The algorithm brought me here and I'm very glad it did. This channel covers exactly the stuff I like for precisely the reasons I like it. Amazing writing and delivery as well. I hope you get 100k subs.
Ah, that's very kind of you to say, thank you! I'm delighted you're enjoying the content and I'll endeavour to keep my standards up. Much more coming very soon, but for now, thanks for watching and welcome to the channel!
This video is a good reminder I should revisit Gravel as I don't even remember why I've stopped playing it when I did genuinely enjoyed it.
Absolutely! When I was thinking of games to include in this video, I went back to Gravel for the first time in about two years to see how it had aged, and suddenly I wanted to play through it all again. Great fun. Thank you for watching!
Gravel was and still is superb. Unofficial Sega rally sequel
@@murphyebass7837 Oh, absolutely.
Yea gravel root root
Gravel was SURPRINGLY good.
I saw surprisingly because it has no buzz or hype, or advertisement.
Found it by deep diving into digital the store.
Grid Legends deserves a place on this list. Although it doesn't have the vibe of Race Driver: Grid, the racing and driving model is the best the series has ever been.
That nearly made the cut, actually. I really like the handling model as well, nice and 'chunky', especially as you're hammering through the street circuits in particular.
Is Grid Legends arcade racing though? I know I own Grid Autosport, and it's great, but definitely not arcade style.
@@0utrunner237 Grid Legends is a simcade, which I would say leans more on the arcade side. Gravel is also a simcade which made the list. Gravel is a bit more arcade, but not much more.
Autosport is the most sim like game in the Grid series.
No way , grid 1 2 and auto are much better in my view
Also Hotshot Racing, Horizon Chase 2, Slipstream, Art of Rally
Slipstream es uno de los mejores arcades disponible para todas las plataformas, programado por una sola persona con la clásica técnica super scaler!
@@TheRayLeon I know, I own it in Steam
How did I not know about Gravel?!! I can see where Dirt 5 got its inspiration from! Thank you so much for the recommendation. Another great arcade racing game to mention is Sega Rally Revo. It’s abandonware, so completely free and runs on anything.
Thanks for the content, it’s great. 👍
My pleasure! And good shout with Sega Rally Revo, that's a lot of fun.
thanks for the tip. original sega revo only worked old windows. will try again. i actually bought revo to try on 360 emulator. not yet tried
Yo, I watch a lot of reviewers and I've not found one as clear and direct as you. This was fun to watch and provided me a bunch of racing games I've been trying to find for more than 5 years now. Every time I search racing games on UA-cam it was just the usual NFS and Forza all open world nonsense. Thank you.
I'm delighted to hear that, thank you. A big part of the reason I set up this channel is to help people find the games that get buried under the usual EA/Activision marketing. Enjoy the games, and thanks for watching!
I know it released on 2012 but Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed is a great alternative to Mario Kart and it certain ways it's better but that game is fantastic and it's still playable on PC and iirc, it's super cheap whenever there's a Steam Sale, it has a lot of great value for the single player campaign alone, it's fantastic and it still looks amazing after 12 years. Also, recently, Aero GPX released under a early access but it's awesome and it shows a lot of promise. If you love F-Zero X or F-Zero GX, it's a worthy spiritual successor with a flying mechanic added.
I’ve installed Sonic & All Star Racing Transformed yesterday on my Series X via Backwards Compatibility. It’s a blast of a Game.
@@TravelingBob Yeah, I've it also on my Series X, I've it also on WiiU, PC and PSVita, that talks a lot about how much I love this game
CTR nitro fueled is the best adult cart racer, high skill level which completely changes the nature of the tracks
I'm so glad to see someone mention Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, I was beginning to think I was the only one who ever played it! Looks great, brilliant courses, loads of fun. I was so disappointed when they released Sonic Team Racing as the 'sequel' of sorts.
Great shout. Here's hoping for a proper follow-up one day!
