    I’m a man of 36 years old and I am in tears and pain and happy at the same time for her for the second chance that life have gave her after watching Netflix documentary.
    I completely understand her situation and of why she made that terrible mistake that took her to be behind bars for 15 years .
    I went through for a lot of difficulties when I was very young with sexual abuse twice , domestic violence , neglect at early age without protection and love , bullying from day 1 and With the pain of my heart I can totally relate to her except I did not commit a murder but my life got very complicate a lot because of all what I went through which difficult to have a better quality of life and until now I still struggling and carrying it with me with a lot of therapies .
    She’s a truly inspiring person and I am happy for a new a better future for her
    Thank you god ❤️🙏🏽 and RIP and god takes you to his glory to the person who died and god bless for all the family

    Actually she told Richard Reed who lived at the InTown Suites Motel that she had blown someone's brains out and scored a "fat lick" she didn't even vaguely suggest it was ever self defense , she even laughed about it at one point and told another person she did it execution style. If you look at what she initially said to people she knew at the Motel and friends and family members it's the opposite of what she is saying now. Also Richard Reed said that Cyntoia Brown asked him to take her back to Johnny Allen's house so they could "clean it out" but he declined the offer.

So a young woman who decides to run away from her adoptive mother's home, team up with her boyfriend to turn to prostitution to make ends meet because they were homeless, and then solicit a john who thought she was of age and decide to execute him while he slept while also stealing his belongings, is someone girl's should look up to?! Try Malala for an actual inspiration to young girls.

      Brandon Elliott also, I should’ve done more research myself before leaving this comment. I looked into the case again after this video and found way more information I wasn’t aware of (the robbery, her gun). So I apologize for leaving the comment when I didn’t have all of the information.

    "women like this don't know what it's like to live a normal life"
    They know very little about Cyntoia Browns past, she was adopted by a school teacher into a stable home at the age of two years old. She admitted she lied on her step-father and said he raped her, the only other abuse she mentions while at home is he slapped her several times and criticized her, and was an alcoholic. As for a normal life she had plenty of food to eat, a nice house to grow up in, nice clothes to wear , etc.. The idea that she never knew a normal life is a bit bizarre. She chose to defy her Mother and run the streets doing drugs, having sex, stealing , skipping school , etc.now when you hear people talking about her upbringing it's always that she was beaten on a daily bases and raped repeatedly and never knew a normal life.

    #DomesticViolence I remember the day I met my son's father multi-racial: (German, Filipino, Irish, Cherokee Indian) Me: Dominican and Black. He promised my family he would take care of me. I was pregnant he told me he wanted to be in his sons life we were never married. He took me back to #BaltimoreMaryland - North Carey Street and Franklin? Saratoga about one block from Harlem Ave. The first couple of months were okay then everything became violent 7 months pregnant he cracked one rib bruised another, cracked one jaw and bruised another. I saw my mother go through abuse and I vowed not to follow her lead this guy was tall, handsome, educated, funny, knew chivalry in every sense of the word. Once my son was born things got worse. My brothers found out about it and shot my son's father. (he survived) the bullet went in and went out... my brothers did time for the crime I was floored why should they pay for my situation. I left him and eventually I went back to college: Morgan State University (HBCU) crossed over as Alpha Kappa Alpha - Alpha Delta Chapter Bachelors in Business Administration, Bachelors in Television and Radio Broadcasting, May 2018 I received my Doctoral in Health and Human Services. I now travel in a rental car letting other women now their self-worth. I have travel to 23 cities and small towns to share, witness and minister to other women and young ladies. We must stand in the gap for one another not just talk about women in these situation You will not know what it is unless you have been in the situation it does not start off as Domestic Violence it feels like a whirlwind

    I just hope no one tries to mess with her in prison. Those inmates hear you are getting out and they know you have a lot of outside support they get jealous and might try to pick a fight or plant drugs on her to give her more time or sadly even kill her. I pray she is safe and in great care until August. 10 years parole is like being in prison basically but at least she will be on the outside and will be able to go to school and live in the free world. I wish to meet her one day and I want to send her a letter to show my support.

