@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie yess! I'm from Bali Indonesia! I'm so happy to find your video today. give an inspiration and motivation :') business has been closed these couple weeks due to corona, still looking for the best way to earn some money again. Hope this will do!
Corona is awful isn't it. I know hundreds of people making money now by selling custom press on nails so I'm sure you will be able to join in as well! Best of luck to you ❤️ stay safe.
Thanks a million! Most of my right fingernails are a whole size bigger than my left. Something to consider. I so appreciate these videos! I am out of work here in California due to covid19 so I am going to try this!
Thank u so much! U so kind! And I have a question... what u mean with square and coffin? The type of the nail like stiletto? Or what exactly hahahaha I'm confused. And another one, if the same costumer make another buy, I send again all the papers? (Maybe I say something wrong I'm not a native😅)
Hiya, yep. Square and coffin are just other shapes of tips you can get. Once your customer buys one set of nails, you don't need to send the sizing information again. Use your judgement to decide which information they will need on a second purchase. Xo
Thanks for the tips. Do you file off the numbers before sending the custom set? I want to send out an encapsulated set, but the file marks are unsightly.
Thank you for the informative video! If you were to add acrylic or builder gel to the tip, would that affect sizing because the tip would be more rigid? (Less flexible)
Hiya. Yes. Adding gel or acrylic can cause problems. Not only changing the size but the ability for the tip to fit the shape of the natural nail in some cases. I avoid it.
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie thank you for your reply! Seems I need to switch my tips, as I used a thumb one for a day and it split down in the middle. Thank you 🙏
I prefer the natural colored ones because they're easier to cover evenly. There are so many brands now since you posted this comment. But I still love makaartt, even if I never remember how to spell it. Sorry for the delay in responding!
Hiya, if you go up, they can always file it slightly to make it fit. If you stay at 1, they can't make it any bigger. I do find the size of the nail shrinks a tiny bit with the application of gel polish so I always air on the bigger size.
I noticed you didn’t include the half sizes in your sizing charts.... did u just size up or down? I’m confused by that because some of mine are half sizes as well
I got the boxes from the bag and box man online. They're just necklace boxes. The nails I got off ebay, and I painted them. The glue strip to hold the nails in the box is 3M mounting tape.
Hi, I was just curious where you got your tape measure from, mine had the little gold piece at the end making it a little harder for me to measure my tips
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie oh thank you so much. Also where did you get your jewellery box from (the containers for you nail packaging) . Because I tried to find some on amazon but it just shows me actually fancy jewellery boxes❤️
What if the clients nail was smaller than the smallest nail size you carry? Would you just send them the nail file so they can file the cuticle area of the smallest size?
Great video! Quick question, if a customer is sending you individual sizes for each nail, why even offer grouped sizing XS, S, M, L? Wouldn't it be just as easy to just have them send you their nail size and you just pull them from your supply? You're obviously experienced so I'm sure you have good reason :) Appreciate your help and this video!
Hiya 😊 it's mildly easier to have sets of a certain size separated and ready. Not that much easier tho. it's handy if you want to create sets and sell them as already complete. Then you can just list them and people will most often fall into a size category and pick the nails they want. When you're doing custom designs where you're talking to the customer anyways discussing custom made designs it doesn't really make a difference. But sometimes it's nice to not have to message back and forth. 🤣
I'm watching this 3 years later, and I'm eternally grateful for this in-depth tutorial. ❤
Hi! I'm so glad you found it helpful ☺️ thanks for dropping in the comments xx

Wow that's interesting! I do get my customers to measure both hands, I guess that's something I should have brought up 🙈 thank you 😊
I love this video so much. You’re such a good teacher

Thank u 😍 beautiful....I really needed help in this area
It's my pleasure 😌
Your tips are super helpful
I'm glad you find them helpful :) thanks for dropping a comment! Xo
Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m in the beginning stages as this helps a lot. Much blessings.
This was actually helpful. A lot of other videos just like to show how they package them. Or they talk too much
New subscriber, what a detailed video soo much thought has gone into this needed something like this 👍👍
Just what I was looking for! Thank you!!
I so glad I came across your video
What is the fluffy packing stuff you put over the nails when packaging them? Thanks for your help, you are amazing!
Hiya, that's just the insert that came with the boxes ☺️ glad to help! Xo
So much much information Thankyou so much for sharing xx
That's ok thanks for watching!
Love this! thank you :)

Usually not. But sometimes I need to make them shorter anyways so they get removed.
So helpful ! Where do you buy your tips?
Oh good! I'm glad it helped. I usually buy them from eBay or Ali express. I'm not very fussy so I just get whatever 🤷
Great video! So helpful😊 I was wonderung what brand you use as fullcover tips🤔🙈 are those plastic tips or gelly tips?🥰
Thank you ! I use whatever I can get for cheap. If I had to pick a brand it would be makarrt I guess. They're just plastic. Xo
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie okay thank you ^^

