably liked it as evidenced by her lack of embarrassment and the like, but it's the principle of the thing. She should be able to consent to such things!

I love how they turned a poison healing berry to a mind controling Pokémon it’s just so ironic
I feel like a False Cure pokemon was the real intention here. It's mochi bring out the deepest and darkest desires of people and "gives" them what they want. It revived the loyal three and enthralled them. It's a dope idea.

The funniest part of this, is that none of the trainers Pokemon are being controlled. Their humans just send them out, yelling about mochi and doing the funky chicken and they just go along with it.
I love brittle world building that gets destroyed the second you look at it too long.

If you use Ogerpon in combat against Pecharaunt, the screen briefly focuses on her as she screams when she goes into battle, implying that Ogerpon knows Peharaunt

@@crosonyconnecter Pecharunt is their leader, it gifted them the chains. It can do more then just possess people, it’s toxins can enhance physical capabilities, which is how it created the loyal 3, while still controlling them. That’s why Pecharunt gets so angry if you use them against it
I'm liking the better Nemona team. Love her having a Kommo-o. And amazing surprise her starter got the secondary type Tera. Meowscrada getting an edge against my Skeledirge.
It was painful for me against the Kommo-o, I was trying to put it to sleep with Darkrai, but it avoided the move twice and defeatwd it twice, I eventually beat her and my team was Croco the Skeledirge, DOOM the Koraidon, Darkrai, Walking Wake, Terapogos, and Alcremie.
She threw a Milotic against me to and I just.

I loved having my shiny Araquanid out bc I mistakenly replaced half my team with the lousy 3... And panicking, terastslising to get rid of the water type, only for her to go Dark Type and let me 1 hit her.

That's how I felt when Kieran had a Gliscor and then later a Grimmsnarl. Just "Heyyyyyyy." @@LokiToxtrocity
What I like about the dance is they hinted at it in the first DLC! One of the npc students you come to Kitagami with starts doing that very dance after you fight Kieran the first time!

I thought of that but then I realized don't both those Pokemon or at the very least koffing spawn on Kitikami? With only so many Pokemon species in the area I feel like it helps reduce a little of the doubt. How to figured maybe he had caught them before and pecharunt just influenced him to put them on his team

This entire event reminds me of Thriller for some reason. I mean everyone is pretty much a zombie and the battle theme has a similar sounding bass line to Thriller as well
If you guys didn’t know the MOCHI theme song is a remixed version of the loyal three theme same is pecharunt since it’s also a remix!

I'm not gonna lie, I have a very hard time actually taking this seriously.
Got to admit though that it's quite hilarious.
Don't think it was ever meant to be serious in any way. Its another Rotom type Pokémon that probably enjoys its pranks.
It's not supposed to be serious. It's like that one filler episode in an anime that is just supposed to be fun and goofy
Considering their teams, it does kinda make sense Nemona beating Kieran. Lycanroc, Kommo-o/Goodra, or even Pawmot can counter with Incineroar, Dragonite, Politoed, Porygon-Z, Grimmsnarl, & Hydrapple with how Nemona has set up their final movesets. And Nemona's will is so OP to fight through Pecharunt's control to still being herself to fight us!!!! And I have to say, Nemona's new improved team is interesting!!!! I figured Lycanroc, Goodra, & Pawmot would remain as they're signature constants with her (of course the Starter remains too). I did think it was a good changing Dudunsparce & Orthworm, as they never felt real in her team. I Really wasn't expecting another Pseudo like Kommo-o though. And Nemona is sorta pulling a Leon, as unlike Leon where one of his pokemon (that's not the starter) is at a type disadvantage to the player's starter (Rhyperior, Seismitoad, & Mr. Rime), Nemona picks one that's stronger than the player's (Milotic, Ribombee, & Dusknoir)
{as well as the addition that Nemona also gains another starter of either Infernape, Decidueye, or Greninja}
- But I am a bit curious which of team fits Nemona best more. In my opinion, I'd say Milotic would be her best synched choice (secondary/back-up would be Ribombee. Dusknoir seems kinda far-off of Nemona's character & personality); in which this also links to her additional partner as Infernape which I can also think matches Nemona well too
Kieran uses his kitakami team against nemona. That’s shown by him using his poliwrath instead of politoed

Throughout the rest of Mochi Mayhem when Kieran tag battles with you, after Poliwrath is defeated, he uses the rest of Disk team (which starts with Porygon-Z). Besides even with Poliwrath added to the bunch, Nemona can still counter with Pawmot or Kommo-o (or Rimbombee or even Meowscarada)
That Milotic scares me. I almost swept through Kitakami and the Terrarium with Leavanny and Galvantula sticky web. Sticky Web vs a Competetive Milotic is… scary. Especially when over half my team is weak to it
@@Commander_Appo I'd say Milotic would probably be Nemona's best paired choice as a constant member to her main team due to its prowess (secondary/back-up would be Ribombee (as I feel like it doesn't pack enough emphasis to be a champion-level fighter; and Dusknoir seems kinda far-off of Nemona's character & personality)
Yep not to mention I one-shot her Lycanroc with a Dusk Lycanroc of my own named Dusky

I would say Arven has resistances to the poison thanks tk the Herba Mystica running through his viens, but then i realised he didn't eat shit during that quest.

but now that you mentioned it, I would expect Arven to be somewhat resistant to the poison too, which I think he did based on his behaviours
Makes me wonder if any of the other berries will be turned into plush/Pokémon hybrids… cuz I wouldn’t mind seeing that!

@@TheDuckQ. Considering Pecharunt 's ability is adding a secondary effect to the poison, I imagine that an Ice equivalent could cut the defense or speed stat when frozen
It would be cool, but since pecharunt is a Momotaro reference, I don't think it will happen, unless there is another traditional Japanese story centered on fruit.

I was waiting for the jumpscare like the one Giratina did in Platinum. Didn't expect the chicken dance, though.
That is a smart tactic of battling, Nintendo Unity. Use Ditto in your first party so you can let it use the Imposter ability and check your opponents’ (eg. Pecharunt you just fought) moves when it transformed into your opponents’ form. 👍🏻
I like how Kieran ends up with pokemon from both of his teams, the original Teal Mask one and the tryhard Indigo Disk one. He's making full circle, proud of him ❤

It took me three hours to beat the DLC and for a bit I've thought I've not yet ended the Indigo Disk. It took a while to figure out that I had to get a mystery gift (I expected a game update as usual but they confused me plus I was fresh off the Indigo Disk completion hashing just seen the credits roll the second time except it was just a looped singed music that became boring pretty quick)

The next night when i was still groggy my brain had created a boss theme for the pokemon.

@@CB_W0lf Honestly, I think part of her *is* into it, based on three key factors - first, her sweet tooth as demonstrated earlier in the epilogue. She outright liked the mochi itself, so that probably made her more inclined, for one thing; the second, Masters. More specifically, she once attempted *self-hypnosis* as a confidence booster. Didn't work, but she wished it did. And the third - even after she had been told what she had been doing, she didn't seem embarrassed at all, if you talk to her before leaving Kitakami she even mentions that her limbs still feel sore from all the dancing, and there are others very much in earshot.
I could elaborate further on my conclusion, but it's... not entirely appropriate.

I wanted to get pecharunt in a dream ball, but i only had one of those so i wanted to save it for a shiny. Ended up using a moon ball because i had 3 of those. Colors dont really match, but it still looks cool.
