There is a lot of good advice here, but I particularly like listening to Jeven Dovey. His manner of speech is easy to understand and his speed and enunciation allows you to retain it. He pauses during the sentences so people like me which are easily distracted can focus in pieces. When it’s fast and even toned without out pauses I lose focus. He’s not too fast, and he says things that the majority of people need to understand and he goes about explaining it in the manner that they can.
Vanessa Lau advice "Don't aim for perfection just do it".
Nick Nimmin "you have to figure how to work the process of creating and uploading videos into your lifestyle".
Reflecting on this video for a little while after watching it and what's interesting to me is that nearly everyone talked about intrinsic motivation. The "if you build it, they will come." And of course also "just do it." Very inspiring.

Thank you, hearing that from someone like you warmed my heart. I really try to make people enjoy my original content
With shorts now, it's a totally different game. I went from about 12k subscribers, in November, to almost 900K now May 4th. December I hit 100K, got verified, and a Silver play button. Things just randomly shot up and took off once I started posting shorts was more consistently
Just 3 months later & you're at 1.3m. Crazy growth 😅
@@ballooned It's an achievement for sure. But a short lived one. Subscribers nowadays do NOT matter. It's all about the audience around your channel. There''s thousands of shorts creators I've never heard of, but have insane subscribers to the point I'm questioning why I've not seen them before. It's useless, income is limited.
I've noticed that too! I just started consistently about 8 weeks ago and I started posting shorts consistently last week. I've posted 10 since, 1 Monday-Friday and I've already gone from 41 subscribers to 59 in just 12 days! I know it's baby steps, but the shorts are kind of like ads for my channel. It peaks people's interest and then they come over to my channel. 😊
@@idk_someguy2shorts income is 3m views in 3 months vs actual videos is 3k watch hours in a year if you can be successful in normal videos it’s vastly better for income.
wow!
i went a quick check to your channel and I see two videos unboxing and unwrapping and tapping the products. I've never seen this before.
3 years and we got 4000 subscribers... Slowly but growing. We are just enjoying the journey 😊👍
Love This‼️

I just stopped by to say congratulations to you two.
It is great that you are able to enjoy this adventure together.
I know I'm already going to hit replay when this finishes
People are always asking me are you making money or when you are big you will make tons of money. To me it’s not about making money. I love making videos, I love filming, editing and gardening so I’m already happy with my videos. I do try to make better videos each time but for now I’m enjoying the ride.
I'm starting this week! I discovered I can use my webcam to do just what I need to do! Now it's time to learn to edit and all the other things. I am stepping into my destiny of encouraging many to heal and find the beauty and purpose God has for them in this life! Thanks for all your videos at Think Media!
This video is pure gold. Worth a rewatch.
I love your use of editing to make pictures appear to have motion.
Starting is a huge hurdle for people. Longterm consistency and intentional growth in the face of lack of results is even harder.
Just started but hoping I can stay in the journey’
Here's a question! Considering thumbnails - our videos as you know are based around DIY projects, and we love to show either the final result or a before/after. So it makes it hard to create a thumbnail preemptively because we don't know exactly what it will look like. What advice do you have for this scenario? Get a general mock up of a thumbnail and just plug and play after filming?
Amazing video btw! Very helpful tips everyone was spot on 👍 thanks for all that you all do and educating the community "You Got This!"
One way you could do it is take one picture of the material before you start creating and when you're done filming then you take a picture of the final product. And then you can put them side by side in the thumbnail.
1.4 Million subscribers on your channel.
@@DerekPKI’m sure they know
1. Analyze your videos and filter by CTR
2. Pick the 10 with the highest CTR
3. Extract patterns they have in commom
4. Thats your formula
Maybe, of your 10 highest CTR (not views) videos, 7 out of 10 have some text, maybe they have a determined background, maybe they share a dominant colour…
It’s great the huge amount of videos and views you have! Thats means that the data you can extract is much more real and objective.
Good luck mate!