    People celebrating this are sick!
    Cyntoia shot the guy in the back of the head while he was asleep - with a gun she took to the property (ballistics showed it was also used in a robbery which paralysed a woman) - stole money, guns and his truck, met up with her pimp and then split the money. That’s literally what happened, the findings of the the investigation, coroner. I can’t believe people are acting like it’s some big miscarriage of justice. She admitted, and it’s on record, that she told him she was 19. Numerous witnesses told the police after she bragged about the killing and it was premeditated. Her account of a struggle and self defence murder are impossible given he was facing the opposite direction, arms together, asleep in a bed. Actually read about the case instead of watching some biased documentary that was designed to prey on emotion. Read the letter from the lead detective in the case: www.tennessean.com/story/news/crime/2019/01/08/cyntoia-brown-clemency-case-letter-haslam/2513091002/
    Research it. She had an incredibly fucked life, but that doesn’t negate the murder. The murder victim didn’t do that to her. He parents failed her, her pimp took advantage of her. Disgusting people. It’s sad all round. But again, she MURDERED and robbed some guy. That was uncategorically wrong - of which can be proven by actual evidence.

      Cyntoia Brown said that she was just defending herself and that Johnny Allen was reaching for something on the floor. However Allen was found lying on his right side on the bed with his arms folded underneath his head faced away from Cyntoia Brown he obviously wasn't reaching for anything. The entry wound was at the back of the skull to believe Cyntoia Browns version you would have to believe that Cyntoia brown can move at the speed of sound and then believe that somehow Johnny Allen after getting shot in the back of the head would somehow be able to gently rest on his side and put his hands under his head.
      Just think about this for a minute how would Cyntoia Brown have the time to reach over to the top of a nightstand get her .40 caliber handgun out of her handbag, chamber the bullet and then turn to shoot him if he was really reaching for a weapon on the floor? Everyone knows with 100% certainty that her defense allegation was totally fabricated and when I say everyone I am referring to the detectives and the forensic experts. Allens guns were also kept in another downstairs room in a gun cabinet when it was located it was noticed that the cabinet was opened and guns were gone so most likely Johnny Allen had no guns in his room at all and Cyntoia Brown took them from the gun cabinet there is no evidence that indicates that Johnny Allen had any Firearms near his bed. Just remember celebrities have the tendency not to really care about evidence they want better ratings regardless.

    • @davidstein8582
      @davidstein8582 5 років тому +1

      She also referred to the murder and robbery of Johnny Allen as being the fat lick she had been waiting for. After she shot him in the back of the head and robbed him and stole his truck and after she parked his truck she got a ride back to InTown Suites and spent the next several days on a crack binge with Gary Mcglothen. It also should be noted that the 40 caliber handgun she used to kill Allen with was also used in the shooting of Rachel Browning in Nashville a shooting in which she was paralyzed for life, she died last year still in a wheelchair. She also threatened two men who lived at the InTown Suites with that 40 caliber handgun. She told a Richard Reed that if he didn't keep his mouth shut about what she had told him concerning the murder and robbery he would get it too and threatened to Man by the name of Samuel Humphrey.

    I honestly seen some people saying the same thing they said about girls that meet up with R.Kelly... and I had to explain that yes sometimes these girls go willingly but MOST of the time then being offered for sex or whatever is not the reason why they think they are there ! They are tricked into this bs... and sometimes can’t even get out and in her case she defended herself because she wasn’t gonna do something that she knew damn well she didn’t want nor shouldn’t do at a young age ESPECIALLY with an older man ( she was 15 at the time )

    • @sharon21924
      @sharon21924 6 років тому

      Myronn Coleman in this particular circumstance she had agreed to do the deed and she killed him after while he was asleep. I don’t necessarily believe this was a case of self-defense because the man was asleep HOWEVER she was 15 at the time and legally she could not have consented. I think this fact was overlooked when they sentenced her and obviously a lot of other things as well. This poor girl should be out now there’s no sense in them holding her and then only granting her parole she’s served enough time.

      Sharon girl nonetheless she was very aware why she was at that clients house lmao. Her being forced in to prostitution doesn’t change that she knew what her line of work was. She knew she was being made to have sex with men for money. We can’t pretend that she didn’t know why she was there

    • @sharon21924
      @sharon21924 6 років тому +1

      Alexis Spencer no one is pretending anything. These are all facts, she was underage when all of this occurred, there is no way under the eyes of the law was she old enough to consent. Look at all of her circumstances. He parents were fucked up. She ran away. The only thing she CHOSE was the individual she shared a relationship with who turned on her and forced her, beat her, raped her etc. yes, she killed a man. HOWEVER, that man isn’t innocent he was a grown ass man who was killed as he was committing a crime himself. Under the eyea of the law if one is committing a crime and is killed during the act they are infact responsible to their own death. We cannot just pretend that the man she killed was “innocent”. Then she was tried as an adult when she was in fact still not an adult, a harsher punishment. A lot of the public outcry is that this woman is a woman of color and the justice system did not do her right. Whereas a white male can just walk up into a school and shoot INNOCENT individuals who have done nothing to him and claim an insanity plea. This girl more than likely had been mentally abused for years prior. She was also born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome thanks to her drunky of a mother and that hurts your impulse control.

