Actually most hibrids are men, Katana, Sword, Spear, Chainsaw and Flamethrower if I recall correctly, only Bomb, Crossbow and Wipe were women, also neither Katana nor Bomb chosed their bodies, and Denji was chosen based on Pochita's love for Denji, so I think it just goes down to what heart a random organization uses or if you are friend of a weapon demon and die. The Four Hoursmen being all woman seems to be the most likely scenario, I through that Makima was a woman due to the whole inspiration on manipulative mothers/women to be the control devil, but by that metric War should have been a man since they are the ones to start/fight them for the most part, and Famine should have been a child/elder since they usually are the ones that die earlier when famine is present.
I like the correlation of apples with Falling devil since Falling is also Gravity, it probably references Newton and his discovery of gravity via the "Falling Apple". I also read somewhere that the Kanji for "thief" also relates to gravity or gravitation. Again, loving how falling can be interpreted in so many ways I like unhinged Dennis when he has no remorse or guilt and fights with his twisted logic without any hesitation. That's my protagonist!!! No break Fujimoto go crazy!!!!!
* 16:34 - Yes! Falling Devil is inspired by The Menu. When the chapter came it was being discussed that "The Menu" was Fujimoto's favourite film from last year. * Crambon. "Crambon" is a word that appeared in an old children's story by Kenji Miyazawa(1923), but the meaning of the word is not specified in the story, and the author died before he could explain it. The word has become a topic of discussion in Japanese elementary schools, but it is known as a question that has no answer. Surely it's not a coincidence that both Crambon are at the bottom of the river. www.reddit.com/r/ChainsawMan/comments/11r9pzx/about_a_name_in_latest_chapter/ There are also two good theories/posts made recently. * One which talks about the Motif of Cats and Dogs in Chainsaw Man -www.reddit.com/r/ChainsawMan/comments/yeqgnm/the_motif_of_cats_in_chainsaw_man/ * The Falling Devil is the First Trumpet of Revelation, and six more are coming. It not Height devil but rather Falling devil which is much more interesting concept than just tame & one-dimensional "suicide" or "height" devil. The power is more akin to gravity which makes sense Falling is a pretty common fear not just as in literally "falling down" but encapsulating concepts such as fall of humanity, being emotionally worn out, failure in life, depression or even suicide Think about the Darkness devil, the first primal devil we encountered in the story. Sure in hindsight, it was just the fear of darkness, plain & simple, right? but it encapsulated other similar fears such as fear of unknown or fear of space or void so it's not farfetched to assume that Falling could be represented in various different ways too
It kind of make sense for fall devil to be a primal fear cuz not all of us is afraid of tall place but all of us is afraid of falling and falling is not only about the heights
The Devil is the 落下 (Rakka, lit. "Drop/Fall") Devil. The 落 Kanji is also used to in the words for defeat, rejection, failure, and depression.
to add to that
falling = 落下(rakka)=落ちる(ochiru)
go to hell =地獄に落ちる(jigoku ni ochiru)
negative feeling = 気分が落ちる,落ち込む(kibun ga ochiru,ochikomu)

Fujimoto be like, what if my new devil is JUST a bunch of limbs and a torso...AND AlSO A HOT CHEF!
“I like that woman. I don’t want to be disappointed.”
Oh dear.
Fujimoto's writing style seems to be that he confirms or denies a theory directly at the beginning just so he can tell his story.