I would definitely do what Emilia had said! A picture of the before and the final product! What I've seen trending in DIY thumbnails is that the final product is blurred so it evokes some type of mystery! Maybe try A/B testing with both versions and see what works best for you!
Seeing and Listening to all these legendary creators are itself a great motivation✌
There have been times where I wanted to give up on my channel and took breaks but I keep coming back, I know this year is going to be the year that changes everything for my channel.
"Just Press Record" has haunted me for the past 6 months.
Tomorrow will be day 3 for my new UA-cam Video Blog.
I stared at the blank camera for hours before I could press record.
Thank you for all of the great content. I wouldn't have done it without your slogan bouncing around in my 61 year old head.
A new friend of mine Ryan S Howard was also instrumental. He says your VRA is great. Having someone like him just a few steps ahead gave me the confidence to just do it
Can't wait to see you in person someday soon.
Nobody's Fault Podcast
Last night, I recorded the 24th episode. So glad the ball is rolling now. Lots of tiny baby steps being made. Still need to work on thumbnails, titles and a hundred other details. Always do a sound check. 😄
The advice in this video is outstanding! This channel always pumps me up to grind that much harder on UA-cam.
Amazing! Thanks so much for compiling so many greats nuggets of wisdom into one video. It’s always so helpful to learn from those who have found success
Another tip is not to compare yourself with others, applies for your UA-camrs but also in life. Life is not a competition.
I used to compare myself with others before, and I was always frustrated, but when I started focus only on myself and my journey I started to see progress and be more satisfied.
It might seem like others are luckier than you but the reality is they been doing something for longer than you or better than you.
You only see the top of the iceberg but not what is beneath the water.
this video deserves a billion views. The time that must have gone into sourcing all this advice, so thankful you guys did it
Your videos have helped me so much in regards to strategy and motivation. I’m three videos in and getting ready for the long haul thanks to you guys! 🙏🏼
Amazing! So much great advice packed into 30 minutes. Going to have to rewatch this again. Thank you! 💪💪
Terrific work on the video, Sean and the entire ThinkMedia team! Over time, I have come to truly value your authentic and impactful way of sharing information with us. Your dedication to providing real and practical advice has made a significant difference, and I couldn't be more grateful for your guidance. Thank you again for all that you do! 😊

Love this! Just got invited to be Monetised today so can't wait to keep improving my content. Great advice in this video 👍
I started making actual UA-cam videos in 2022 and I've been enjoying the process. I'm currently under 500 subscribers, but the process is beautiful.

One of the best ! Thinking in many angles . Full of experience and very informative . Thanks .
ive been on youtube for 4 years and this year I decided o go all in and stop business... I love making videos and now my goal is to tell better stories, I have learned to edit over the 4 years, how to make thumbnails etc.... i believe in the content having to be the best to really grow
Great video! Really helped me start up my UA-cam channel. Been quite a wild first month but honestly regardless of views/subs just enjoying the content you put out is important. Good luck to all you other new youtubers! Let's strive to be the best we can.
Wow, lots of gold nuggets here. I wish FB would recommend this to me in my feed every year. Keep on plugging tubers :)
Great video! Really changes perspective on how things work.
Now lets use these tips to improve 👌👌
I just know this finna help mee so i already liked it😂😂
Sean, thank you for this. You are a great encourager. Much blessings for helping people start. I started two and a half years ago and I bingewatch your videos to help me start. Today, I'm monetized and flourishing. Thank you for all you do and your team. Much Love.
Love what Jeven Dovey says: "what does success mean to you? What is the purpose of making videos".. figure out what it is you actually want, and what goals you need to set to obtain that - And, what happens when you get there". Very powerful
There's a lot of wisdom in this 30 min video. Thank you so much! 🙌 Hoping to apply it all one step at a time.
Fantastic video! Motivating and full of knowledge. Thank you for putting this together.
