thank you so much for this....still so relevant and useful! cant wait to buy your press on nails! i want to start making them for friends and families. its been such a therapeutic hobby for me!
I appreciate this because I’ve wanted to do this for over a year. I didn’t know where to start. I really am glad there are people like me who don’t mind sharing and helping someone else excel in this field
I use spray paint for my black & white base coats! I LOVE U 4 BEING REAL & BEING SO CANDID! DONT FEEL DIRTY GIRL, REAL RECOGNIZES REAL! I use a water based top coat at times following the spray paint
You are a very generous lady sharing so much knowledge thank you. I am certain your kindness will return to you 10 fold. I have been waiting for quite some time for a helpful video like this. Stay safe & stay well 😊🌻
I'm so glad I stumbled across this video. I've watched several nail videos already and you have given all the tea girl! Your content was amazing, everything was very beginner friendly and useful. Thank you so much for sharing you rock!
What is the best polish to use on clear nails like that so it won't chip should I get expensive polish so it won't checked please let me know thank you so much you're such a great
Lauren Wireman When you board nails, do you board a full 22 nail set and remove the ones you don’t need per order, or are you only boarding the sizes you need? Hope that makes sense.
Not to step on toes here, but complete removal of gel or acrylic enhancements are not necessary to place prioress on nails. In fact, its best to protect natural nail from rips and tears by layering a THIN layer on natural nail first. Key is to not have smoothness or shine. Rough up the gel or acrylic and then glue press on to that.
The spray paint thing isn’t a bad idea, if you have an airbrush for airbrushing nails anyway. Don’t feel dirty about it. I know that there are some companies that actually make airbrush UV gel. I love your idea of lining up the nail tips holders because I’ve been doing them only 3 at a time. As for shellac lamps, the new ones have pop off bottoms which are so great. We used them last year in nail school and I loved it so much I bought one . Thank you for such great information.
Eres la persona más amorosa que he encontrado en este mundo de las uñas! Es agradable encontrar alguien que no tiene miedos ni egocentrismo para compartir la información. MUCHAS GRACIAS!!! Desde Chile te mando saludos 🇨🇱!!
Hoy acabo de hacer mis primeras press on! Me motivaste mucho a aprender y practicar más 💕 me encantaría que las vieras pero no puedo subir fotos aquí ☹️
Awesome video. Such great content. I am retired and I'm looking for something to keep me busy and make a little fun money. I'm not a nail technician just someone that does my own gel nails at home and while watching tutorials about doing your nails at home I came across the press on nail business. I love doing my nails and my only complaint is gel lasts so long and I want to try something new and I have no one to work on. So doing press on nails is perfect. I am a perfectionist so this video helped me a lot, it's not as easy as slapping on some polish and posting it for sale as many probably think, like I did before your video. So thank for teaching me the right way of doing press on nails.
Thank you so much for these nail GEMS! Being that i have 3 kids so i can not reopen my nail salon due to covid. I have been trying to wrap my mind around how to start doing press-ons for my clients, you have given me the insight and courage to go ahead and do them. Again THANK YOU!!! Blessings to YOU! *AnjellicNails
It's now the end of August 2021 and it is as crazy as ever. There's a cat 4 hurricane in New Orleans and the hospitals all over are full of COVID patients.
Thank you for sharing this information. I have been wearing press on nails for some years and everyone has told me I needed to do this as a busy and I was like I don't know. Then, I finally decided to try it and have 3 customers. I'm still learning and do a lot of UA-cam videos. Thank you for doing this for us.
Can you start a press on nail business if your not a nail tech but just really artistic? I’ve been doing my own dip nails for like 2 years so I have a bit of knowledge.
I love your video I learnt so much. I am a beginner and you have taught me so many things that I haven’t heard from other youtubers about press on nails
Hi! Is it a special Top coat that is impervious to acetone? I'd like to take my nails off to re-use and not ruin my art. Thanks so much for all this free info! 🤗