@@Video_Games_Forever Yep, that game is fantastic, TSR isn't a bad game per se but it's worse than Transformed not only because Sumo Digital decided to ditch the transformed part of the previous game but it also feels slower and the new items are a downgrade imo as they feel that they belong more in Mario Kart than even the ones that they put on Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing which was their first attempt, but we can agree on one thing, the music in TSR is amazing. Still, Transformed is the better game overall as the Transformed part also applies to the layouts and not only the vehicles. The music is also excellent.
Nice collection, added all that I dont already have to my Steam wish list. I had not heard of Gravel, it looks great, will be sure to pickup!.
Thank you. Gravel's great fun - good choice to go portable with. Thanks for watching!
Great list, I would add some honorable mentions: Hotshots Racing, Horizon Chase, Mini motor racing and Redout 2
Thank you! I covered Hot Shot Racing and Redout II in a previous video for five underrated arcade games - they're both excellent fun. I almost included Horizon Chase 2 in this video, and I'll definitely check out Mini Motor Racing, so thanks again!
Hot shots racing is ace
Horizon Chase on Vita is great
@@Video_Games_Forever sweet, mini motor racing is a fun grinder, has the DNA of RC Pro AM
Love that you included Gravel and Flatout 4! Gravel was really fun but I wish it had more content. Flatout 4 is definitely a budget title but also very entertaining and a great throwback to the PS2 era of racers. Not every racing game needs to be a massive, open world: sometimes (usually) the best is a bunch of handcrafted tracks and a solid roster of cars to drive.
Also, highly recommend Grip, Gas Guzzlers Xtreme and the recently released games Trailout (Flatout alum) and ExoCross
Thank you, I appreciate it. Gravel and FlatOut 4 have really strong arcade DNA. They might not be the most expansive games but they're a lot of fun and cost next to nothing. I'll definitely be checking out your recommendations as well, so thank you!
"Hotshot racing" is the best after "Ridge racer" series for me
I love Hot Shot Racing - I covered that in a previous video for five underrated arcade racers. And Ridge Racer is a stone cold classic, of course. Thanks for watching!
It's a good game. I just wish they didn't exaggerate the super low poly style (it makes everything look deformed, especially the drivers) and had a less frustrating rubberband AI.
Absolutely Fantastic list of games that are not all that known. Really impressed, so I subscribed 😊
@@capuman Thank you very much, I appreciate it. And welcome to the channel!
@@Video_Games_Forever@Video_Games_Forever you should have chapters so people can skip through the games rather than quit the videos. Each game was way too lengthy for me. Not focused and edited. Rambling. But I would have watched a lot more if there were chapters
@@arostwocents I do have chapters and plenty of people who disagree with you. But thanks anyway.
The YT algorithm recommended me your video - very good, really well presented! Some great recommendations in your list too. I feel like arcade racing games have taken a back seat over recent years so seeing a lits like this refreshing.
I'll be sure to check out some of your other videos!
Thank you very much, I appreciate it. I love highlighting the hidden gems, and I hope you find plenty of new games you like. You're very welcome to the channel!
@@Video_Games_Forever Keep em coming and I'll become a repeat watcher! Subbed!
Great video! Gravel on ps5 runs at 60fps if you turn off HDR in system settings 👍🏻
Ah, I didn't know that. Definitely giving that a go, thank you!
@@Video_Games_Forever It ran at 4K 60, with HDR, on One X and Series X the whole time I had it.
Might have been a patch later that did that, I didn't get it launch, but ever since I did get it 4K 60 and the game is awesome. I love how dumb and gimpy EVERY ACTOR looks whenever they do live action cut scenes in racing games. The weird TV show framing is cheesy, but it's not as comedically-gimpy as a Need for Speed with humans in.
Great job on this list. Some games I've never heard of (Table Top Racing), some I completely forgot existed (FlatOut 4), and some that I passed on that maybe I shouldn't have (Gravel). The fantastic news is that the great majority of these are very affordable and you could probably buy this whole list for the price of a brand new game!