3:10 - Absolutely true! Its actually the same with food. If you care about someone, you make them a nice meal they'd love. Because u took the time and made it nice. Great video! :)
Unbelievably helpful stuff! I just started and have been listening to the 15 minute version of this vid over and over again for inspiration.
this was amazing. Saving this under "Motivation" so that I can keep gong and never give up!
David Dobrik: "Doesn't matter if you're filming yourself with your toaster!" Yeah my 4K Toaster really shoots the best videos. Don't know how I'd live without it.
i thought they meant filming yourself hanging out with your toaster

Thanks for the video and advice! Applying this to my future videos. I used to just stop whenever I noticed any mistakes in my videos. but i noticed it’s so wrong to do that and it’s better to just keep going all while improving for the next video.
I started UA-cam when I was at university with an iphone and I had no idea youtube was a job for people 😅 If I had, I would have doubled down. But here I am, 10 years later and 12K subscribers ❤
Bookmarking this video! Such a great collection of insights that are not about “insights” or algorithms. Thanks for putting this together. 🙌🏼
Glad you liked it Brad!
The algorithm never fails to get us to watch the right video at the right time. Thank you for this!!
Mr Beast is the only creator that's honest enough to tell his viewers to just make good video not else really matter. Everything else will follow
... its the good video and the value of that video that matters
Title and Thumbnail are definitely the nail on the head! I learned that recently and I’ve started seeing some improvements. This doesn’t mean content shouldn’t relate, as we’re updating title and thumbnail, we should do same for content. Fail and try and fail and try again, that’s my Motto. Goodluck to us all…as always! ✊🏾💥💙
This is like learning a new language (UA-cam) i have been doing instagram for years and this is way more enjoyable than anything else i have ever done.😀
Title and thumbnails are by far the most important after video ideas!!! GREAT ADVICE and great video!! only 225 subs here, but like you said, it's not about the subs for us, its about making of the videos having fun and connecting with our audience and growing.
I'm def not worrying about the money side yet. My goals are 2fold. First and foremost to show my grandsons they can be content creators...without fancy expensive schooling ...
A membership at your local cable tv station will usually give lessons and loan equipment...(at least they do where I am) the hope is, when they see Nana doing it, they'll think, if Nana can, I sure can!
And second, my subject is intended to assist people who are mourning lost loved ones, which has to be good.
❤❤❤
So Im studying the process now ..watching people like you!
My niche found me when I was 5 years old. I'm in the cruising niche, and I took my very first cruise when I was just 5 years old. Since then, I've been on over 30 cruises across various lines, and next year, I'm going on a brand-new ship, a first for me! This ship is still in dry dock, meaning it's still being built.
I’ve never had a video 25k but i can’t get out of that groove. The video was eye opening, thank you.
Honestly... Just starting is the way to go. I made some shorts about WWDC this year because they were "Easy" and tbh instagram reels are less intimidating for some reason. Last weekend I finally said F it and recorded my first long form video in a couple of years, and (For me) It's taken off. I'm 20x anything I've done before because I just stopped caring about the numbers and wanted to share my love for my desk space.
Thanks for an insightful video. I’m at 439 subscribers and counting. Have patience and keep reminding myself why I started recording my crochet tutorials: for my own records (so my kids can learn from these videos when they’re ready to take on crocheting, even long after I’m dead (if UA-cam is still around 😂)) and of course to teach others. ❤
I’m here to listen and learn!
Thank you for all videos. I re-started my UA-cam journey a month ago. Gained 10 subscribers, the rest was from years back then. I really need this to keep continuing
I just started!! 🙈 creating and posting that first video was so hard! But the second one was easier and now I've got 20+ ideas in my head/ in the scripting phase. Looking forward to learning and getting better!!!
what is your channel about?
One of the best you have compiled for us 🤚
Dude, I love your videos! Thank you! This video slapped.
Thank you for all the meaningful advice. I hope to put it all into action and successfully kickstart my youtube journey really soon :)
this is such a motivating video and I believe all these tips will help us all grow! Good luck everyone on your UA-cam journeys!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching your video! Despite its length being 30 minutes, it managed to keep my interest piqued throughout the entire duration. I must commend you on a job well done! The content was informative, engaging, and excellently presented. Thank you for creating such a fantastic video!