She was stealing and committing crimes at 12 years old when she had a nice home to live in, she was so wild her Mother quit reporting her when she went missing because she did it so much. Lots of people showed her kindness she was a bully not the bullied as celebrities present it .
      She assaulted twenty students and the documentary produced by her psychiatrist presents it as if she was always the victim , everyone was always supposedly picking on her when actually she was known to be quite violent and aggressive.

    I said this over a year ago, that what the talk shows and celebrities were not telling us is that there was a group of criminals in Nashville during that period of time who had ties with both Cyntoia Brown and Garion McGlothen Jarvis. The .40 caliber handgun used in the shooting of Johnny Allen was also used in other robberies around Nashville and in the shooting of Rachel Browning on February 7, 2004. The group consisted of Jermaine Hyler known as Jazz, Garion McGlothen known as cut-throat,Tremayne Woods known as Mainy, Jameel Mateen, and Cyntoia Brown. Oh yea I forgot, all of them frequented the In-Town Suites and ran together.
    Is it just a coincidence that the same gun passed around for several years and used in multiple shootings and robberies was involved with the murder and robbery of Johnny Allen? Garion McGlothen Jarvis had possession of the weapon after the shooting of Rachel Browning and gave the handgun to Cyntoia Brown six months after the Rachel Browning shooting, that handgun was (never) used in defense by any of those people, the self defense claim made by Cyntoia Brown is absolutely absurd."
    What really happened is that her pimp gave her the gun and said do it like we have done it before( meaning robbing people) of course that's just paraphrasing it but it was close to something like that. Remember Cyntoia Brown referred to the murder and robbery of Johnny Allen as being a "fat lick".

    Wow I love the social advocacy for criminal justice! But honestly this woman deserved to be in prison for at least the time she'd spent there. 10 years probation is absolutely necessary. I don't agree with this narrative of her being a victim of human trafficking, this belittles actual victims. Yes she had a rough life, both by choice and circumstances. I feel sorry for her as a human being and her life experiences but at the same time she made a decision to take a life. Whether this guy was pedophile or just a regular John (which i'm leaning on the latter based on her account of the situation), he did not deserve to die. People are mixing him up to being her "pimp/boyfriend", they are different people. At the end of the day that man may not have been perfect but he didn't deserve to die. I'm glad she was sentenced for time for her crime. I really believe it helped rehabilitate her for reentry in society (which should be the purpose of prison). Had she never been locked up I think she would have ended up in a destructive cycle. I'm happy she served time, grew from it, and is a better person to reenter society. Probation is still necessary for accountability.

She got into a relationship with a man who became her pimp and he was abusive etc. I don’t belive the self defense because the man was asleep she could have left however, we also don’t know what her mind was like at that time. She was underage, which means she was not able to give consent to anything that happened to her even if she “chose” that life. She was adopted by a schoolteacher at 2 years old who provided her with an upper middle-class home,she had plenty of food,clothes, etc.. she started rebelling against her mother at 12 years old and she started running the streets for days committing truancy, doing drugs, drinking alcohol, committing crimes, she committed her first crime grand larceny at 12 years old and that was just the beginning. Her adoptive mother had tried for several years to get her under control before she took off for Nashville in 2004, her mother doesn't even live in Nashville she lives in Clarksville.

      Kat Aseef that isn’t what feminism is about🙄 she was 15 = UNDERAGE. She ran away because her parents were not fit to be parents and she got into a relationship with someone who took advantage of her and then BECAME her pimp and FORCED her into prostitution. She was NOT 18 therefore she could not legally have consented to anything AND SHE WAS TRIED AS AN ADULT WHEN SHE WAS STILL UNDERAGE. I’m not going to defend her and say she didn’t kill someone because she did the man was asleep and then she robbed him, but under the circumstances she took a pedophile off the streets. That man was grown and knew better than to be messing with a minor He also committed a crime and under the law if one is committing a crime and is hurt or killed it is still considered their fault.