Also, the narration was great, audio was good, well selected clips that make me want to play the games, and well written script. Great video! Subbed!
Ah, thank you very much, I appreciate it. And you're right - if you keep your eye out in the sales, you could easily buy the whole list for under the price of a new game.
Thanks again - and welcome to the channel!
Just subscribed, will be aquiring some of these racers.
Just popping off to watch some more of your videos.
Just found this channel and straight away you have a new subscriber. Added quite a few of these to my wishlist on Switch and PS5. Keep up the great work.
Hello! I'm delighted to hear that, thank you. You're very welcome at the channel!
1st time seeing any of your videos, but I am sub'ing. So refreshing to see a video, that actually delivers on it's title! This is a great list, of mostly 'new-to-me' games, that I am excited to dig in to. Again, refreshing to see a video that is what it says it is. Thank you!
Hi! Ah, thank you. I'm absolutely delighted that I've been able to introduce you to a few hidden gems. Plenty more coming soon.. Enjoy the games, and welcome to the channel!
The world needs more fun, not more sterile simulation! Amen to that. I love Gravel myself. Great list, great video. Thanks a lot
Thank you very much, I appreciate it. Much more to come soon, and you're very welcome at the channel!
Great video. I have only played one of these, and at least five of the others you highlighted look very interesting. Thanks for the reviews!
My pleasure. Cheers Bob!
Inertial Drift is an amazing cell shaded drift racer with a unique control scheme and a dope soundtrack.
Great video, discovered some new ones to try out so thanks! 🙂
One i greatly recommend is Rush Rally 3, on a gamepad is fantastic. It's not very long ( completed it in about 20h ) but it's tons of fun.😉
Delighted to hear it, thank you. And cheers for the recommendation, I'll check out Rush Rally 3.
I love arcade racers! Thanks for the recs. I'm also seeing a lot of good tips in the comments, so I'll add one: Old School Rally (on steam). It's in the style of the original PS1 Colin McRae or Saturn version of Sega Rally Championship. It's still a bit early, so maybe wait a bit before jumping in. It's certainly promising so far.
My pleasure! And it's great to see so many other great recommendations coming in from everyone. Old School Rally is another great shout. Enjoy the games!
Rush Rally Origins and Circuit Superstars are also very much worth mentioning.
I totally agree! I covered Circuit Superstars in a previous video - love that game.
Man this video makes me think of penny racers on N64. Such a great arcade racer
Ah, yeah! Takes me back. Great game.
New Star GP is Awesome.
Yeah, I've loved it. Feels so great to play on the track and I was really surprised how much content there is.
Wow so many interesting titles I've never heard of before! Definitely picking some up
Many of them should cost you next to nothing as well, I'm pleased to say. Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
I very much enjoyed your perspective on these varied arcade racing games! Looking forward to seeing more from your channel. A big like & a sincere sub from me my friend!
I really appreciate it, thank you! Lots more to come very soon. Welcome to the channel!
cant agree more with your last statement, we need more arcade racers not sims, the only issue I have with a lot of these games featured is that most don't have bots when playing online with friends, I liked Flatout 4 but myself and two friends doesn't make a exciting race.
Hello! Funnily enough, you've highlighted one of my common complaints there - I much prefer it when you've got AI racers available as well, otherwise things can feel a bit empty on track, as you say. Developers take note!
Thanks for watching!
You got a new subscriber mate. Enjoyed the video. It was really well presented and I will now check out some of your other videos too. All the best, have a great day 😁👍
Thanks again, much appreciated. All the best.
Good list. It is rare to see these list videos actually contain interesting titles for me to discover and go after.
Thanks very much, I appreciate it. And most of these games should cost you next to nothing. Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
Also, for UK viewers with PS+, you can get flatout 4 and its DLC for a combined price of under 60p until 11/09 👍
Absolutely - thanks for the heads-up. The discount is live in several other territories now as well.
A great watch and some that I was not aware of.
