I tried this with cashews and it came out a little more sticky than the one you made, but it taste amazing and does have a wonderful cheesy taste. Thank You
I also love how you give the explanation at the end. This looks like a really good cheese to use in a lot of different recipes. I like how you can actually thin it or thicken it for your use. Thank you for showing us a better option than store-bought stuff.
This texture is so perfect for cheese consistencies!!! Way better than the potato, carrot, onion vegan cheese recipe that was popular online. Loved this, can't wait to try more and more flavor and texture combinations. Top start i made a fondue like consistency with spanish flavors, and a medium-firm sliceable Italian flavored cheese. Love it ❤️❤️❤️😊🥳🥳🥳
So glad to see another video from you! I always add a small amount of pine nuts to any vegan cheese sauce I make because of the depth of flavor they add. This does look like a good recipe to use as a template, but the cheese it produces has a variety of uses itself! Thanks for posting!
Interesting vegan recipe. May I suggest using a cloth under the lid when you steam the cheese. This will prevent condensation dripping onto the cheese.
I'm actually 22 thank you very much. I can say a man is adorable if I want to and that doesn't make me a twelve yr old. The only one i see acting as such is you with your comment. Also I don't see how your comment is relevant anyway as i was not speaking to you so Goodbye.

this is a brilliant idea - never thought of using the stretchy glutinous nature of mochi/rice flour to replicate the actual gooey cheese!! you are a genius Ryoya :)
You don’t have to be vegan to eat this things! If that is the case you would only eat animals products and no fruits, veggies, legumes, bread, pasta, tomato salse, and literally 90% of the foods we eat. Vegan just don’t eat animal flesh, extraction, and dairy! SIMPLE!

Couple of questions! One, where did you get the hard mochi from? I've never seen it before! Is it in most major Japanese supermarkets? And two, where did you get the large size bag of pine nuts? I've never seen them here either, and I can't order any nuts or seeds from iherb. I'd love to give this recipe a go since it is almost impossible to get vegan cheese in Japan! Thanks for any help :)
@@peacefulcuisine I went to my local Asian market in my neighborhood in PDX but I could only find sweet rice flour, not the mochi cake (only filled with sweets). Can I make the cake by combining it with water and cooking it down? Or..is there another way?

noella celine Correct me if I'm wrong but as long as I remember the original Italian pizza only has tomatoes, mozarella, and basil as toppings. So, you can make a vegan pizza crust and subtitute the mozarella with vegan cheese and boom!

I usually make my homemade cheez with cashews, as they're more easily available here than mochi or agar. Makes for a spreadable paste texture, works really well as a grilled cheez sandwich filling. I would add lemon juice and nutritional yeast for a cheddar flavor!

You should make a video on how to make mochi. It would be easier for us, poor non japanese people xD
So easy literally add rice flour and water, mocrowave, boom! Mochi. Look up microwaveable mochi
+Gracie C Rice flour... or a special Rice flour? I have a powerful mixer (bimby/turbomix) so I can make flour from rice... can I use this with water?
it's glutinous rice flour, can be found in asian stores
There are packaged mochi sold in stores too

He used Kirland brand pine nuts which is sold from Costco, a big whole sale store from the US.