Just wanted to add a side note: The box comes with Two of #4, #5 and #6...I ended up confusing myself because you said you send out only 24, but I don’t think you realized the sprig comes with two #6’s. So I rewatched the video and followed the order you listed when you first showed us the cut out cardboard you use in which you did not add the #6 four times. Hope this helps everyone 😀
This might be a dumb question, but is it necessary to use a gel polish base coat with press-ons? Or can you just skip that and go straight to the gel polish colors?
I love that you touch on all nail tips are made of plastic. I'm getting so annoy when some people market their pressed on as gel and not plastic because gel are just plastic LOL
The questions we get are never-ending, and of course, my desire is to educate, and it doesn't always go well hahaha. I just say plastic now to everyone who asks, I'm over it lol.
I tried the spray paint thing, definitely didn't work. I used matte spray paint because I figured it would make the gel polish adhere better. I ended up having to put a thick layer of base coat on to get the polish to do anything other than peel like tape. When removing the emulsion layer the base had to be thick or spray paint was removed from any small openings in the base coat. I decided to go with acrylic paint when needed instead (for the photography design sample nails)
Thank you sooo much for making this video. The information in it is so valuable and I have pages of notes!! Loved your energy throughout the video too! You’re such an inspiration for me and I’m so excited to start my own press on business now! 😆💜
You're welcome, haha, I felt like a HOT MESS. I swear I woke up that morning and felt like God really put it on my heart to do a LIVE and spit out everything I knew. I guess it was a good idea (haha as usual). I'm so happy it helped you!
I’m binge watching your Chanel - it’s fabulous 💕 but if I could ask a question please? Why do you send out 24 press ones? Surely sending 10 and maybe 2 extra of the common sizes (maybe #4 ’s) is the best option? I didn’t understand why send 24? Thank you so much for your time xx
Hey Michelle, someone's pinkie nail could be a 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, or even a 7. I've seen it all, and their other pinkie is usually the same size, one larger or smaller. JLo wears an 8 on one hand and a 9 on the other, but her ring fingers and index fingers are 7, which doesn't fall into the "common sizes" category. I would guess that the average person is a 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, or 6 (depending on the sizes), and then you have 4 fingers and possibly the middles that all fall into that range in all sorts of combinations. Thumbs are usually 0, 1, 2, or even 3. So if you're trying to make a set for me, and just send 1-10, and maybe an extra 4 and extra 5, I would have a nail for my pinkie on the one hand, but not the other, because I would need 2 of the 8's. For my rings, I would need a 4 and a 5; middle, I would need a 4 and a 5; for my index fingers, I would need a 2 of the 6's. My thumbs are typically size 2; I would need two of those... so if you're customizing for me, it will look like (2) 8's, (2) 6's, (2) 4's, (2) 5's and (2) 2's. 8, 8, 6, 6, 4, 4, 5, 5, 2, 2. If you just did 1-10 with a couple extra in the middle, I'd be missing an 8, a 6, and a 2. So this is why you either need to send 22 or get the person's actual sizes or measurements.
Thank you for being so generous with your info and tips-may all your generosity come back to you! I LOVED the tip on mass painting and what to do with the undersides for reuse to protect from acetone. Your nails in a box look very substantial, which is what I am looking for. I have not been impressed with the nails on “sprigs” that I’ve bought so far. Thank you so much (and thanks for the “bottom” analogy. I needed a laugh today. ) 😂 💅
Thank you so much, such a blessing for you to share all your knowledge for free! I’ve learned so much, and my love for nails just got reignited!!! You are so amazing!!!
I started the whole press on thing like a month ago. I'm really frustrated because I just found you as a supplier. But you definitely made it to my top supplier for my next restock shopping!! ❤ good vibes
Thanks so much Nikole! We have sales here and there too, so be on the look-out on our social media for them :). We like to help y'all out when we have enough stock to do so. I'm also working on getting some shorter styles in stock too! Thanks for your support!
I may have missed it, but if we add an acetone proof top to the underside, wouldnt the entire nail need to be sealed as well to protect from acetone? And most importantly how do you get them off if the client glues them on and the tip is sealed with acetone proof product? Help.