Thank you very much, and cheers for watching!
You saved the best to last...Gravel is superb!!! It looks and plays better on the newer consoles compared to xbox one or ps4. It reminds me of Sega Rally a bit aswell.
Yeah, definite Sega Rally vibes. Great fun. Thanks for watching!
Gravel Gravel Gravel. Just started to paly - what a nice surprise!
Ah, I'm pleased you like it! It's great fun. Thank you for watching!
Great video and definitely some games on the list I’ll be picking up in sales
Thank you very much, I do appreciate it. Enjoy the games and thanks for watching!
Have u yet discovered Turbo Sliders Unlimited? IMO it's one of the best arcade racing nowadays. It have huge amount of features already, and settings to tweak. Vehicle editor, level editor etc.
I have indeed. In fact, the developer was kind enough to give me access to the game just recently and we'll be talking more about that very soon...
Enjoyed watching this and will try the first 2 which I've never heard of
Thank you very much, and I'm really happy to introduce you to some new games. Enjoy, and cheers for watching.
"trapped in a Bulgarian night club"-nice descriptive and very telling. :D
Believe it or not, I was in several Bulgarian nightclubs earlier this year, so I speak from experience!
Thank you for watching!
I bought most of these games on sale for dirt cheap. Most I have never even played. But after seeing the gameplay on some of them, I think I will download them.
HI! I'm delighted that you've found some new games. Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
Very well made video. I am almost ashamed to admit that I've never played any of these games and had never even heard of most of them. That does make the list especially useful though. Maybe this video should have been called the best racers you've probably never played before as none of the arcade racers (like Forza Horizon, Motorsport, SSX, Cool Borders, Project Gotham Racing, Midnight Club, Jet Moto, Road Rash or Mario Kart that I've played) are on this list. Anyways you have given me a lot of games to look into and probably buy a few and for that I am grateful.
Hello! I am delighted to hear that you've found some new games, that's a big part of why I set this channel up - to uncover those hidden gems. Thanks for watching, and welcome to the channel!
Genuinely, thank you for showing me Woden GP. I remember being amazed by the old rally championship cabinet when I was a child and always wanted something with a bit more to it than just playing the arcade game.
Ah, my pleasure! Introducing everyone to the hidden gems is a big part of the reason the channel's here. Enjoy the game, and thanks for watching!
The last 2 are my favorites I'm glad I brought them and still enjoy them!
Yeah, they're great fun. Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
New Star GP looks very nice! :)
They've done a great job with it - you get a lot of game for your money. Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
New star gp is peak ngl
Yeah, love it. Thanks for watching!
Just curious why you put Flatout 4 on the list, instead of Flatout Ultimate Carnage - especially when UC got updated a couple months ago to get rid of GFWL and Steam MP support (but it's still dead AFAIK?) along with Steam achievements and a bunch of neat little additions. I do have to thank you for reminding me to play Super Woden 2 and New Star GP. And especially for reminding me to reinstall Gravel and Hot Wheels Unleashed 2, man those games are so fun. Gonna probably pop into Riders Republic on Geforce Now as well (don't have the space for all these gamessssssss) heh.
Hey! Wherever possible, I try to include games that are easily available across a few formats, and may have been missed altogether, and FlatOut 4 falls into those categories. But I love Ultimate Carnage - I don't know how many hours I sunk into that on the 360.
I hope you find time - and hard drive space - to enjoy some some great racing. Thanks for watching!
Thank you. Just grabbed a few of these and more after a search. Lot of fun.
My pleasure! I'm delighted to introduce you to some new games. Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
Nice to see Gravel included! What an awesome game...although don't mention those boss battles...!
Ha, yeah! I also didn't mention the unintentionally hilarious announcer: 'If you didn't faint during that race then you're clearly used to strong emotions.' Brilliant.
"Bulgarian disco" hahaha .. subscribed
Ha, thank you. And welcome to the channel!