They are perpetrating a lie when they say "you have to remember girls like this don't understand what it's like to live a normal life". Cyntoia Brown had a fairly normal life her adoptive Mother provided shelter, food, clothes, tried to keep her school, etc., Cyntoia Brown chose to be completely defiant and rebellious, she would run the streets for days when she was 13 years old, her Mother didn't know what to do. Her Mother finally gave up and in her own words they "parted ways."
    From 12 -16 she got progressively worse until she ended up robbing people and shooting Allen in the back of the head, the truth is she laughed about it and thought she was a bad azz until she realized she might spend the rest of her life in prison or until she was practically a senior citizen, then she became a victim and voila freedom is calling.

I believe I read he had a gun cabinet in another room, so how he could be asleep with his hands clasped and somehow be reaching for a gun is anyone's guess.

The documentary omits so many facts about her actions and life it's insulting to think they would believe no one would care to do any research on it.

    When detectives first interviewed her on August 7, 2004 right after the murder and robbery which was video recorded so anyone could hear the questions asked and the answers given by Cyntoia Brown, she gave them her date of birth as being January 29, 1985. She had probably given that date of birth so many times that it came naturally and was memorized. Based on that false date of birth detectives arraigned her as an adult until they discovered her real date of birth as being January 29, 1988.
    She admitted during that interview that she lied to Johnny Allen about her age which brings up several legitimate questions. One important question is why would she tell Johnny Allen her age unless he had asked her, and why would he care how young she was if in fact he really was a pedophile as people are repeating now after her clemency? Probably he asked her, her age because he didn't want to have sex with anyone under the age of consent , in hindsight he should have asked her for an ID although fake ID is readily available also. Of course it should be noted that the age of consent is a non sequitur to justifying premeditated murder . If Johnny Allen was forcibly attempting to rape Cyntoia Brown self defense could be claimed easily but Cyntoia Brown testified that her and Allen never had sex and that no money was ever exchanged and that Allen never assaulted her or attempted to rape her.
    So you have to wonder why people keep saying Cyntoia Brown killed her rapist ? If they didn't have sex how did he rape her? There is a complete disconnect with reality in asserting that Cyntoia Brown killed her rapist. She also during that video recorded interview said that she shot Johnny Allen because people had raped her in the past and she wasn't taking any chances yet told the detectives Allen never attempted to sexually assault her in any way.
    When Brown was living with a woman by the name of Shocoha Armstrong in 2004 before she met McGlothen ,according to Armstrong she was partying in adult nightclubs sometimes all night long and was having sex with older men for drugs or money. How did she get into adult nightclubs they run the risk of having their business licenses pulled for allowing minors in, did Cyntoia Brown have a fake ID to get in, * those are questions worth asking.

    They never mention that there is a video recording of her telling the detectives that she told Johnny Allen she was 18 years old. If you read between the lines it's easy to see that Johnny Allen was not going to give her any money unless they had sex, he would give her food, and place to sleep , be cordial etc. but he wasn't going to give her any money without any sex. A blanket and pillow was found on the floor of another room it suggest he told her she could sleep there or with him. So when she didn't reciprocate his advances he just shrugged it off and let it go and turned over and went to sleep then she decided the only way she was going to get that "big lick" was to Rob him which she planned to do all along that's why she was carrying the .40 caliber to begin with.
    The problem she faced was how was she going to simply Rob him and get away unscathed he would reach his firearms fairly quick and might locate her using his truck? She knew it was too risky to try to go into his wallet him having weapons and being an ex-marksman and veteran so she shot him in the back of the head that way she could get that "big lick" she and rotten pimp daddy was waiting for. Self defense was total hogwash.

    I understand it being wrong that she was tried as an adult but she deserves to be in jail. She shot an innocent man in his sleep for no reason (She told him she was 18 and they didn't even have sex), robbed him, and took his stuff back to her pimp. Why are we making this about sex trafficking when it's really just about her murdering someone?

      Exactly she's not innocent cause she herself admitted to willingly going with that man & killing him in his sleep.

      Thank you she was not a sex slave, she was not forced into this life style she made a choice to be what she was. She killed a defenseless man in his sleep. People are not reading the story correct. One celebrity said free her and everybody followed without reading facts first.