Good questions! Buffing the surface of the nail makes the color hang on a bit longer, because buffing it puts little scratches in the surface, and the gel color can really get down into the little grooves and adhere better. BUT it typically stays on well if you skip the buffing. Why topcoat the inside? The topcoat is usually impervious to acetone unless you scratch it up to allow the acetone to penetrate through it. SO, that means, if you go to soak off the nails, the acetone won't eat the nails away and destroy them. It should just break down the nail glue instead of the whole nail. I hope that makes sense!
Its not gel polish she used, she used top coat. And it would have to be a hard gel, hard gel doesn't soak off. Keep in mind, she mentioned hard gel changes the flexibility of the cuticle area... Bubble Butts and Flat Nails... lol I think she actually grabbed a soak off one, just to show us how to paint, under the nail. Hope you still needed an answer... 😉
Do you recommend putting builder gel on the press ons before designing??? I do add some but idk if it’s necessary because it takes a lot longer doing it that way!!
Hey sorry I missed this! No, I think unless someone has a super-short nail bed, they should be strong enough on their own. If you're doing crazy length, then yes.
First of all, THANK YOU! This video was very informative and helpful and I am excited to start working on on my sets ASAP! I look forward to more videos from you 🖤
This is such a helpful video! Thank you so much! Im a stay at home mom and trying to make money to help my boyfriend and myself and i been seeing press ons become so popular and i love doing my own nails🥺🙏🏻🙏🏻 if any extra tips would be so amazing! Thank you for such a great video!!🥰
Awesome vid. Very helpful!!! Thank you. Would you have any tips if the natural cuticle shape is a different shape to the fake nail cuticle shape? With the situation that the customer is international and you are selling online? So to do face to face measurements would be impossible? Or would you just leave the cuticle shape as what it is standard and advise customer of this?
So glad my friend from UA-cam @nailsofnorway sent me this link. I see my teen girls having tasks to do. They can definitely buff nails and attach to form boards.
I can’t seem to find an answer... has anyone experienced distributing these to clients who need to file the nails a bit for a more customized fit, those who are in between sizes? Wondering how the design holds up with filing and if needing to add a disclaimer to clients about ‘design not guaranteed if altered by client.’ Obviously I could test and try this out myself, but wanted to ask first. Ty for a great video!
Really depends on your method or style. If you're using glitter, or crystals, things that could peel or chip you're not going to be able to trim or file as smoothly as a polish or whatever. Hope this helps.
Hey Brittany, I was scrolling through the comments and was hoping to see a question like this as I have one similar about the customers nail cuticle shape. I know a lot of the tips have a rounded base with slightly squared corners. And just dawned on me some people have full rounded cuticle nail shapes. How would one disclaim that?
Thank you so much for your video ❤️ I’m from South Africa and I only know of one other person who offers press on’s in the country and so I thought it would be a good alternative to keep safe in this pandemic. Was such a helpful video as it is really not a “thing” here yet so want to take advantage of this opportunity. Only thing that sucks is that we can’t get all the great products like the uk and us gets without having to pay a fortune so going to try my best to make do with what we have here! I do have one question, I have full tips that are basically the same product as the Kiara Sky Jelly tips, would that work? I mean will glue stick them to the nail? Thanks again!!!🌸
Hey might be a silly questionI was watching a video where someone made a glass press on set. They used gel builder..is this necessary or can we use a base coat?
Thank you so much for this! I was wondering what sizes are being used when boxing for an unknown size/client. You mentioned packaging 22 nails total, what sizes are they supposed to be?
Hi ! I might be a little late , but i read somewhere that you should sell one of each size u have (e.g. if u have 10 sizes put 2 for both hands ) . And for the extra ones , you should put extras of the size 4 and 5 because it’s the most common size .Hope this helped !