Hey, great video thank you. In the UK do you know if any additional insurance is needed on top of normal home nail tech insurance?
Thanks ☺️. I'm not able to advise on the legalities of requiring insurance, it's a pretty grey area and I don't fully understand it myself 🤣
Are you sizing with centimeters or inches I cannot find mm tape measure ❤️
I size with cm but you can use whatever you have available 😄
Great video, can I please ask what tips you have in this box that you’re measuring. X ❤️
Thank you. Unfortunately I bought them many years ago so I have no idea where they are from. Sorry.
Is spacing between the nail bed and the press on normal? The edges lay flat for me but I have a flatter nail bed so their is spacing in the middle
No, you need to choose a bigger size and file around the edges to make it smaller. The bigger sizes are flatter. Xo

Where do you get your tips from Courtney? Love them square ones
I've bought so many from different places over the years I couldn't say for sure ! Usually Ali express or eBay 😊 sorry, not very helpful I know 🙈
Brilliant, thanks again!!!
My pleasure!
Hi how do you decide which colour nails to buy? Also what is the best brands in the uk if you want to sell them?
I prefer the natural colored ones because they're easier to cover evenly. There are so many brands now since you posted this comment. But I still love makaartt, even if I never remember how to spell it. Sorry for the delay in responding!
Hi.. just a quick question. So if their nail measure is 1.3. Should I go up one number bigger or stay at 1?
Hiya, if you go up, they can always file it slightly to make it fit. If you stay at 1, they can't make it any bigger. I do find the size of the nail shrinks a tiny bit with the application of gel polish so I always air on the bigger size.
Hi, quick question about shipping. How did you weigh your nails once they are in their package?
you can weigh them on a kitchen scale. :)
Excellent video x
Thanks Tina ❤️
I noticed you didn’t include the half sizes in your sizing charts.... did u just size up or down? I’m confused by that because some of mine are half sizes as well
I did include half sizes. Both tips size 3 and 5 are halfs.
Very useful to.. Thanks xx
where did you get the box of nails?
I got the boxes from the bag and box man online. They're just necklace boxes. The nails I got off ebay, and I painted them. The glue strip to hold the nails in the box is 3M mounting tape.
Hi, I was just curious where you got your tape measure from, mine had the little gold piece at the end making it a little harder for me to measure my tips
I also had a little gold but at the end. I removed it cause it was getting in my way 😆
I would also suggest you could start at 2 cm and do the math that's what I do when my ruler or tape measure doesn't work from the end
Do you have to count the big line that you line it up with or just the lines in between?
You count from the first line. The first line is 0, the second line is 1, the third line is 2 and so on.
Nails with Courtney Crosbie thank you😊!
OMG!!! Thank you so much!!!!
That's ok! Glad to help 😊
Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you for this video❤️. Why do u need the measurements of the length of the nail aswell as the width?
Some people have longer nail beds than others. So if they wanted a certain length ( say... 5mm longer than their own nails) you could do that
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie oh thank you so much. Also where did you get your jewellery box from (the containers for you nail packaging) . Because I tried to find some on amazon but it just shows me actually fancy jewellery boxes❤️

Hiya, you need to create your own 😊
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie That's what i thought. But thank you for sharing a teaching this has help me.
this is so confusing to learn but im determined to
It is a lot to take in. Don't over think it though.
Question you said we could make 20 and let them pick whatever fits them. What sizes should we make a 10 large and 10 medium ? 1
Hiya, no. I mean, provide 2 each of every size. So 20 nails in total. They can pick from those 20 nails which ones fit best. Xo
hi I went to your fb and searched for your group and filled in the questions that is asked but I'm still not accepted why is that?
Hi, because I have to manually accept you into the group and I don't monitor it 24/7.
What if the clients nail was smaller than the smallest nail size you carry? Would you just send them the nail file so they can file the cuticle area of the smallest size?
I would just file it to the size they need. My smallest is 8 mm. Only once have I had to file it smaller.
From where i buy this tips??
Ebay or Ali express xo
Hi Do you need to go through any government processes
Sorry, I really can't advise on that. I'm registered as self employed and a licenced nail technician.
What if your making them pre made for clients
Do you mean what if you're making pre made sizes for people to pick from? Like small, medium and large?
What kind of nails are you using?
They're just no name brand full cover press on nail tips. Xo

Hi am new here
welcome :)
Hi do you sell the template?
Hiya, sorry no I don't.
It’s so frustrating that the tip companies don’t measure the inside already..
I keep getting different sizes each time I do it 😂🤦🏾♀️the brand claims it’s 13 mm wide but I got 16,15,18 anyone can tell me what I’m doing wrong
brands measure across, not touching the interior surface. Your measurements are the correct ones to use for clients.
Exactly the information I needed! Thank you!
Great! I'm glad to help 😊