XENON RACERS is one of the best, if not the best arcade racing game u can buy today. If you are a fan of games like ridge racer and outrun, then u need to try it. It looks like a futuristic take on ridge racer with an amazing drift mecahnics with a thumping soundtrack. And best part ? it goes on sale a lot and u can get it for less than $3 from time to time. Loved it so much that i got it on ps5 and on steam and can't get enough of it.
I've never tried that one. I'll give it a go, thank you.
@@Video_Games_Forever btw, ur video made me wishlist that new star gp and despite being a fan of sky drift, never knew there was a remake, so i am happy, thank u.
Xenon was fun but i disliked that they forced you to use certain cars for soecific events that disn't feel suitet for the challenge. Hotshot Racing is a lot better in my opinion.
@@CarlHammarstrom oh yeah, hotshot is amazing, such a good game, very very fun, just the rubberband ai is so brutal , but still, a great take on the old sega games, i agree.
It was £1.27 on Steam 2 weeks ago.
Would be ecstatic if Milestone made a new Screamer game - without a doubt, the best arcade style rally game of the 90s. That series had the most satisfying handling physics and the most memorable track design to date. Reuse the tracks from Screamer 2 and Screamer Rally, try to get the handling in the same ballpark, heck, include the awesome music for nostalgia sake and the result should be a proper arcade rally game that gaming nowadays desperately needs. I think no game since Screamer 2/3 has beaten the handling model, of course simulation rally with a steering wheel is a different category.
Gravel is fun too, but would love to see tracks with way more narrow roads and that game is quite similar to a lot of other post millennium racers, so it's a bit faceless.
Totally forgot about Screamer. I'd be really happy to see them update that.
Really miss going to the arcades and spending some coins on Outrun (yeah, I’m that old), Sega Rally, Daytona, and many other legendary racers, but actually as well, Time Crisis, Cadillac and Dinosaurs, King of Fighters and Wind Jammers.. those games were made to eat your coins, true, but they knew they had to be fun in the first place.
Yeah, me too! The buzz you used to get when all those tightly packed cabinets blasted out their respective theme tunes and you walk by, watching the demos play out. It's good to see a few retro arcade cafe/bars pop up here and there, where you can pay a certain amount to play any games for an hour or so. I hope we see more of that.
@@Video_Games_Forever exactly! Great description of the feeling indeed. Unfortunately in my country all arcades are gone and it’s almost impossible to find even a forgotten machine still working at a cafe or something similar like you mentioned.
@@Daniel__Nobre I hope one day a rich businessman or something starts a new arcade in your area. Games are huge business these days, so it would make sense for someone. Here's hoping!
@@Video_Games_Forever Yeah, indeed! They did try a very small one, with about 10 machines, at a shopping mall close to my place. But given that it was a stupid model were you could play everything and "only" had to pay for each 30mins inside, it was already doomed from the start.
That and the lack of maintenance, meaning you'd pay always the same fee to get in, but then couldn't play a third of the games there, or i.e. the second player's pistol on Time Crisis was broken very early on and stayed like that forever - stuff like that meant it went bust pretty quickly.
Like you said, it probably has to be someone behind it with lots of money to lose if needed and a passion for it.
Flatout 4 and Moto Racer 4 with mixed Steam reviews for a reason could have been easily replaced by Wreckfest, Circuit Superstars, Chase Horizon Turbo, Flatout 2, Bang Bang racing or TT ISle of Man 2 to name a few
All decent games you mention there, and I've covered many of them in previous videos. But I maintain that both Moto Racer 4 and FlatOut 4 - with a combined cost just recently of under £2/$2 - are well worth a look for arcade fans. Thanks for commenting and watching!
Table Top Racing was free on PS Plus when it launched, so you may already own it. I remember loving it!
Good point! It could be lurking in backlogs, ready to go. It's great fun.
Super Woden GP is basically just Circuit Superstars but fleshed out as a proper game.
