Thanks guy, this really helped me make the right decisions about what to buy and convince me I could fix the internal bearings of the spindles instead of buying complete new spindles, which only cost me 1/4 as much.
Bloody hell, you dont mess around do you lol :-)) I use wood/plastic and copper headed hammers, no damage to parts, nice to see your doing the same mate :-)) i do add a smear of oil to bolt shanks so they dont rust into holes, but most of the time the clearance is so big that it cant get stuck :-) Just need whilber to stick his thumbs up or ears lol to say its good lol :-))
Do you have another video that shows how to route this belt and WHERE to connect that spring? I have the same deck with an electric PTO and I am having a nightmare finding the belt routing and the spring relocation! Thanks in advance!
Yup, 1 strike of a rock (big rock) or a stump / pipe on the ground and BAM bearing housing is junk... Good video brother hope you're having a great summer !
BALL BEARING,17mm ID x 40mm OD x 12mm W - Bearing, Ball TR109966 . but says that part number is updated to 86629493 . for spindle housing they have part number TR114568 . not seeing a complete spindle . but all the parts seem available . Should be a model number on tractor or maybe the mower deck , you can google to confirm the part numbers
I tried to do the same with mine and I took apart the Double Pulley Spindle assembly and now do not know where the washer goes? Does it go between the spacer and the lower pully or the spacer and the upper pulley?
I got craftsman tractor spindle got dog leash around it was a cable . I got cable off and took spindle off mower deck seems spin ok . should I just buy whole or easy just change bearing . could that damage bearing ?
+ALLEN LETIZIA If the housing is ok and not broke and the spindle spins free and SMOOTH then it is prob ok . Depending on which style of spindle they can be found on line for 20 to 40 dollars . Most you can also get bearings for for less than $10 a bearing . I guess if it does need something , it depends on which you are most comfortable with putting in bearings or just bolting new one on .
Thank you getting back to me fast just happen . When I unscrew it from deck it did spin smooth . When was on deck hard to turn it after I took cable off it . I did order 2 bearing from sears just to have them 42 bucks later . Thank you for your help ..
If the spindle has bearings with an open side , like some do then the grease gets in . If both sides of bearing is closed like mine took the grease should not get into the bearing if put in to the grease fitting , but I just fill the cavity in between the bearings . Some say that helps seal the spindle from moisture getting in , but i usually just put a little grease on the inside shaft and bushing so nothing rust .
On this one yes . on most of the mtd ones i think are but not sure But some others i have seen has a bigger bottom bearing . If you google your model number you will prob find a place with parts diagram , should be able to tell your bearings that way
Love it. There are a lot of videos on how to do it, but you said in 4 minutes what it takes the other guys 12-18 minutes to say. Thanks!

Thanks very much for the video. Where can I get the spindles for my lawn mower. It's a Ford new Holland LS 45. 48" deck. Please answer.
You would need to find the correct part number , then i look on Amazon and ebay

Not sure on yours , but some have one under the top pulley to keep it from rubbing the housing
I like your version with the power hammer.I will use a hammer and chisel / Flathead Screwdriver to pound out rusted bearing.

Put back to gather runs good ! Saved me putting new bearing in thanks .
Looks straight forward, but I will avoid the rocks.
Rocks let you know the blade is still spinning.
Thanks for sharing..I think I need to do it now for mine..CJ
Thanks
thank you for good video, it helped me on mtd mower.

If there is no grease in the new bearings, you should pack them with grease before installing.
New bearings auto zone?
EXCELLENT video!!!
thank you it was good info i have to do this to mine

I usually broke those bearing housings hotting stumps or rocks... that gets expensive.
So you Canadians mow your rocks and stumps?
Isn't that what you're supposed to do...
Those rocks are not blade sharpeners.
Are the upper and lower bearing the same size?
On this one yes . on most of the mtd ones i think are but not sure But some others i have seen has a bigger bottom bearing . If you google your model number you will prob find a place with parts diagram , should be able to tell your bearings that way

Gotta love air tools.
They are great
Even if brought in old bearing would take 5 peoples minds together to tell you umm we don't know gud luck
nice fix
Thanks good info.
You sorta left out the part where you put the shaft back through the two bearings.
It just slides in
the ones on a husky you change the whole unit. get a cow you dont need gas and get free milk
Yea some break the housing
No mas necesitaba saber como va puesta la correa y fue lo unico que no se vio.
Cool
Thanks