"Start before you are Ready" @sean u just nailed that... i have just started the journey by uploading the stuffs...enough of procrastinations are behind that...
This Video is pure value!!!! Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
Very important quick tips & future data💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
It's so inspiring that it unblocked all my blockers and I even dropped some tears. Thanks so much for that motivation. I was filming whole year of videos of different adventures and only now approached to that point that I have to do something with that...
Great collection of important information! Thank you!
I am new to UA-cam and I started to post because I’m a trainer and love helping people move and become the best version of themselves by working out. I have learnt through these kinds of videos and all of your advice on how to get better and better every time and to keep being consistent amongst my lifestyle of working & managing kids :) I think my titles are clear but always room for improvement and hoping to attract the right consistent audience 😊 I hope one day I can do what I love and turn it into a full time job 😊🙏🏽 Thanks to everyone for the advice! I like the motivation of Just press record!

Great advice full of awesome tips thank you. I’m looking forward to starting my new career soon :)
New subbie! Looking forward to watching your vids. Loved this one. Inspired me ...thank you🙏✌️🤩
I just want to say thank you. I have just started putting videos up on my channel. I am learning as I go. Still learning how to edit videos and such. I am having a blast. I love walking, wild life and Christmas so I have started sharing that. Have a wonderful night and thank you again for all you you-tubers.
This is such valuable advice. I started out a channel 3 times, and quit after a couple of videos because I didn’t enjoy making them, and was in it for the money. After I gave it all up, I decided I wanted to write. But years later, I decide to practice animating and found something that I really love doing. I just started animating my story and draw original characters and hope to have a long lasting career in this. I’m definitely not doing it for money now, and I love the process of making the video from scratch and having it up here on my channel and have people say good things about it. My only goal now is to make the best possible videos, in a way that I can do myself for a long time without any struggle. Editing can be just a little annoying because it’s very timeconsuming but I forget all about that when the videos online. I made 2 videos and going to do what you said. Make every new video slightly better than the one before, and make it reflect my personality. Now I don’t have to pretend or act like I’m all enthusiastic, I just am. The work is worth it ❤
right on. editing is really a struggle here and time-consuming. I am just a beginner who created a faceless motivational channel, and my shorts videos took me 4 to 5 hours to finish.
@@LifeOdysseyMotivation Wow! I get you. It’s weird for a non-UA-camr to realize you can spend 6 days on a 3 minute video, but if you consider that you probably watch your own content 20, maybe 30 times during editing, sometimes redo things, and then when it’s finished or you’re not satisfied, you have to start all over again 😂 The best possible scenario would be if you could one day order a skilled editor from Ali express 😂
@@WisoniaTV ali express?
Super helpful! Just started my channel on self-development. I may not have many subscribers now but I had 0 before. Videos like this help me keep going when I feel like I am not making any progress or compare myself to those with millions of views and subscribers. For everyone working towards their dreams, don’t ever give up! Hope to share my story of triumph with you in a few years and share my progress.
All of them gave the best advice on how to become a UA-camr. They really are impressive and we get a lot of takeaways. But Gary Vee...! Oh my! He is on another level, brilliant advice. It really hits me so hard. And of course, the last advice from Cannel, thank you Think Media for sharing this video with us.
What a video full of awesome advice 🔥🔥
I love it so much ❤
Just START!! I’m 15 years old and I’m not a month in yet as a content creator but I’m motivated…I don’t have everything I need but I had enough to get started!!! Keep going!!!!
Yes staying motivated because if you look at me now in comparison to 2 weeks ago I am truly proud of us!!!
Just start. Today. The beginning is always hard, there will be ups and downs and days where you have to be very patient. You just have to stand the test of time. Once you have done that, the rest is easy. I wish you all the best of luck and success.