Yeah, kind of. It's the same isometric viewpoint. I love Circuit Superstars and I covered that in a previous video for five underrated arcade racers. Super Woden GP 2 has a lot more vehicles and a bit more variety in track design and layout, but there's definitely room for both games in anyone's collection. Thanks for watching!
Nice list of games. I have the original Skydrift which is very fun. Gravel also seems very good from the little I have played. I also played the original Woden but find it a bit frustrating. The New Star GP looks like something I would like so may pick it up if it goes on sale.
Hello! The original Super Woden GP could certainly be a bit 'slippy' on track, but the sequel has tightened things up a bit. It's still quite an excitable arcade racer, though. Hopefully you'll find a discount on New Star GP soon, it does regularly end up on sale. Thanks for watching!
Is this voice belong to Richard from Digital Foundry? Very nice content btw
It's not Richard, but thank you for the compliment, I appreciate it. Welcome to the channel!
@@Video_Games_Forever Your accent, tone of voice and pronunciation forms are the same as Richard Richard Leadbetter. I'm really surprised 😳
I'd also add Inertial Drift to this list. The gameplay is quite unique (and can be confusing at first), but when you nail it, it feels very satisfying and fast. Plays great on the Steam Deck as well.
Yeah, that's another good shout. Definitely takes a bit of getting used to, but plays great and looks good.
I feel Wreakfest, Horizon Chase Turbo, and Cruis'n Blast deserve mention.
Wreckfest is right up there with my favourite ever racing games and I covered that in a previous video for five underrated games to play in 2024. Just brilliant, cannot wait for the sequel.
Horizon Chase and its sequel are great fun, and I like that you've mentioned Cruis'n Blast, that often gets overlooked on the Switch. Great shout!
Creating a track in the first hot wheels game was really awesome and time consuming.
It can be very addictive, can't it? It's great when you nail a great layout and it plays well.
Since 2017 I spent an awful amount of hours (over a thousand 😳) trying to convince myself that I could play Assetto Corsa. I just could never play it good, so I quit it earlier this year to go back to arcade racers which are infinitely more fun to me. I'm particularly enjoying the original GRID from 2008 a lot, although sadly it's not a game that can be purchased anymore these days. I was lucky enough to grab it for free when it was still available on Steam. Perhaps the best combination ever of simulation and arcade.
Hey! Yeah, Assetto Corsa is hardcore. I find it pretty much impossible on a pad. The only time I've enjoyed it is strapped into a hydraulic seat with full wrap-around screen in a specialist digital racing centre. So, not the sort of rig many people have at home!
I really enjoy the driving in GRID. I'd like to see Codemasters lean into the arcade tracks a lot more in any future sequel, because some of those road circuits are brilliant fun.
Anyway, thanks for watching!
I recommend the Urban Trials games if you want a Trials experience without any of the Ubisoft BS.
And if you're going to get any FlatOut game, I'd recommend FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage on Steam. It's an improved version of the best game in the franchise and has full controller support, so it plays the best on handheld computer devices. Wreckfest is also a solid recommendation on any modern platform, including the Switch.
And finally, I recommend giving the first two Moto Racer games a try, but only the ones available on GOG, because they are the only re-releases that are optimized for modern computers. Sadly, they have issues when running on Linux, but so does any other commercial version as far as I know.
Excellent tips and recommendations, thank you! I always say this, but Wreckfest is simply awesome.
Great list man thank you, would like to recommend Old School Rally (Steam) if you have yet to play it; Parking Garage Rally Circuit also looks fun!
Thank you, I appreciate it! I'm definitely playing some Old School Rally ASAP and that Parking Garage Rally Circuit looks like a right laugh, I'll check that out. Thanks again!
Hotshot Racing should be on this list. Fantastic!
Yeah, that game's great. I covered it in a previous video for five underrated arcade racers.
Great video , absolutely love a n arcade racer .I would like to see a sequel to Blur from back in the PS3/360 days,i missed Gravel so gunna check that out plus others
Yeah, I was really hoping we'd see more from Blur. Some new tracks and more split-screen multiplayer would have been great.
