Chris is my all-time favorite McCartney solo drummer but last night I had the privilege of seeing Gregg Bissonette for the first time as he played with Ringo Starr and his All-Starr band. For me, the highlight of the night was seeing Gregg work the solo from "The End," along with many other classic rock and classic Ringo grooves, into his drum solo during the Edgar Winter song "Frankenstein." I'm not sure how many audience members were aware of what he was doing but he sure did bring a smile to all of us who play the drums and appreciate Ringo's unique grooves.
Gregg Bissonette's drumming for Joe Satriani back in the early 90s was monstrously awesome! So great to see two of my faves jamming to one of my favourite songs! 🤘
Just to add: my dad showed me this drum solo on the Tripping the Live Fantastic album when I was 12 years old and had been drumming for about 3 weeks. He sort of "dared" me to learn it. It was the first thing I tried to learn on the drums.
Many years ago, Gregg did a similar side-by-side video with Denny Seraphine of Chicago, breaking down the classic solo at the end of "Make Me Smile." It would be great if the two of you could break down this solo, showing the sticking (left vs. right hand lead) as you move from low tom to high tom.
Thanks for posting! This is one of those drum parts that you have to nail perfectly when covering "The End." It's not as easy as it seems because Ringo plays as a lefty on a right-handed kit.

So simple, so superb. Ringo never over complicated things.
Thanks so much!
How cool and how wicked they must be to be playing in time so we'll with each other !
How cool is that! Two phenomenal drummers playing a drum part that has linked them together in history via Ringo Starr and The Beatles. Excellent 👍
Thank you 🙏🏻
Hi Chris, I love what you do & your drums style. (Y) Thank you to be here. Friendly ;-)
Thanks so much
MERRY CHRISTMAS CHRIS , you are a gift for the music and me !!

@@MykeLewisMusic Back then I sort of did my own version. This time we wanted to replicate Ringo’s solo note for note.

Brilliant, looks like Greg’s got official Ringo tea towels on his drums!
Thanks....and yes.