Lauren I have to tell you something...
how does client remove these without damaging? assuming i applied top coat on the inside of the nail.
would client be able to use peel base?
Just wanted to add a side note: The box comes with Two of #4, #5 and #6...I ended up confusing myself because you said you send out only 24, but I don’t think you realized the sprig comes with two #6’s. Okay so I’m here for this part, but this is a little confusing lol. What numbers do you use when boxing for unknown sizes? She said 22 nails total.
Extra 4 5 6 nails 💅🏽
This might be a dumb question, but is it necessary to use a gel polish base coat with press-ons? Or can you just skip that and go straight to the gel polish colors?

I think they market it as gel because some have a little gel in it especially if they add color.
I love the polish you're using! If you mentioned it already I apologize but is that your glass polish? Which shade, Teal?
So glad I came across this video. Soooo helpful, thank you so much for sharing with all of us 💖

I may have missed it, but if we add an acetone proof top to the underside, wouldnt the entire nail need to be sealed as well to protect from acetone? And most importantly how do you get them off if the client glues them on and the tip is sealed with acetone proof product? Help.
Wow.... thanks so much for such an informative video. When are you restocking on glue?
I don't get it...so instead of sizing them make a set of 22 nailz?
Excellent! I so appreciate this video.
Why does adding topcoat inside make them reusable? What’s the different between with and without?
Good questions! Buffing the surface of the nail makes the color hang on a bit longer, because buffing it puts little scratches in the surface, and the gel color can really get down into the little grooves and adhere better. Lauren Wireman thank you so much! This video was so informative. Just found your channel and I love you videos! ❤️
Loved this videos and thought it was very helpful! Quick question tho; how does putting gel polish on the underside of the nail make them reusable?
I *think* it must be a builder gel top coat so acetone won't soak it off
Emily H how do you get them off???

Its not gel polish she used, she used top coat. And it would have to be a hard gel, hard gel doesn't soak off.
Keep in mind, she mentioned hard gel changes the flexibility of the cuticle area... Bubble Butts and Flat Nails... lol
I think she actually grabbed a soak off one, just to show us how to paint, under the nail.
Hope you still needed an answer... 😉
Thank you so much for this video!! I was wondering, what’s the best way to remove the tip size behind the nail?

Hi silly question! When sending out your costumers press on, do you provide glue for them? Or just send out the the press on by themself
Do you recommend putting builder gel on the press ons before designing??? I do add some but idk if it’s necessary because it takes a lot longer doing it that way!!
Hey sorry I missed this! No, I think unless someone has a super-short nail bed, they should be strong enough on their own. If you're doing crazy length, then yes.

i love the nail board idea!!!
So if you want them to last 3 weeks put on a gel top coat on natural nail before gluing them on ?
Yes, prep your nails well, apply a gel base coat, cure. Then apply a gel topcoat, and cure. Then glue the nails onto that. :)

Only if you want to use acetone to remove and reuse. Also it’s a great way to remove the size number for clear or jelly nails :)

I have a very dumb doubt, do i need a license if i sell via Social media or Shopify ?PLEASE HELP ME.
Awesome vid. Very helpful!!! Thank you.
Would you have any tips if the natural cuticle shape is a different shape to the fake nail cuticle shape? With the situation that the customer is international and you are selling online? So to do face to face measurements would be impossible? Or would you just leave the cuticle shape as what it is standard and advise customer of this?
do you still sell the clear nails tips?
thankyou so much! i’m starting my own business and i really needed this
This was so great and full of information I needed to hear. Thank you for being transparent and sharing!
Thank you for your video! This has helped me so much ❤️ I can’t wait to get started ✨
So glad my friend from UA-cam @nailsofnorway sent me this link.
I see my teen girls having tasks to do. They can definitely buff nails and attach to form boards.
Can you do this if you’re not a nail tech?
AMAZED
Is an LLC necessary to get step 1 completed?
Thanks for the video it was realy helpful. I am from South Africa hope soon we get the product's here.
Just traveling here from the future to let you know “this thing” has lasted way more than two months.
Great minds think alike I literally was walking around Walmart last night and stumbled across the small command hooks to do press ons
YES! They work really well, and are easy to repair with a bead of acrylic :D
Great video thank you so very much
I can’t seem to find an answer... has anyone experienced distributing these to clients who need to file the nails a bit for a more customized fit, those who are in between sizes?
HAHAHAHAHA love the intro, thank you for sharing your knowledge 🥰
You are so welcome
Thank you so much for all of this info it is SO helpful!! I can’t wait to start offering this to my clients!
Great information 👍🏾👍🏾
Can you please tell me about the common size of pressons?
Great video. Thank you. ❤️
I think builder gel is best. I sell press ons also.
Would you use builder gel to encapsulate only or on all of them?
Thank you so much for this! I was wondering what sizes are being used when boxing for an unknown size/client. You mentioned packaging 22 nails total, what sizes are they supposed to be?
I watched for pricing and this reason too
Hi ! I might be a little late , but i read somewhere that you should sell one of each size u have (e.g. if u have 10 sizes put 2 for both hands ) . And for the extra ones , you should put extras of the size 4 and 5 because it’s the most common size .Hope this helped !