Nail'd is a great arcade racer that goes on sale for .99 cents quite often.
It's great to see someone mention Nail'd, I loved that on the 360! I need to play that again.
Nice one,Subscribed. Please keep it comin...
I appreciate it, thank you. And welcome to the channel!
I played Trials Rising with my wife and destroyed her, it was a lot of fun
Funnily enough I played the game with my husband and beat him 3 times. He cried like a baby
Video games can certainly form part of the foundation of a strong marriage. Or provoke relentless violence and divorce. One or the other.
fantastic video!
Thank you, I appreciate it!
No mention of Wreckfest ? In my opinion the best racing you can get online . The way the cars react to the damage they take is superb.
Hello! I absolutely share that opinion - Wreckfest is one of my favourite-ever racing games. But I covered it in one of my earlier videos, so I wanted to take a look at some different games here that may not be so familiar.
Cannot wait for Wreckfest 2!
Thank You. great video.. you've earned another subscriber!
Hey! Thank you very much - and welcome to the channel!
Great channel, great video. Why yes, I will subscribe...
Why, thank you. And you're very welcome at the channel!
Just bought flatout 4 for 49cent and the dlc for 11cent. A total of 60cent. Look forward to getting my monies worth tonight. Thanks for the recommendation.
Now that, my friend, is some solid shopping! FlatOut 4 is a great blast for 60 cents. Enjoy!
Great video. You have a soothing voice. Subbed
Ha! Well, thank you. And welcome to the channel!
One thing about Gravel: before race there's option to re-tune your car, and you should absolutely use this feature. Default tunning of most cars is just horrible, to point where it makes driving physics seem much worse than they really are.
If you never tuned before, and can't make heads nor tails out of it, at least set brake bias and traction balance (in 4x4s) to 50/50. From that point, if car still turns poorly, more to rear. It it goes sideways too easily: more to front.
Nice tips there, thank you!
Interesting list... not a lot of arcade racers around these days. Personally watching Aero GPX's early access right now...
You're absolutely right, which is why I really wanted to highlight some of the 'smaller' racers that may have flown under the radar for many. And thanks for the heads-up about Aero GP, that's definitely one to watch!
Great vid shared this on our group

aaaah 'gravel' great game! nice video mate ;)
I appreciate it, cheers!
Skydrift Infinity looks like a serious version of Freaky Fliers. I might check that one out.
It's a lot of fun, especially in split-screen. Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
Gravel is pretty fun. Got it for 5 bucks or so on steamdeck. Not MotorStorm levels of fun but still good.
That's a fair point. Evolution Studios eventually more or less mastered arcade racing across MotorStorm and Drive Club. I'd be delighted to see either make a comeback, if a suitable new developer could be found.
Horizon Chase Turbo is the greatest arcade racer of all time and it isn’t even close.
I'll admit, I wasn't sure about Horizon Chase Turbo to start with; it just seemed a bit too basic, even for an arcade game. But the more I played, the more I got addicted, and the gorgeous sequel expands and improves everything brilliantly. I'm definitely a Horizon Chase fan now. I also really like Slipstream for its pixel art take on scaler racing.
I expect one or two of these games might make make my next arcade racer video... In the meantime, thanks for watching!
@@Video_Games_Forever if you didn’t have so many thoughtful killer picks on this list I’d think you are out of your mind haha! I feel like Horizon Chase 2 sucked the soul out of the first one and crushed it.
Really good list though and I even added a couple to my library.
@@Zodemus That's fair enough. I really enjoy hearing from everyone and getting their takes on various games.
I'm glad I could point you in the direction of a couple of titles. Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
I'm really surprised Moto Racer has gotten fourth game. I absolutely loved the original back in 90's?? Early 2000? Ages ago anyway.
Hello! I don't really order the games according to preference, only to try and make the list varied. But yeah, I agree - loved the original back in the late 90s!
