    Hi Sweet Friends, This is one of my all-time favorite salad dressings!! It's so easy to make and is delicious topped on a iceberg wedge salad as a change of pace from Ranch or Blue Cheese. Love, Mary

      I purchased a bottle this summer of Green Goddess. Our son showed up at dinner time and I fixed him a plate and salad. He took one bite and said what salad dressing is that? I told him. He liked it and when I was at his house he actually had a bottle. I had only bought it because I remembered eating it the summer I graduated high school in Texas. We put it on our salad but we all put a little dot on our spaghetti. Weird I know but we girls loved the stuff. Gave the sauce a little tang. Did not taste any fishiness. We found the stuff addicting. I told my Sisters that I had Green Goddess and they all went and bought a bottle. Nostalgia will get you every time! haha Thank you for sharing the recipe Mary. Great memories! God Bless you.

    I love how versatile Green Goddess can be! I like chives in lieu of scallion. And adding in other fresh herbs like dill, chervil, etc. So easy to customize to your taste.
    Was always one of my fave dressings growing up. Hearing Mary call it "retro" floored me. Madam! Ma'am. How dare thee! 😂 Oh no. I'm getting old. 😯

    Thank you for this. There are 2 steak houses in San Antonio that serve Green Goddess, but you can't find it at the market. I tried this recipe and it was out of this world.

      Moat Cottage - Hi Elissa, I am a little addicted to it!! God bless my husband. I stink of garlic...LOL!! It makes a great dip too. When I bring this to a party or a church pot-luck with crudités, people literally want to lick the bowl!! LOL!! And it’s perfect for my low-carb friends. They always appreciate this. Love, Mary ❤️😘❤️

    Hi Mary, I love all your recipes and your style of teaching. Thank you. I’m wondering if I could replace the anchovy with a little soy sauce for the salty Unami flavoring? I hate all fish

    • @luckyluckylucky2261
      @luckyluckylucky2261 3 роки тому

      Do you like Cesar dressing? Then you like anchovies. I swear, they don’t taste like fish. My family is super picky, and I make a paste sauce w shallots, butter, garlic, and anchovies and they don’t even know! I call it butter sauce and it is delicious! Please try

  • @kathleenzimmerman8227

    Hi Mary :-D
    All the ingredients sound like they would make a wonderful dressing, except the anchovies. There are very few things I won't/can't eat, and that's one of them. And I love fish! I've tried several times and just can't go it. :/ The rest of it sounds like a delicious combo!
    Love & prayers

    • @MarysNest
      @MarysNest  6 років тому +2

      Hi Kathleen, You can definitely make this without the anchovies - just add a bit of salt to taste after you make it. You may not even need any salt. The green onions and the garlic give it such a punch of flavor!! Hope you are having a great weekend. We got some rain last night and more to come later tonight and next week. Plus the temps are going to dip down into the 50s...WHOO HOO!! Fall is FINALLY coming to central Texas!! Love, Mary

    • @kathleenzimmerman8227
      @kathleenzimmerman8227 6 років тому +1

      Yep! I'm DEFinitely a SALTy person. ROFL!!! oh MAN ... I don't know if I told you or you picked it up somewhere along the line ... I live in SE Michigan. I am WELL used to cooler and freezing temps. I think my blood is think as honey!!! So, for ME, when the temp gets above 70, I'm DYin'. This WHOLE spring/summer has been either in the 90's-110's, UN BEE LIEVE ABLE humidity because I live near lake Erie, and we get ALLLLL the wonderful *lake effects*. When it wasn't hotter than Hades, it RAINED. Now, when I say *rained*, what I REALLY mean is: juuuuuust enough to chase you into the house, so you can't get ANY work done outside, including mowing the lawn but not enough to sustain the needs of my garden. My garden was like a huge bag of potato chips. I lost it ALL, except for a few volunteer cherry tomato plants and .... SURPRISE .... ONE PUMPKIN!!! I don't even know what to do with it because it's TOTALLY GREEN. SOLID. GREEN. I know there are MANY varieties of pumpkin, and maybe it's SUPPOSED to be that way?!? This plant was given to me by a friend, with no label. I THOUGHT it was zucchini, but I have never seen PRICKLY leaves on zucchini before. The ONLY way I knew it was pumpkin, since I never grew pumpkins before, was the rooooound shape of it. I thought: I've never seen a ROUND zucchini before, but, I guess ANYthing is possible. HOW this pumpkin even survived is only by God's hand. I have read that they need an IMMENSE amount of water. I just could NOT afford the water it would have taken to keep everything alive. :`( I believe it is God saying to me: "Don't worry ... I will provide. SEEE what I can DO?!?*
      I"m sorry .... I guess I got off track. :/ I am EVER SO GRATEFUL the temps are getting back to the point where I can be in my kitchen and have the double blessing of heating my mom, myself, the dog, 2 cats & my house. That means .... breads, and baking!!! YAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!
      I love you, my dear friend (((((((Mary)))))))
      Love & prayers

    This may be a dumb question, but what constitute a bunch of parsley? My store doesn't look like a bunch. Could you say maybe 4 cups, less or more?