This was an excellent video, sir. Do you happen to know if there are still many players online in HW Unleashed 2?
Thank you kindly! In my experience on PS5, there are quite a few people online throughout the week, and the competitive racing is a lot of fun. There's also a two-player split-screen option.
Enjoy ,and thanks for watching!
I still play Grip (ps4) which is the spiritual successor to Roll age on PS1 - fun game and developers supported it for a fair while with improvements. Dirt cheap too 👍
Yeah, that's another one that nearly made this video, great shout!
Enjoyed. Thanks.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching!
Really enjoyed this list, thanks!
Gravel looks like it's struggling to keep a stable 30 fps going.
Hello! Thank you, I appreciate it.
Gravel generally isn't too bad, and a couple of the guys in the comments here have kindly outlined how you can get the game to run at 60fps on console, which helps massively.
Thanks for watching!
@@Video_Games_Forever Interesting. Thank you. I did not check out those comments. Thanks! Keep up the great work!
@@dbnpoldermans4120 No worries. And thanks again!
Thanks for the video. These are some great recommendation!
My pleasure, thank you!
Good list. I discovered a couple of games that I need to play now 👍
I'm delighted to hear that, thank you. Enjoy the games!
Excellent list 👌🏻
Thank you kindly, I appreciate it.
No Crus N Blast on the switch? That game is probably one of the best Arcade Racers that has been released most recently
That's a really good shout - someone else mentioned it, and it's often overlooked. Great fun.
Some decent games in there but also some real duffers (Flatout TI and MotoRacer 4 are truly horrific) and yes, I fully agree that Gravel 2 should be a thing - especially now that KTR (who are now under the Milestone umbrella) have lost the rights to WRC and they have no other 4-wheel franchise currently on the go.
Hello! I've mentioned it a few times here, but you've got to look at it in context. Would I pay loads of money for Moto Racer 4 or FlatOut 4? No. But for the price of a coffee or less, they're great fun in short bursts.
Now im interested in that bulgaria night club you spoke of... Most just play chalga
Ha! Go to Bansko and you can choose from about 10!
Redout 2 is a wickedly fast and decent antigrav arcade racer as well.
I completely agree! I covered that one in a previous video for five underrated arcade racers. Great fun.
Great list thank you 👍🏻 I have quite a few already in my library 😮 need to get on and play them! A new sub from me 😅
Thank you very much - and welcome to the channel!
Gah, I have too many of these already. Sadface. Only one I don't have that looks interesting is New Star GP.
Ah, sorry I couldn't offer you more on this occasion. Hopefully I'll have something a bit more interesting in my next videos. Cheers anyway.
@@Video_Games_Forever Thanks for replying.
@Video_Games_Forever Pro tip for Gravel on PS5. Turn HDR OFF in your PS5 system settings before starting, then run the Gravel game app. This will enable 60fps. Next, when you get to the title screen, keep the game open but bring up your system settings and turn HDR back ON. This will bypass the weird coding and give you BOTH HDR and 60fps. Makes the game infinitely more fun. Cheers and give it a go!
Yeah, someone mentioned that to me, I had no idea. Thank you very much!
Can’t recommend it enough but Make Way is such a great Game! Imagine Mashed x Ultimate Chicken Horse. It’s so much fun in Couch Coop.
I really need to try Make Way, thank you for the reminder. Looks like great fun.
Burnout 3 : Takedown is the greatest Arcade Racer of All Time . Remaster anyone ?
Sign me up! Takedown is my favourite in the Burnout series. I'd love to see Criterion build on that formula for a current-gen sequel.
A remaster without that bellend DJ would be welcome.
I actually recommend RXC - Rally Cross Challenge on steam. for casual players. handling is good and fun. Its better than art of rally and rally origins IMO. Its winable, but when you lose it feels like your fault.
Ah, okay, thank you. I'll be checking that out. I like how that sounds like a fair game, that's crucial. Thanks again!
